Well, depends on how it's done. Some songs like Gods & Monsters, Cola, Young & Beautiful, Body Electric or Carmen had beutiful rearrangements where they don't use strings at all and it sounds good. And then there have been performances of songs like Born To Die or Ultraviolence which she played with prerecorded violins. This is really stupid, becuase either way she has to bring strings or don't use them. I don't like it if an artist has big parts of ther instrumentals prerechorded (don't like how FMWUTTT was already completely prerechorded too)

Lana to feature on Barrie's upcoming album!
Thunder Revenant replied to NamiraWilhelm's topic in New Releases
Barrie announced a new song for today, however all that came was an announcement for a video tomorrow combined with a (non music) snippet of this video. The last angle shows the mouth of a woman. Could be our girl, couldn't it? Maybe we already get Riverside? ... would be cool! And a nice birthday gift for me The only thing that makes me doubt is that we see the woman#s lower body earlier in the snippet, and there are no long nails to be seen. -
I really like how she begins to really add new songs to the playlist (I guess she will slowly start to replace the Paradise era songs with UV ones now). The Old Money version is really great! I hope we will get more soon, even if it's just her performing MPG and FMWUTTT again. As for Cruel World ... You all know I really dislike the song, it just hasn't got enough to offer for being so f*cking long. However, I think her live performance is much more interesting than the drag that is on the record. I could not imagine it as anything else than the opener, so I guess this is ok (and she was already teasing this with her fake snippets, maybe the snippet will be a part of the live variation, like Cola had this "we can work it out, and make it real nice, yeah we can work it out" live line). i preferred Cola, since i lvoe the song and think it was a good opener, however I think I am ok with new stuff. And it's not as frustrating as with Cola when she walks through the audience, cause you won#t miss anything from the song she hasn't already sung 3 or 4 times during the first minutes of it

Lana Del Rey to be covered in American Horror Story
Thunder Revenant replied to Dopeanddiamonds's topic in Latest News
MPG is kind of unlikely, too. But yeah, my bets would be on Y&B or MDM. Watch how they ignore all odds and take Video Games -
So this one is just all of my favourite songs (you know, the ones you REALLY love) arranged in a way I think it sounds pleasing. And here are two of my favourite "Various Artists" playlists, which I really like to play either when I am in a sad mood or when I want to slow down a bit.

I guess ITH is a good Itunes track... It's good, but not something "essential" to the album. Flipside is a good "Deluxe Closing Track". But in the end FK is a Deluxe Track and for some reason Lana doesn't really care for the deluxe tracks on this album, so I think it's ok that it doesn't blend with the rest of the album. In the end, I am very happy we have it, it's a beautiful way more upbeat song and I think a little bit of diversity is a nice thing to have on an album.

L'Uomo Vogue - October 7th, 2014 [Print]

Another style change would be gr8. I mean, I don't worry much about it cause Lana will always stay Lana and different approaches can be very good. As long as you keep some kind of essence ... -

It's embarissing how I thought my internet was just slow as f*ck and waited til a video/picture whatever would pop up -
I posted this into the "Questions" thread, but since noone who could help me answers, I will try it with a new topic. Whenever I want to send a PM to anyone, which is longer than one line, this error message (or a similar one) appears. Now, it's not that I would have a full PM box, I only use 5% of my "storage". And I also don't send super long messages. I also have the feeling that I can not recieve messages either way, since for example Heartcore wanted to send me something and I never got it (and i do not assume that he is a canceller like Lana). Can anyone (a mod?) help me?

I am getting so annoyed because of all this "Lana doesn't need promo" and "Do you only care for the charts, Lana focusses on her music and not the sales" posts .. like really guys, atm she is lazy as f*ck. Even if there was a desease that caused her to cancel all of this gigs, she doesn't give a sh*t about singles, music videos or performances. And all of these things are things, which are not just publicity work, no, they are also important for fans. It's not neccecary to go all big like with Ride (I mean like ... the production was indeed big and expensive, but the video is sh*t and I would always prefer stuff like the Carmen music video) but at least a little bit of promo would have been nice. And this "the Ultraviolence video is so deep and has many metaphors" is self-delusion as well in my eyes. It's a lazy and boring video, which isn't even as atmospheric as it could have been, even if it would've been simple like it is.

