  1. When did all these assumptions about me doing drugs and wanting Lana to stick to this Sad Girl persona come from? I mean it was enjoyable and interesting for her first two albums? But I don't enjoy the misery of others and very much appreciate artistic growth, honey. You're clearly missing the point here. I have literally said nothing about the lyrical content of her new album, I love the direction she took, it's more mature and interesting than singing about doing drugs and having daddy issues for sure. I'm literally always mentioning the production/mixing and mastering of this album. The production of this album was deliberately bad and the mastering is atrocious, that's it.
  2. I'm not. Just tired of people shitting on all her other albums, because we just a got a fresh one. Literally disregarding all the other producers Lana worked with? That's just dumb to me. Not saying Jack is a bad producer per se, he did some great work with Lorde, St. Vincent and even TSwift, but with Lana I just don't get how they made something that sound lackluster at times. Sorry.
  3. LMAO I honestly dare you to find a single negative Born To Die review/critique that doesn't mention that: a) Lana's career was either "paid" by her father and/or she's a manufactured artist made the "the music industry" b) That Lana tried to get into the music several times before, but it never took off. I don't know how long you've been a fan, I'm guessing you're pretty fresh into the fandom, but up until Lust for Life, every single one of Lana's critics were tainted with hatred and resentment against her, there was very little talk about the music, so for you to quote these Metacritic scores as proof of Lana's so called excellence on NFr, that's just baffling, irrelevant and quite frankly hilarious. You can say all you want, but bottom line NFR, is literally her least interesting album from a production point of view, it sounds flat, dry, and very unequal, and that piano sounds hella tonny, so much for Lana's magnum opus uh?
  4. There's a huge difference between wanting Lana to stick to her Sad Girl persona, and wanting her to actually make music worth listening too, with good production and mixing values, and not sound so damn cheap and amateur-ish on what is supposed to be (and this is based on some mentally unstable losers here) her so called magnum opus? You're basically saying that everyone that didn't think NFR was that great are all Sad Girl boys, doing drugs and wishing Lana was still with Barrie, I cannot with your delusional ass. I ain't living in anyone's basement no more, sis.
  5. I couldn't care less what critics have to say about Lana's music, the critics that have "praised" Lana on NFR, are the very same critics that have been disregarding her since the very beginning. Their words don't mean much, just saying. Also aren't you the fan that comes here just to shit on all her albums and say the words "magnum opus" like 11240749 times day? Aren't you tired too?
  6. why did she go for that hideous pop art font/style for the cover this era
  7. I agree with each and every single one of the points you've made here. It's not to say that he's a bad producer, but Lana isn't a typical pop star (not saying Lorde or St. Vincent are though), but Lana is in a league of her own, he didn't quite get her essence on this record and it shows, Lana's usual mysticism and sense of mystery was lost on this record. Lana though, and this is judging by all the interviews, seems to be quite enamoured with his musicianship... well good for her, I don't share the sentiment here though.
  8. I think a lot of people just turned their backs on Rick because he was apart of LFL, which is arguably her least interesting (or her worst) album. But to be honest, I see him as Lana's companion, he was apart of Ultraviolence, and he basically produced Honeymoon with just Lana and Kieron, and it is her best album, or at least her most cohesive and greatest from a production standpoint.
  9. can you actually believe that it took her a year to release that and it ended up sounding unfinished... like that's just
  10. Suddenly all these mistakes and amateur-ish mishaps are considered like purposeful artistic decisions? I mean, at this point they will just say whatever to try and elevate what was a very lackluster album production and mixing and try to make it sound deep and artistic. Looking back at her previous albums, that's just baffling, even Lust for Life was more intricate in some regards (just on a production point of view to be clear).
  11. and also you guys need to learn the difference between hating on an album and thinking the album is actually great, but the production is just extremely lackluster.
  12. Seriously though... what is it that actually makes you think that Jack is like legit a good producer? I'm genuinely concerned.
  13. You can smack talk all you want Jared, we don't need to "elevate" Honeymoon as it already sits atop her discography. Also you're a Jackoff Stroganoff stan like???
  14. When it's already on top? You're literally a Jack Antonoff stan like... is that what you mean by "All propaganda with no basis in reality! "?
