True but that was the whole of the NFR shows anyway

It's weird how in the NFR pre-release there were pages and pages of unironic posts deciding what colour the vinyl should be based on the 10-second snippets of like 3 songs we had but once people start examining and discussing the political connotations of Lana's poetry they're told they're being too dramatic and sensitive who knows if she'll ever post another poem that can have so much said about it lol. I think this is the first time.

Of course the word can be used in certain contexts but considering she wrote RESIST right before it, with all its political connotations (the # resistance, etc) I'd be willing to bet she wasn't using it to link her emotions with the idea of microbiological colonisation of leaves or whatever lol

2020 USA Democratic Presidential General Election

She's a very wealthy woman who's proven herself not to be too politically aware. If it's Bernie I'd be pleasantly surprised, but I doubt it. I'd guess either Biden because he represents the """lost""" America that she felt safe in under Obama (and his presidency would benefit the wealthy), or Warren if she's slightly more switched on, more progressive, has a more palatable wealth tax than Bernie, and also has a history of being insensitive to Native Americans hashtag Girl Power. -
The inability of people of your political "opinions" to recognise the difference between people being "triggered" and people just condemning something never fails to not amaze me, given that your type whine about free speech before shutting down anyone else that doesn't agree with you I'd rather be on the side of those who are passionate than be someone whose politics centers entirely around hate and being too dense to understand and discuss the connotations of "poetic word usage", as you so ineloquently put it Agreed. Thank you Lana for putting him up.

The USA will fuck this up for everyone else I can feel it There's meant to be a shitton of unreported cases there And a virus specialist who had a ton of interviews scheduled had them all cancelled and was contacted by the administration to not speak without having them approve what he says. It's not a deadly disease if you're relatively healthy but as a new disease and one that can be deadly for the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions, this is quite scary. We don't know how fast it can mutate either. We're going to need a lot of brave specialists in the US to work against the administration to get the word out. Look up "pandemic bonds world bank wall street" if you need a hint as to why this staying minimal is good for Trump. An upside is that the virus is weak and dies in relatively low/high temps, e.g. 25/26 degrees C.

It's not about using the word in a good or bad way, it's using the word, with all its ties to political struggles that she's not a part of (that are still ongoing) to describe her personal feelings. It's like how Audre Lorde's concept of self care, which she coined and used as a radical act (because as a black woman who was ill she found the system was failing her), has now been co-opted by white and often wealthy people to use instead of "unwind" or relax. The concept of being colonised and how that can impact everyday life isn't for her, a white and wealthy woman born and raised (and who often glorifies) in a white settlet colony nation. I feel stupid typing all this on lanaboards about some Instagram video she put up but this segment of writing really rubbed me the wrong way, it has the same vibes as the whole "good intentions will shift the vibrational energies in Palestine" thing. It's a showcase of her privilege and I hope you get where I'm coming from lol. If it is indeed related (there's no confirmation that this is anything to do w VBBOTG) I doubt many Natives would be happy with a white woman comparing the brutal treatment of Natives to her having boyfriend troubles or problems with mainstream fame that got her filthy rich

Fully no offence but I doubt she's read any criticism of her going to church on here or elsewhere, it's more likely to be a personal thing. Imo the use of the word "colonise" is an insensitive misuse of the word. Colonies still very much exist and given that she's trying to portray this look of being self and politically aware it's not a good look to use colonialism to refer to your own personal and individual feelings.

The IG video came after nearly a week of waiting to address, was short, to-the-point, and (lighting was sketchy) as RormanNockwell pointed out she was wearing a shirt that said "it's a beautiful sunday to leave me alone double agent" (a shirt she's worn before, just with a diff cutting). With her wearing that and now-obviously planning to go to church, the vid seems like less of something she did because she knew it was right and more to get people off her back so she could attend church without that being her first appearance to the public. Also, again pointed out by Rorman, one of her dancers (ashley) is now private on IG and the other one went private and then public again. Speculation as to what that could imply.
