Beyonce was coming back from her most successful era to date, not from a rape scandal. I'm judging her choice based on the circumstances--otherwise I think it was a logical next step following all the videos she had released.

Is a movie really the way to go as a return? They must be pouring a lot of money into it and hoping people take her back, otherwise she's done. I don't see why she didn't do a more traditional release in case she flops now.

I think if she wanted that she would've gone ahead and asked them to list her name and not stage name when publishing the interview and song. I think the possibility for a self titled (Marina or Marina Diamandis) album is definitely real though

Although I do still have sympathy, if they are aware that people have this information (plus literal songs) they should step it up. Beyonce and a ton of other artists do not have the same problem that Lana and Marina do. Florence's album literally did not leak. It's incredibly possible to keep your work secure but their labels refuse to protect them (or at the very least by starting legal action against those that still manage to get stuff.)

Sorry, I meant after she made the song but before release. If I remember correctly in that interview she makes it seem like she hadn't even realized how similar they were. Just seems funny to me that such resemblance can happen on accident.
