The moment that hooks me in is the end of the first verse. Not really into the DN thing.

    But when she says:
    "Jim taught me thaaaaat,
he hit me and it felt like a kiss
    Jim brought me baaaack,
Reminded me of when we were kids"

For the love of God and for the sake of this forum, Lana needs to stop being asked questions about feminism.

I think we're doing quite well comparing to the West Coast premiere

Her super long nails are disgusting and her stage outfits are terrible tbh.

If we're going to complain about that, then we may as well complain about 70% of what she does since it's all borrowed from a time before her. So much of what she does is nostalgia, her whole look has been lifted from Prscilla Presley/Nancy Sinatra ect. her singing style also, i mean...........if at this point using an old skool song title as a lyric is so awful then how has anyone been on board with her for the last 3 years?

Okay, just throwing this out there about Ultraviolence.

She sings about "Jim", and the natural conclusion is to jump to Jimmy Gnecco. HOWEVER, in the french magazine interview she referred to Barrie as James, which is his middle name. Which means, the Jim she sings about in Ultraviolence, COULD be Barrie as a James could be nick named Jim. I might be completely off, but it's just a thought.

Someone said Ultraviolence and other songs we've heard from Ultraviolence sounds just like any of her stuff, and I'm just really confused by how that makes sense-- to me, West Coast and Shades of Cool were exceptionally different sonically and structurally, Lana's Born To Die had so much pop vibes and what we're getting is this beautiful alternative future jazz psychedelic rock sound.

So I'm just like ? ? ? at people who says it sounds just like Born To Die.

Norway has finally caught up and Ultraviolence is coming June 13th here too!

Contemplating pre-ordering now... Although knowing CDON right, the album will come at least a week after release so um, maybe not. That's what happened last time I pre-ordered an album from them anyway.

Jimmy Gnecco is opening up for Lana on tour... Poor Barrie, haha. That must be so awkward.

I think she's fantastic, haha! But yeah, it's Taylor Swift. Don't be put of by that though. Her best songs are rarely singles, there are so many hidden gems on the albums. I recommend All Too Well, Treacherous, State Of Grace, The Lucky One, Eyes Open, Safe & Sound, Never Grow Up, Last Kiss, You're Not Sorry, Breathe, White Horse and Cold As You to start with. They're some of the songs I think have the strongest lyrics/emotions!

I recently discovered Lana's unreleased songs (joining this forum was a GREAT idea), so that's what keeps me going. All my faves are releasing/rumored to be releasing albums this year so I've been starved of new music, haha.

This is kinda a big question but yeah. Exactly how does Lana's genres work? From what I've understood there are three of them: Hollywood Sadcore, Surf Noir and Hawaiian Metal Glam. How do I know which song, especially unreleased, goes into which genre? I was thinking of a way to organize the unreleased songsI have (I have most, just not the most recent ones) and I figured it might be a good way to do it, but I honestly have no idea where to start, haha.

    Obviously I'm new here, haha
