  1. Finally someone that gets it. I did write a short (but lenghty review lol) yesterday, and like it's a good album, definitely not saying it's her best. There are just artistic decisions that were made that I find to be very sub par, and like... cheap.
  2. true, but somehow it just created a nice voice "filter" on NFR she sounds muffled and drowned in hazy instrumentals. Edit: there are parts where the her voice sounds like it was recorded with the cheapest microphones too.
  3. All these stans making it sound like this is her Magum Opus while I'm over here enjoying just a few tracks and thinking that the production and mixing of the album falls flat and sounds downright terrible at times...
  4. that was the epitome of California shit though, talking about driving down to San Diego then Disneyland ads and shit
  5. aren't you the stan holding some stupid grudge against Interscope/Polydor though? Talking about excuses.
  6. You do realize that critics are literally just starting to soften up to Lana, right? Like up until LFL most of them held some stupid grudge against her based on all the bullshit that happened and was said in 2011/12. Which clearly tainted their judgement of all her music. West Coast is a revoluationary song (mark my fucking words) but it didn't really create the waves it should've. Song of the year in 2014. I venture to say that if Ultraviolence came out this year it would probably have a rate near 90% on Metacritic.
  7. The standard version would like to have a word with you ok, sis
  8. I mean you can, already... they're called Ultraviolence and Honeymoon
  9. The only thing we know for fact is that Interscope were hesitant to fund Ultraviolence, until Paul Epworth came in and said he liked it, from that point I don't think she had a problem with the label? Also, she seemed to be pretty much doing whatever she feels like ever since Honeymoon, which like Ultraviolence, was not meant to be a so called "commercial" album.
  10. It's such a beautiful track I love the mix of actual beautifully produced trap beats and classical/jazzy instrumentals!
  11. It's definitely in the same vein though, badly produced trap beats and bad mixing
  12. Agree, I feel like it sounded kinda cheap. Especially after listening to a perfect album such as Honeymoon where everything was well balanced and beautifully intricate. Lust for Life fell pretty flat imho. Def not a worthy runner up and/or follow up
  13. I don't think that was anything wrong with the production or mixing per se, it's just that it was overwhelmingly trap beats-ish and the lyrics sounded like she tried too hard. More often than not it sounded really bad and cringey.
  14. didn't know there were that many good songs on L*st for Life, I usually skip them all until I FIIINALLYYYYYYreach Get Free.
  15. Syphilis in my teeth From your kiss You're touching me
  16. I looove HIAB, but my only problem with it is that it feels like she mashed up two songs together, it also sounds like an acoustic version of Wait For Life by the dearly departed Emile Haynie
