I was going to wait until tomorrow (ive waited like 5hrs already!) but I caved and gave Y&B a listen right now.

Love the build-up to this part:

"I’ve seen the world, lit it up,
As my stage, now.   <--- (immediately pictured the setting in the Ride mv, right after the monologue, where she's
Channeling angels in,                     on stage in her red dress)
    The new age, now.

Hot summer days, rock and roll,
The way you’d play for me at your show.
And all the ways I got to know,
Your pretty face and electric soul."

I realize this song is for The Great Gatsby, as it does fit with the tragic love interest and grand lifestyle surrouding Gatsby & Daisy, but looking at this song by itself , it doesn't excite me lyrically. the production though >>>>>
Plenty of us have noticed how she recycles certain ideas or lyrics in the majority of her songs. What part of all this repetition is because of meaningful intention and what part is just lazy songwriting??
her word choice is the same in everythinggg, im >> b o r e d
Paradise Edition & Young and Beautiful are tired out ideas from Born to Die. I feel like she's just churning out sloppy songs while the hype is still alive.
....I'm hoping her upcoming "spiritual" album is a breath of fresh air and she ventures onto other topics or at least expresses her ideas in a NEW way. 1 of the main reasons that I was drawn to Lana  in the 1st place was bc she was so different, now she's literally beating to death the same themes in all of her recent songs. -__-

i got the email RIGHT when she posted the video and thought it was another random person sending me a vid of their personal Lana cover. once i realized that it wasnt, i was literally crippled with shock! ive been looking forward to something like this since we learned about how Barrie wrote Lana a lullaby

i adore their relationship + the beautful music they make <3

omg. i love super 8 -- the colors / lack of sharpness turn a standard beach visit something otherworldly, almost like some sort of real-life cartoon. she (they?) captured some really beautiful scenery too

i wonder why she keeps releasing so many random covers. not that i'm complaining obviously, i just wonder if she's still trying to prove herself to the general public. i'm glad though -- now they can see another side to her voice, and absorb more of her creative elements. i would hope that, at this point no one could really still consider her to be 'manufactured' or 'inauthentic'. i can't think of any other "pop" star that would have the animus or the ability to release something as personal and care-free as this. her talent(s) just seem to be effortless... i'm hoping that with all these releases, more people start realizing it too

you start trying to draw similarities between your life and Lana's and think "OMG WE ARE EXACTLY THE SAME even if its just because you both know someone named Bob You don't even have to say the name of the artist you are talking about with your friends, they just know its Lana You think gross older guys are really hot and want to call them daddy (ok..maybe not the daddy part) you're lying in bed and thinking "OMG I BET LANA IS SLEEPING NOW TOO," you see a bottle of coke or cola and immediately think of Cola whenever you see Mountain Dew, you think of DMD and hum it you wish you had someone to share all the cute Lizzy photos with you start thinking your hair is inadequate being a go-go dancer sounds really cool you used to think long fake nails were tacky but now they're super cool you suddenly listen to really old songs and watch old movies while Lana plays you look out the car window and imagine its a music video ferrari jackets are the coolest thing ever you suddenly reconsider baseball hats you realize your clothing is fugly and know you're so basic compared to Lana smoking is a lot cooler and doesn't matter if it killed your grandma blue jeans white shirt you think you hear someone humming Lana songs and whip around your head to see if they really are you really really want a nose job and lip injections

You started calling men "daddy" as a joke in reference to Lana but it's now taking over your whole life and every time you see a good looking guy who may only be 3/4 years older than you, you say in your head and even sometimes out loud without thinking "can u be my daddy?"
  13. MafiosiPrincessa liked a post in a topic by Deleted User in Regina Spektor
So, my sister and I bought the most expensive tickets to see her the closest we could from the stage last Saturday...
We arrived, and listened to Only Son, and waited. Waited like we've been waiting since we found out about her, and the unique thing that she does as a piece of art. Her songs, her song-crafting is heart-throbbing... We've been waiting since "Begin to Hope".

The concert began with "Ain't no Cover". And I cried.
As a fellow Björk fan, the raw-nature of the voice of an artist means it all to me...
And this, with Regina, was the perfect way to kill me. She sounds even better than in studio.
I fell in love fro 5 times, throughout the concert. I cried almost every song (this is the first concert in which I cry). She has helped me through quite a pile of emotional sacks, and I seriously look up to her...
When the concert was done, I yelled 3 times "PLEASE, PLAY SAMSON". She looked at me,a t the third time, while the musicians were leaving...
    She smiled.
And she sat down on the piano chair...
    Samson was played.
It's today the day that I remember this and I start to cry...

So yeah, I wanted to share this with you guys.

Is it us or do a lot of Lana Del Rey songs remind you of drinking? Sure, she ruined Pepsi with the idea that it takes like her vagina but other songs serve as great inspirations for cocktails that might just be perfect now that the weather is warming up. Even her new song (as heard in The Great Gatsby trailer) prompted a cocktail idea or two. If you ever wanted to throw a LDR-themed party, now’s the time to do it!

one of the many reasons I luv to be a girl is bc of BOOBS! They are honestly so visually pleasing ;-) & great to have whether they're big OR small.

I'm straight but I can def. admire the beauty that is the woman's body. As Lana once said, "I just like how beautiful naked women are. I love seeing girls’ skin in pictures. I have all the old Playboy magazines from the 60s and 70s. I love the look of girls with red lips and shiny skin. I am a big fan of the female form."
(That is by far one of my favorite quotes from her <3  )

As for Lana, I firmly believe that her small breasts suit her small frame. She works with what she has and occasionally wears big bras for appearance when she's touring (She actually mentioned this in an Australian(?) interview, cba to find which right now). I've spoken to fans that met her in Los Angeles in 2012 and she openly jokes about "not having any boobs." I feel like breast size is one of the few things Lana is comfortable enough with to not do any sort of plastic surgery to alter them-- just the occasion big bra for a fuller look or to accomodate a certain dress she's wearing for shows.
