So sad this was supposed to be the UV video but whatever - if it's linked to mtwbt at least aesthetically maybe she'll finally create a cohesive visual/storyline like she was supposed to with magnum opus UV
-
Lmao and she's the girl who wrote "there's only 24 hoooouuuurrrrsss" bring it on lizzie

Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth criticizes Lana in memoir
Kommando replied to Deleted User's topic in Latest News
Lmao poor Kim, since the divorce she's been such a mess it's truly a shame. She literaly spent the last 20 years trashing Courtney when she did produce her first record and was very happy to hang around Kurt and her on MTV with Thurston. She's just posing as this "woman in rock when there was none" like the 70s never existed and her video art is a joke. She's finished. -

Freak could have been a career highlight tho. Too bad everything's so meh about heunnymeün -
She's so cute She wasn't that anxious I think, it's just that she didn't have anything to say. You have two types of acceptance speeches usually, the very basic-poppy-i-sell-them-records style like "loool thxxxx ^^ love u mom and my manaaaggeer thanks my fans".Then people like Gaga who use every opportunity they have to drop two lines on the social issue of the moment, so then people online start spreading "this is so important tbh smh proud of mom" stuff etc. I can't see Lana doing anything like this (thx to god). Now, you're Lana Del Rey. You've been trashed for 4 years for being fake, untalented, a cunt, a misogynistic uneducated prick bringing the 30s women status back in the game. You've been the subjet of dozens of essays, from angry Tumblr social justice warriors to pretentious pitchfork indie guys. Everyone ignores the fact that you've spent 5 years of your life prior to that making your own weird music with little feedback, when it could easily prove that you're a dedicated musician. You're kind of weird and everytime you sneak out of your house, it ends up with headlines about you being suicidal or sexist. You can't get anyone to discuss your point of view because you're in a very bold and scientistic country when it comes to what can be discussed on mainstream medias etc. Plus, it's not hard to get you upset, so anyway you being an educated and open woman doesn't interest anyone. Reviewers, up until HM, were cold for the most part, and they usually misunderstood your intentions/lyrics, when post-BTD music clearly wasn't that litterate or ambigious compared to what you were capable of before. You release HM doing your own thing, with minimal and failed promo (it's obvious something went wrong with the hotline etc.), going deeper in the areas where you usually get the mosty agressive feedback from everyone, even your fans. Suddently, you get good reviews almost everywhere, you manage to sell 500 000 records in 3 months and you get awarded for being a "traiblazer woman" in music, an inspirational figure. I mean wtf ? She's already being generous by showing up and acting nice ; although, well, I think she's just surprised, it's so random.

Her look was so on point during the UV era (well when it was alive and breathing before the UV video disaster) she has yet to reach again her may & june 2014 level of femme fatalness
-
She should try to send Lana an email or something, it's getting embarassing now

Queen of undiagnosed alzheimer -
Is the "Rai-rai, rai-raise me up" part actually "Ray Ray, Ray raise me up" 'cause you know, Ray's a guy in Kill Kill and such. I feel dumb for asking this but I've been wondering for at least 3 years so

I love how subtle "The Ocean" was as a title, mysterious, vague and beautiful, only making sense in the chorus

Lana : I didn't do much with UV because I simply didn't have that many visual ideas *Uses UV outakes for HM videos* Maybe it's just part of a short film ? or a Neil Krug project... But most likely a WC era vid yeah -

I don't know, it seems like being revulsed by all Lana's bf is the local sport around here. I mean even tho most of us are underaged twinks, there's way way more to life than the Nick Jones type of guys

come on Delicious is fuckin hilarious, that's genius in its most bare form. I don't think I ever saw anyone talk about it, but her guitar playing style is actually interesting, espacially after the Sirens stuff. Songs from the pre-AKA/AKA era like Disco, Oh Say Can You See, Yayo, For K P2... Have an unusual yet simple and original style of chords, very Cat power-like (which makes sense since she's a fan), minimalistic but also dark and folky, which suited her music. Mostly fingerpicking 2 fingers chords, which she probably came up with naturally from the way she used to play major chords in the Sirens era. I wonder if she's still writing on the guitar tho, the Joshy & I leak was recorded around 2010-2011 and if she's the one playing in the recording, it's possible she's playing the bass ( ) or most likely a guitar in an alternate tuning, which would be a very interesting development in her guitar style. Can't wait for her to be 45 and do an accoustic tour, Graham4everything tea. Also about her decline in quality as a writer, apart from the fact that she doesn't seek inspiration somewhere else etc... I think the biggest issue is the shift in her writing process. She's always improvised songs lyrics, but from the AKA/BTD interviews it's clear that she also spent a lot of time writing, correcting, assembling the lyrics and her ideas... Crafting the whole thing in maybe a more pragmatic fashion. Since UV I think she doesn't really talk about writing lyrics or working on songs that way, it seems like it's mostly improvisation/figuring out lyrics rather than maybe sitting down afterwards to work on them, examples being PWYC or HBTB. We can't really know, but now she just looks easily satisfied by her writing while she's spending months on the mixing, when obviously there's some issues on the songwriting. She just needs to put new perspective in her work and also to change her environment, which is composed in parts, of people sucking her ass 24/7 (her composers like Rick, her team, some random "artists" that stick around her), people being really harmful to her work and her personally (I think HM is the first record where she doesn't have any of the plain stupid pressures she got from Interscope) and also her working with people that aren't suited for her craft/aren't that competent just because she likes them (her sister etc). -
I'm pretty sure it's inspired by a beach boys cover, but I'm not sure. Whatever, I love it, it's hilarious and I adore her look. Why are yall crying when she doesn't look glamorous or shit, let her be something else than a twinks' diva

Well OK Edit: for the e-mail thing they implied that they had to detail their questions by e-mail before meeting her IRL, not interview her through e-mail, which is just a usual thing I guess. I do remember how she used to take the paper guys for a ride to the psychics with her and then to the beach... I guess since the UV mess she can't and don't want to do that anymore, they often just play around with her and then bring another contribution to this great game of theirs where they try to find the best one line jokes about top 40 artists. But it's just that the never ending conflict between her appetite for glamour, recognition etc and her lust for peace and respect for her artistry is tiring now. You can't randomly act like Rihanna when you're more like a poppier Fiona Apple idk. As for Interscope not being that interested in HM well that's pretty clear, and it's not like there was much to promote about it when most people today can't stand a song that's longer than 3mn. And Lana isn't really out to promo the shit out of it either. She looks satisfied just to be doing her thing, and it's amazing to see her putting together little projets for the record, but that won't go beyond cute MVs or pictures on the HM account realistically. She's never crazy loca about doing anything after a record, apart from videos. -

Idk if it's off topic but : http://www.telerama.fr/musique/lana-del-rey-en-roue-libre,131789.php There was a paper about Lana on a website in my country today, mostly the usual ramble :"she's enigmatic, she's lazy, she croons dark pop songs" etc, but on the last section they evoked her conditions for interviews and she asks journalists to not listen to her record, the questions have to be asked only through emails and they must give her the cover and more things they don't detail I can't with the whole "I hate the press" thing when in fact she's such a diva -
I think by soft grunge she litteraly meant, well, singing grunge but softly or maybe a ballade idk. She's 30 you guys, and she lived the grunge days as a kid + she's bff with Courtney Love... Come on
