I don’t think it’s an unpopular opinion considering half the internet is dragging her and this record through the mud its interesting to think how this record might have been perceived if Taylor wasn’t simultaneously one of most loved/hated stars on the planet. Like I don’t think it’s truly possible for most people to give an opinion good or bad that isn’t at least a little bit influenced by whether you’re over her or still here for her. And like totally disregarding the music, it was clear the polarized reaction it’s getting was obviously what was going to happen with this record the moment it was announced.

The way I planned on only listening to a couple tracks and then falling asleep to finish it tomorrow and somehow I’ve fully made it through to So High School with no signs of stopping. but seriously I’m enjoying this! More than midnights for sure. It’s crazy the review bombing happening to this album online rn.

Maybe it’s the weed but the production here feels a lot warmer and lusher than it did on midnights. All the mixed reception had me worried but I think I like this more than the last one. I’m not the full way through the record but everything is very immediate.

I’m still waiting for my road to become lonely but exciting

So I really enjoy the whole record but there’s a tiiiiiiny part of me that thinks about the timeline we could’ve gotten a 10 or 11 track record full of Cardinals and Jade Greens. Those songs back to back have so much of the witchy power we have been manifesting in Lana all these years. I digress, it’s a lovely record and in addition to those two tracks I also love Too Good, Giver/Taker, Heaven Is, Lonely Millionaire.

Poor Things was my absolute favorite film of the year so seeing Emma win was incredible, but it would have been equally deserved and perhaps more profound if Lily had taken it. She elevated Killers of the Flower Moon so significantly with her presence and gave one of the most moving performances in recent memory. As it stands, though, I’m so happy for Emma. She is incredible and Poor Things was the most profoundly moving film I’ve seen since pre pandemic times.

Eternal sunshine (song) is gorgerella

I’m being 100 percent honest when I say there are bits of the song fight against your fleshy lust that are reminiscent of Kate Bush. The melody on “I can’t help but say” is Kate coded, and the wordy cacophonous chorus is reminiscent of the bridge and final chorus of Running Up that Hill. Is any of that intentional? Idk, but it makes for an interesting listen.

Honestly the green brat cover is a serve. Give us everything by give us nothing. The mind of a mastermind. As someone who cares increasingly less about visuals over time I feel like this is actually kinda fun.

Yessssss, I've been obsessed with Lucky and Ice, and the whole album sounds nice, though I need to devote more time to listening closely for the rest of it to sink in.

Awww, I think Houdini is pretty darn good. Tho this new one did not strike a chord with me immediately.

Knowing she’s been working on the country album for 4 years, I’m not too worried about the Quavo track being on there. It’s probably for another record that’s already being started as well.
