  1. I just think it's kind of interesting that she clearly likes the aesthetic of woodstock, the beat poets, idolises Bob Dylan etc but if she had been an artist at that time there's been little to no indication she'd be anything but a sell-out that people like Dylan would hate for their inactivism lol.
  2. Definitely not but some people get prompted to listen to what's going on, consider it, donate etc. People are really getting themselves caught up trying to excuse her silence. When she wrote a song about being at Coachella and feeling like she was at Woodstock, writing a song about wanting an America without gun violence (just before dating a cop lol), calling out Kanye West in his comments and a song, doing spells against Donald Trump she was your woke queen, but nah, just after calling people dragging her on twitter a "race war" it's fine that she stays silent and doesn't post donation links or anything to suggest she cares. And it's unreasonable that people are pissed about that apparently. This happens every single time I swear to god.
  3. I read it as her realising she needs to learn the difference between how someone presents themselves and how they really are. Not just in how they present themselves visually but how they act, how they say they are etc. You need to work to see what someone is really like, but that work can stop you from getting hurt further down the line.
  4. There are protests in her home state. Where she went on a papped date with her cop (ex?) BF less than a year ago. She's not obligated to say anything - personally I'd much rather she didn't write a statement or whatever, we all know how that turns out. But sharing links on her story like Ariana has would be encouraging to see after being told to believe in her good intentions and belief in reparations.
  5. I barely know you lmao. Not even sure if you're on the pages I was reading when I posted that. You think too highly of yourself. Much love x
  6. I'm not saying you're white at all. The majority of the people railing against WOC in particular and dismissing their insights on what Lana said are white. I didn't @ you. You quoted me. If you saw something in my post that made it feel like I was @ ing you, that's your issue.
  7. And where did I say POC have all the same opinions? Please, please quote where I said that. This whole thread is full of people saying "actually this POC thinking that is racist is wrong" so don't try and come for me because you saw yourself in what I said ;C
  8. White lanaboards members telling people of color their opinions and experiences of racism are wrong and bad, what's new
  9. Definitely not worth watching. I really couldn't care less what melon has to say about this.
  10. She said stuff when Lana posted the first thing on her private twitter iirc. I think she's just doing her own thing and doesn't care to get involved
  11. While I think it's very possible that she may have gone to a high-level rehab that knows how to keep who goes there quiet and unknown to the public (no shortage of them in California, surely) I read the institution title as more metaphorical. Feeling like you're not allowed to speak about your struggles publicly, possibly being addicted to prescription drugs (as alluded to by Banks and in ITH) could very well make a nice home by the beach feel like an institution. Maybe even her own home, if the number of steps going down to the beach in that vid and the number of steps in PLD match. Who knows though, writers and poets definitely don't have to be literal
  12. In the COCC in the COCC in the cockpit I'm your baby... Maybe it was a sign after all . ..
  13. You have zero clue why she changed her views at all and yet here you are with another book about how you wish Lana would take the red pill so she would be your 34 year old Lolita beauty queen again. BTD is still there, go and listen to that if you miss it so much.
  14. Hoping for something that really goes into the fucked-uppedness you see in the upper classes lol. Give me that "my momma" shit.
  15. Personally I'm not seeing that much shade in here? Though that could just be me. I sincerely hope she doesn't read here regularly because that wouldn't be too healthy, but this isn't a comment section, it's a discussion board.
  16. It sounded different to me too. Maybe she's just tired and speaking slower? Idk
  17. I hate melon head but something he kept mentioning in his NFR review was how she was very nurturing and caring in it, like in MAC and California. I think you can see this idea really well here. It's such a careful, heartbreaking, hopeful poem. Love that for her.
  18. Interesting thinking about it with the context of her poem today. I thought it was a very idyllic "should we go to the lake or the sea?" when it first came out. And all the connotations of "lake" too. Should we go home to lake placid or to the sea. Hm.
  19. The poetry book is *probably* for November so hopefully not, I doubt a publisher would allow an audiobook / album several months befor a physical release
  20. The way this era will give me stomach ulcers
  21. There were around 4 screenshots of group chats w her going around. 2 of them were fake (a really big message saying something like "you're all idiots that pay me dust".
  22. They're getting death threats allegedly
