It's not like you would spread constructiveness or harmony either way. -

I just hope Emile won't work with her again. Born To Die is a great album (apart from Lolita, which he completely ruined and which I will never forgive) but he is only capable of creating ONE kind of sound. Wait For Life has shown this. It may have been a nice song for the Emile lovers but let's be serious: Many would be bored by her very quickly if she would go on with the same kind of sound forever and it's not like WFL is a very inspired or original song. -

So, can anyone record the aired version of I'm A Ruin tonight?

The part in Because of You where there is a short gap of silence after "I don't wanna lose it, I'm in love, but I didn't choose it" and she kicks in with "Roses in my hair, dancing in the air, feels like I'm flying - Tell me you love me, boy, do it" ... this part always gets me

As much as I love BtD, I don't want to see Emile on Honeymoon. If WFL has teached us anything, then it is that he won't ever do something new with Lana. We would get the same stuff again, but this time it would get boring because it would show how Lana isn't progressing. I like it if artists try out different styles during each era, you may not like one of them, but in the end it's much more fun this way. Different style doesn't have to mean different producer, but Emile seems to be stuck with this one style he produces. I would love to see an album full of OTTR, YCBTB, Florida Kilos, Kill Kill, Hawaiian Tropic, In The Sun and Because Of You's. But if she REALLY goes for a jazz style this time, that would be intetesting too. -
So the next single will be called "What Kind of Man"?

OOOh, if Lana is supposed to make "the first step" then I don't see that Moroder thing happening, -

Well, even though I am thankful for everything we get (Flipside ) , I'd prefer to NOT have exclusive tracks this time, but rather one deluxe edition for everyone, so it's possible to have to complete album on one CD! It was only possible so far with Born To Die (before they took the Deluxe edition off the market in favor of the the Paradise edition). -

"I don't see how that's possible" -
I feel sorry for Marina. She was so enthusastic and happy about the whole FROOT machine, but her team just sucks. First, they are too stupid to run the website, so all the lyrics leak and we already got to see Happy and Immortal promo stuff before it should have been seen. Then, they send out the singles information out too soon, so we knew what the "Froot Of The Month"'s would be. And now, they let the vinyl stores send out the Immortal/I'm A Ruin single too soon and seemingly didn't gave them any clear instructions for the prewievs. I hope this won't happen with the next two Froots or even the whole album ... Considering I'm A Ruin ... Like I said, it's my least favourite Froot so far but I suspect it's a grower. Immortal was a first-second love for me, Froot took a few listens before I could fully appreciate it. Happy .. I like it but the religious undertones gave me a hard time, but now that Marina confirmed that it's not about religion (and now that some time has passed after it was released) I also like it a lot. I'm A Ruin .. I was a little bit underwhelmed. It's like a shallow scratching on Happy and Immortal's sound with Electra Heart-esque lyrics and a more upbeat instrumental. But I have to admit it has a catchy melody, so maybe I'll love it after listening to it more often.

Hm .. judging from the snippet this will not become my favourite Froot. Let's see how it'll sound in full ... So far: Immortal + Froot > Happy > I'm A Ruin

Well, maybe it won't be a lead single, but .. one song from the record, which may not even get much single attention but will be one of her favs. The same way she performed Body Electric a lot before the Paradise release -
Hm .. I get the idea of the song and I think it#s good. The execution ... meh. The instrumental sounds like a "block", not really many instruments playing together. Emile did this on BtD a few times aswell, however, this time it's a bit more striking. The loom is a bit random, I don't really feel it. It's not nearly as fitting as in Million Dollar Man. But I like this "thrown in" e-guitar strings during the chorus, reminds me of Gods & Monsters and Carmen. The production .. sounds a bit raw. Her voice sounds a bit like a filtered acapella layed over an instrumental, and the whole song feels like you would listen to it with low quality headphones. The bridge also sounds thrown in. It starts out of nowhere, doesn't really fit the parts that come before and both lyrically and sonically it's unfitting. Talking about her voice, I don't really hear Born To Die Lana. The way she uses her voice her reminds me more of I Can Fly, Is This Happiness, Flipside and Big Eyes. The lyrics .. hm. At least she's a bit "critical" towards her lover but yeah ... The chorus is better than in her previous efforts but somehow there isn't much emotion going on there for me. Basically, it's a nice song and I could imagine I will need some time, so it can grow on me. But right now, I don't feel like it's something that will "satisfy" me for long, just like it was with the Big Eyes soundtrack songs. And I also don't want her to keep this style for Honeymoon. It's nice to have an instrumental style which is a thor back to Born To Die, but I don't feel like this would be any kind of "artistic progress". Apart from that, that#s not the style I imagine if I think about "Honeymoon" and Mark Ronson.

All the people mistaking fans, who like "promo" because it provides interesting stuff from the artist they love with people who only want promo because they only care about charts. Promoting an album doesnt interfere with being a "serious" artist.