Interesting topic ... Especially this "Liz" comment and the message @ Vinnie. Although I wouldn't connect this just because of this 3 words .. I mean like ... the garden of eden is nothing Lana exclusive and so is mentioning children

Do you drink more Diet Mt. Dew and Pepsi?
Thunder Revenant replied to PennCentralFan's topic in Lana Thoughts
I started to drink more Pepsi ... sometimes as a joke, when I am with friends who also know the song, but generally i don't despise it as much as before. Although I still concider it waay to sweet and chemical ( concerning the taste, I know Coca Cola is as chemic and sweet as Pepsi ... it just tastes better). Diet MNT Dew made me TRY the drink once .. but like i expected, it is definitly NOT my taste ... -
Lullaby Versions of Lana's songs Released
Thunder Revenant replied to Creyk's topic in Lana Thoughts
I am not sure how to feel about my urge to have them xD Dark Paradise sounds cute as f*ck *_* -
Even though I am not a big Cat Power fan, I have to agree on the point that Lana's lyrics aren't the deepest ones. She has good ones, but yeah, most of her songs lyrically turn out the same, although she is indeed good of "crafting" the lyrics to sound wonderful in the context of the song. This doesn't make these songs less relatable, but if I compare her to (more recent) songwriter artists like Marina or Florence, I have to admit that Lana is not THE source of innovative lyrics. Even songs that are said to be "personal" often come out sounding quite ... well, "what Lana does" like. That is nothing i dislike, but it's a fact. At least when it comes to everything she officially released. For example almost everything is about love and depending on a partner. Judging from the unreleased content, I would say that AKA is definitly more indie concerning sound AND lyrics (indie does not always mean big lyrics). May Jailer ... well, the songs really always tell a kind of story and have more content than most of her BTD and UV songs. There are other unreleased songs which are not that "song-writer"-y as the May Jailer era but somehow seem more complex, because they have lots of metaphors etc. (Last Girl On Earth). Still, Lana songwriter wise is definitly above the average level in my eyes.

These ones are actually songs I thought about putting on my list too (except maybe GAR)

'Ultraviolence' Songs Added to Setlist
Thunder Revenant replied to beyondthedope's topic in Latest News
I don't think she is a boring performer. but her sets are like almost always the same, or at least there is always a huge amount of songs which she will play everytime she performs (in the same arrangement) and then the rest will be chosen out of a pool of some songs she plays, which doesn't even contain everything she has officially released so far. Some shows were very good and diversie, like the one in Paris or Frankfurt. But others didn't had the best setlists, putting lots of very calm songs in a row like American, Without You and Ride . Would be more fun if there wasn't this "stiff" concept, since it's not like she would put on a big show like Gags. Not that I wanted her to do something like this, but if she focusses on the music and some backdrops, her shows could be way more diverse than they are. -
'Ultraviolence' Songs Added to Setlist
Thunder Revenant replied to beyondthedope's topic in Latest News
Since the number of songs on her setlist tends to decrease and the fact that she obviously doesn't want to sing much of the new songs, I wait for the day where she starts with Cola, goes down the stage to greet the audience, goes up again and sings National Anthem, does another audience-dive and leaves -
Born To Die: Million Dollar Man or Without You ... can't decide. Paradise: What a question .. THE LANA SONG a.k.a. Pussy a.k.a. Cola Ultraviolence: I guess it's hard to say this now, because we don't know which songs may be future singles. So I will go with Florida Kilos, since it's most likely not going to be a single ... Otherwise i would be torn between Pretty When You Cry and Money Power Glory. Don't worry, I get what you mean. I am a huge Burning Desire fan, too, relating it to a "special person" for some reason.
