I'll never get the ICF love .... The song is uneventful, the chorus sounds at least as forced as the Big Eyes one and the lyrics are a pain. Big Eyes may be a bit messy production wise and the best part really is the bridge and the last chorus, but it has a more "dramatic" and emotional feeling. If she would have been nominated with IVF, her chances would have been 0 from the start.

Oh my, funny how it's always the people who insist on their own opinions that make sharp comments about the opinions of others. Neither did I say she can't sing about what she wants to nor did I say that all the songs have to be relate-able/ all of her past ones were. the song is great and sounds wonderful and raw but it's also very intimate and this makes me feel a bit uncomfortable when it comes to this kind of spiritual stuff. You are right about this one, I guess my strong feelings on the first listening were a bit of misinterpretation yeah the transition is a bit weird

It's so silly how people keep on saying that she did something which wouldglamourize rape or portray it as something good. The reactions are just so out of place and showmanship. She's acting, I doubt that this was a" camera test" and "without context". No go on and drag every actress/actor that has been involved in a rape scene in a movie.

I want to love this song, but the spiritual undertone during the last part makes it so hard for me, even though I like the general lyrical direction of the first part and the overall sound.

I had a pretty bad day, but then I come home and HAPPY is out *_* It really sounds beautiful, I love the chorus and how it builds up. Also, the small irony of the song being about happiness, although sounding sad and a bit bitter is depicted very well with it being a lemon ^^ But still, the last part with the religious references ruins the "I can relate"-thing for me. You are dead to me.

If Happy is a stripped back ballad, a b/w cover among the disco-style could be very fitting plus it's a great pic. I prefer the lightening to the Froot-single-cover and -promo pic.

If they really use this WC outtake as a cover ...

Haha, well I agree with you on the part that BE is very soundtrack-ish, the lyrics of the second verse are stupid and the production/construct of the song is a bit messy. But I think it's a great song, however it would need a bit ... more of whatever. It's the same with FMWUTT, both are great songs but just when you get into some kind of mood, the song is already ending. I Can Fly .. no, I don't like it the more I listen to it. The lyrics are meh and the way she sings them reserves them a seat for "the most boring lyrics" next to Lucky Ones and Cruel World. The chorus however is the worst part for me. This "IIIIIIIIII can FLYHYHYHYYYYYYY" is so .. exhausting and, how leaked would call it, "faux-emotion". It kind of reminds me of Angels Forever, Forever Angels, just without any passion/beauty in it. I prefer Guns And Roses to it anytime.

Oh come on ... the songs are good and fit the movie, but it's general "I thought i could trust you" stuff, seemingly including ONE scene from the movie where she actually paid attention, where they are sunbathing in the garden. "I had bright wishes in the summer, I was bathing in sunlight, Painting in the garden," "I saw you creeping around the garden" "I noticed you got hot in summer You had no comfort Your shirt was cotton Your face was sunburned You paced around like you’d been waiting Waiting for something" I mean like, the whole second verse of BE is lyrically stupid as hell. It's good soundtrack music but far away from a "diary in song form".

I love Big Eyes and i think ICF is an ok-song, too. But the lyrics. .. they are overrated! It's like Lana was asleep for some big parts of the movie and just caught a garden scene, set in the summer, where he lurks around and wears a cotton shirt while she is painting

This looks like the one scene of the "Behind The Scenes" video from the Neil Krug "Complex" photoshoot at the beach ... I like how this is an actual more mature photoshoot. All of the others we have so far are quite Born-To-Die-esque, just more simple and with dark hair and a different kind of editing. This shoot actually makes her look more "mature". The onyl other UV photoshoot that succeeded with this so far is the Madame Figaro one. Although I don't like that almost every picture features a fur ...

I Can Fly reminds me of Angels Forever a bit. The composition is better than Big eyes, it has a more clear structure - however i prefer Big Eyes to it.

I have to I am a bit underwhelmed too. The transitions between the chorus and verses are a bit ... "random" and connection-less. And it should have built up a bit more "action" during verse 2. I still like it, but it's not as impressive as I hoped it to be. The best part is still the third chorus/bridge/last chorus part.

I guess she did it because she actually wrote the sing herself and it was not "just done" for a movie, she had it before it was added to the soundtrack. And i amnot sure about Ride ... she dropped it in her latest shows.
