  1. My thought exactly. I know we only have potato quality as of now, but I feel like even though the songs on NFR are undeniably beautiful... instrumentally speaking a lot of them are more of the same also so far I'm not feeling the final mixing of a lot of these tracks, sounds a bit incongruous to me.
  2. Honeymoon is literally one of her most beautiful songs instrumentally speaking. It's so lush and cinematic.
  3. aaand Jack is all about that dry/flat tone in his instrumentals.
  4. honestly by a show of hands who here honestly think that Jackrabbit Antonoff is on the same level as Rick Nowels, Dan Auerbach or even Rick Ruben? Don't be scared, this is a judgement free zone.
  5. the mixing of the album is in Minecraft quality ‍
  6. I take it Taylor is merely a product of the music industry and I agree.
  7. You also realize that Taylor has an army of fan to back her up for her weak music right? We are definitely a dedicated bunch, leaks or not, but Lana doesn't attract crowds as much as Taylor, even though Lana's music is miles ahead.
  8. I wonder how she'll be able to mix both the aesthetics of Fuck it, I love you and The Greatest, like The Greatest seems to have this sorta late 90s bar setting whereas Fuck it, I love you, at least from the album trailer and what she teased on Instagram seems to have this 50s muscle beach kinda vibe idk
  9. Agreee, we need Dan and Jack to produce the next album!
  10. hold up? Are you talking about the standard double vinyl, or just the big boxset with Ultraviolence written in black? Because that double coloured vinyl sounds cheap AF
  11. Right?! I cannot actually believe that she made us wait a whole year for this. And also I'm really disappointed that this is how HIAB ended up like... I was actually looking forward to hear that one, only to realize that we had basically already heard it all with the three snippets/tease she put on instagram.
  12. Agree to disagree, Born To Die and Ultraviolence... I loved these albums from the first listen. I would agree that Honeymoon had to grow on me, but it's right on top for me now. Lust for Life has still yet to grow on me and now NFR... even from the potato quality I can tell that the production feels lackluster and some of the lyrics just don't sound too melodic and kinda cringey.
  13. Right? There's something really unpolished and DIY-ish about the production, some parts sound really amateur.
  14. *Lana fans when Lana sings about literally anything*: IT'S ABOUT BARRIE !!1!
  15. Omg did I write this??? Jokes aside, I really agree with what you said. I find this era has to be the most lackluster (and I absolutely h****d Lust for Life when it came out, and I still have yet to be able to listen to that album from start to finish without skipping more than half of the song until I finaaaallyyy reach Get Free). Born To Die, Ultraviolence and Honeymoon they rock my world, they are the holy trinity of albums! And I have collected vinyls and boxsets too and was glad to spend all that money on Lana. But I feel super conflicted, because I really wanted to love this album even though I knew from the get go that I would most likely dislike Jack's production, and I feel like I was spot on. I love how stripped down and more "natural" the album feels compared to the trap beats mess that is Lust for Life, but it feels dry as fuck and also super flat, even on The Greatest (which is a superb song to me) the instrumentals they just lack intensity, like they lack percussion idk. I'm still looking forward to hear the actual songs in their HQ glory, but I'm not spending a dime on that nonsensical era, and that DIY cover (and like you too I cannot stand that ugly sweater and that nail color,) but the picture is still beautiful to me though. I love the mix of real photography and artsy painted blue skies. That era was a mess from the beginning... the rest has just been dry af.
  16. Well I've already listened to a lot of tracks on the album that have either been officially released and/or have leaked in HQ and I said what I said. Oopsx2.
  17. Interesting... I think it would be on Ultraviolence level if the production of a lot of track didn't sound so lackluster and dry. Oops.
  18. That I won't argue with, you are correct. But to be fair, I've only listened to what had already been leaked prior to today, the title track and HIAB.
  19. no offence but it took Lana a whole effin year to release that album, and the roll out has been hella messy and has dragged on for way too long, even by Lana's "standards". You bet I listened to the shitty cassette iPhone recording of NFR