  15. I agree with you so much, not saying that NFR is a bad record. It definitely holds its own in today's music landscape. But, like you said, Honeymoon feels vastly superior as a mood album, and I even venture to say that Honeymoon feels vastly superior, period. For the life of me, I just cannot enjoy the production on NFR, it feels so lifeless and bland. I don't know what happened when they produced and mixed this album, but something definitely got lost. It's funny to me how Lana talks a big game about Jack's musicianship, but I don't think that this actually comes through on this album. For a couple days now I've been listening to a couple songs on this album on my way to work and school... here's a few thoughts. The title track, it's a beautiful song, but I don't know with what kind of microphone the piano part was recorded but it sounds hella cheap (weird cheap reverb with each piano notes...), also the same goes for the mixing of her vocals, and I hate how it gets super subdued/muted towards the end with the "bluuuue" it was actually time for this song to come through both intrumentally and vocally, but it all goes into oblivion... choices. This is probably the biggest let down for me on this album btw, I mean, in some songs the instrumentals have this "high school band" vibe, like on The greatest, although it's one of my favourite songs on the record, the instrumentals sound really distorted and the instruments themselves sound messy. Also, I understand that a lot of people regard Venice Bitch as one of her best songs, and while I really like it, I just don't feel like the 6 minutes instrumentals adds much to the song. Just really weirdly recorded guitar licks and the "woah wha-ever, wha-ever, beautiful" or whatever. I'm not going to pretend like this song is a masterpiece just because it's 10 minutes long. It just has this really dry/flat tone that I cannot get my head around, it lacks bass and beats (except on Cinnamon Girl and How To Disappear), but as for the rest of this album it's flat. All in all, I don't want to give a bad/negative review of each songs on this record, but to me I don't know what was the intention for this album, but either Jack sucks as a producer, or the intent for this album was to make it sound lazy/cheap. Glad that a lot of people are enjoying it, and it's definitely a step above Lust for Life, but to me Lana's mystery/mysticism and slick production has been gone since Honeymoon, and it is a bummer.
  16. True, but also Kacey hasn't had the entire music industry working against her for the past seven years
  17. This is exactly why I want Dan to make his glorious comeback as Lana's producer. Sorry, but Jack's production, while it was somewhat cute (I guess?), was lifeless, flat and dry. Whereas Dan's production style was much more balanced, Jack's style is way too subtle and subdued. Just listen to the demo and final versions of both West Coast and Sad Girl. That is God's work!
  18. Screw you. I honestly can't with y'all fake ass feminists going against other women for sharing their experiences, calling them problematic and saying they romanticize shit and whatnot. She's an artist she doesn't have to oblige to your so called SJWs book of rules, she can do what she wants. If anything trying to act like she's all about girl power/Hollywood feminism all of a sudden actually makes her look quite disingenuous in my honest opinion. She was just tired of being labeled as problematic by these so called music critics and twitter/tumblr SJWs so she just changed her narrative and it shows, and it's honestly just sad.
  19. I see no lies... Through the years I've honestly just come to the conclusion that Ms Del Rey simply hates performing. She really loves being in the studio, but she hates being on stage and it shows. She doesn't even look like she enjoys being up there and perform to her tour babiez like there's literally no reason to perform a set as short as an hour and fifteen minutes when you're literally there to promote your latest effort AND when you have five albums, an EP and 47298357510398 unreleased songs under you belt, unless you hate performing. We truly are stanning a self-sabotaging kween
  20. Can you actually believe that her team teases working on building up this tour and also Lana said in an interview earlier this month that she likes creating narrative for her shows when she's basically just singing the same songs over and over again and sometimes randomly adds a few songs in the mix like... A LIE. Also, I've seen Lana three times live now, twice in a venue and once in a Festival. Looking back the only time it really was worth seeing her was the second time, The Endless Summer Tour, it was just perfect, a spotless performance. She's really just that lazy, I think. I've seen smaller and bigger acts than Lana and like not one of them gave performance as short as Lana's and when or if they did, they really compensate by giving it all. I've seen a lot of people come for Lana for that lackluster and disappointing concert/setlist, I think most of us are just fed up with what definitely looks like a rip off. It's such a disappointment because I really truly love Lana, but her concerts are just so random and basic, ugh.
  21. She did five songs off the record she's named the tour upon... I mean I wouldn't have said anything if she gave yet again another random name for this tour, but it's literally called the Norman Fucking Rockwell Tour, yet out of twenty songs she sang only five. That's really silly, especially knowing she was heard soundchecking to more than that.
  22. also she loves that tour lyfe so much and always talk a big game about loving touring in interviews... Girl, you're on stage for an hour at most, you perform the same overlplayed songs you've been singing for eight years AND you take selfies with the same five creepy fans that follow you everywhere. That's all there is. I'm glad she didn't come near me this time around, I just saved money for acts that are actually worth spending money on! Love you Lana, but after being a fan for quite some time now, the truth is: your concerts ain't it.
