  1. I'm not really an Azealia fan, not because I think she's bad or anything, but it#s juts not my kind of genre. However, I like how her album has some kind of lounge-y feeling at some point and isn't just flat female rap-stuff like Nicky or Uggy. Wouldn't have expected this. For example I really like Miss Camaraderie, JSK and Desperado and there are other songs that may grow on me, like Wallace, Luxury and Nude Beach A Go Go. I even may get the CD at some point. Seems to be a decent record to listen to when you are driving at night.
  2. Caro Emerald The Lipstick On His Collar Doesn't Seem To Match Mine / You Don't Love Me / Black Valentine/ I Know That He's Mine So, I think Caro Emerald songs are just perfect for Lana, since Caro aims for a retro-style, which would easily fit Lana aswell. TLOHCDSTMM is a sad ballad about a woman who finds out her man is cheating on her. Lyrically and sonically, this just screams Lana. You Don't love me is a bit more upbeat, but I think it would still not be out of place if Lana covered it. It has a very cinematic and dramatic feeling and the lyrics about a woman, who is in love with a man who is not really interested in her is also Lana-suitable. Black Valentine ismore like a nice, romantic and semi-dark lovesong, which is not focussed on lyrics that much, but more on the feeling it is supposed to create. I could really see Lana doing this songs in a way similar to her Blue Velvet / The Other Woman covers. And "I Know That He's Mine" would both fit her Shades Of Cool persona and her musical style. Take a listen, even if you may not share my opinion, Caro might be interesting for you if you like Lana's "Vintage Beauty Queen" persona (ignore the brain-dead underwear commercial video)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncbFiXUYFUM Amanda Jenssen - Ghost Another retro-esque song with freak-show-ish darkness (Jenssens song Carnival was used in the AHS FS trailers btw). The lyrics, similar to CW, are about what Lana would call "virulent love" and becoming distanced with a "bad boyfriedn". Could imagine Lana doing this in a Gods&Monsters - ish way. the bird and the bee - Diamond Dave Another song which is way more upbeat, but would perfectly fit Lana. It also has this retro-cinematic pop vibe and the lyrics about the girl and her love for an older musician (which serves as a metaphor for a tribute to Van Halen singer David Lee Roth) are fitting and sound good. The whole thing has some kind of Queen Of Disaster - vibe. Faye Richmonde - My Pussy Belongs To Daddy Ok, I know she wouldn't do it, but the lyrics and the vintage sound ... I just would love to hear her performing it
  3. I already posted my unreleased-playlists, so here is the one featuring her official released songs Vulgar Darling Cola Blue Jeans National Anthem West Coast Florida Kilos Million Dollar Man Gods & Monsters Shades Of Cool Yayo Burning Desire (on my Itunes) / Ultraviolence (on my Spotify) Lolita Pretty When You Cry Body Electric Money Power Glory Without You Fucked My Way Up To The Top The playlist is like ashort compilation of my favourite Lana songs (well, at least most of them. Ride, Diet Mountain Dew, Carmen and Brooklyn Baby are missing, but they just didn't fit into the playlist) and unlike my unreleased playlists, it's not really build around the titel song, I just liked the phrase (how Tropico of me btw). I tried to include my favourite "transitions" with this playlist, like the one from Cola t Blue Jeans to National Anthem or the one from West Coast to Florida Kilos to Million Dollar Man or Lolita to Pretty When You Cry, I also pursued he ideo of having FMWUTTT as the closer track and Cola as the opening.
  4. Let's all agree we'll take anything, no matter if it's Brooklyn Baby, Sad Girl, Guns And Roses or This Is What Makes Us Girls as long as it's neither a lyrics nor a remix video.
  5. The remix itself is quite nice but .. well yeah, not what you usually expect when a video is announced.
  6. When was "HAPPY" confirmed to happen?
  7. Ok, I know some of you guys will hate me for this, but this is how I would change Ultraviolence: So now the reason why I'd change it like this: I also tried out this song order as an Itunes playlist and it sounds very good to me.
  8. Hm ... Brooklyn Baby is a great song, I would love smething Carmen-like (just with more low-res-vintage-Lana-in-the-city scenes and less random stuff). However, I think Money Power Glory would really be a good choice.
  9. I mean, the song is good, but with this video ..
  10. you really wanna try out how long I can play this game? :hairflip2:
  11. *Gods & Monsters melody * Is Ultraviolence lost?
  12. There is a difference between performing a few old songs because everyone likes them and doing the same playlist over an over again because you are lazy. Lana had a new album released, usually artists perform mostly new songs and 1/2 old songs then before doing a "mix" playlist again
  13. Thunder Revenant

She collabed with I-G-G-Y. DId you really expect anything good to happen?
  14. Yeah, but that was not the OP question, was it?
  15. ok I agree with you in this point. If you are really searching for JF elements in her music you may find them at some points. But that would mean she has influences from a genre which is influenced by jazz. But that was not the subject, was it? People claime there are Jazz-Influences all over the place and that she does her own kind of jazz on UV. However, the only reason they believe this is because Lanz throws the word "Jazz" around a lot lately and because it sounds artsy to say your fave does future jazz or anything like this. Because you would never ever associate her with actually DOING jazz music when you hear her music. Maybe if you went into real depth you could say "Some parts of UV could even be influenced by genres like Jazz fusion". But that's it.
  16. Afraid, easy choice. Boring and not really special in any way. I like the rest, I guess my second "least-liked" one is Teenage Wasteland.
  17. Well, if y'all are insisting ... In my opinion the jazz-connection is reaching on high levels, because it's nothing that obviously strikes you when you listen to ANY Lana Del Rey song, But I guess opinions are opinions. Still I think it's wrong to associate Lana to jazz. I am not a Gaga stan, but IF one of them is actually doing jazz music, it's Gaga. I can see rock influences, alternative, indie and pop influences for Lana, but no Jazz connection.
  18. and some people obviously want Lana to be jazz-influenced so hard that they will just repeat it until they believe it themselves.
  19. Still it sounds average because her coice doesn't fit the song and the accent is so overexaggerated. Plus they should have picked a song with less explicity. Or at least also changed the anachronism line aswell, when they already crippled some lines ( I mean, of course the character of Lange wouldn't use explict words, but "oh yeah give it to me" sounds so flat) I think they mostly picked the song because it's a dark one and the most "freak-ish", without considering the problems resulting from some of the lyrics.
  20. Darling .. just ... no. The Other Woman is a jazz song. But Lana's version is no jazz version. Nothing on UV has anything to do with jazz. The only thing where you could see a vague jazz influence with lots of goodwill is Sad Girl, but that's it. My parents are big jazz fans, so I know how jazz sounds, how different classic and less classic versions of jazz sound. Lana's music has 0 to do with jazz. There is this difference between "influence" and "inspiration" which lots of fans have missed. Go ask anyone who is not a Lana fan if he hears jazz influences. he will laugh at you. Y'al are reaching for this because Lana keeps on brabbeling about jazz. But just because she loves jazz music and because it's one of her new favourite words, this won't magically add jazz influences to her music.
  21. YEAH REALLY SO TRUE I NOTICED IT TOO! The only difference is that Gags actually makes Jazz music and Lana just keeps on repeating the word "J-A-Z-Z" but her music really has nothing to do with the genre. Even though some fans here really start to believe she does "Future Jazz" or anything ... So you can say that she at least brainwashed them successfull
  22. I mean, this would be great but don't get too excited. We all know that, in case of doubt, artists need loooonger than expected (hence we all are Marina AND Lana fans ...)
