  1. I just can't wrap my head around the fact everything sounds way more commercial than most of NTMT. The Woods sounds probably the closest thing from her early electropop days. Descending is a "grungier" take over the 80s trend. I Pray For Rain just had to be polished to be a cute soundtrack ballad single like they were trying.
  2. It's not only sophomoro slump but her nature as well of being """self-concious and perfectionist""". I feel pretty surprised she never mentioned any sort of change during the last 8 years, because we know how NTMT went through different encarnations before setting for the "grungier" sound. Every title basically showed up a different type of vibe. I'm also sure she's aware of the "hype" of being on "most antecipated albums" like... every year.
  3. So. hm. The message that i am SENDING is about me! And you? you are descending. Capitol + Her are a Match Made in Hell. It's all fucked up. At this point with the leaks she'll just end up scrapping everything (in a "ok I give up lol bye forever").
  4. You know the pastor thing could even be like... a percussion sample? a la NATIONAL ANTHEM \ WITHOUT YOU \ LOLITA \ DARK PARADISE \ BLUE JEANS or Ariana's The Light Is Coming but properly credited (tbh I'm unsure how they managed to avoid any lawsuit since they're using pieces by other people and they're not credited but whatever). Is it confirmed to be an interlude? Edit: Yeah I just saw the last page happening while I was writing this
  5. idk idk I still just want masoshism out because it will be like... wow... oh wow... And then she'll announce #SK3029.
  6. I never ever listened to this "You & Me" song and the way it sounds like 389489489489 songs mashed into one. The strings reminds me of Body Electric (and Serene Queen), the melody almost mirror-ing "baby I'm a four-alarm fire" from Dangerous Girl...
  7. The glossy-almost-blurry filter and that aspect ratio sis... Anthony was mad as hell.
  8. I just read 109 pages. First book of the year done. It was fascinating, especially the whole Paradise - Tropico - Ultraviolence saga that started it all. To imagine she was already penning stuff that still make sense 12 years later... she knew her future was bright. Always thought Tropico felt a little "off", even as a visual only. She already had National Anthem & Ride under her belt, Tropico feels quite amateur, but I can imagine they were rushing through the motions trying to work it out. The Fine China \ Yes To Heaven \ Your Girl scalding tea was life changing for sure. I mean, we did know the files were messed with when they first leaked, but I guess it's still more official than just people hoarding stem packs and trying to make their own version lol. I was trying to articulate this on the YTH thread the other day that since it was common sense that V.1 and V.2 were considered stem edits, they might have been a product from the same original Rick demo and could be just different interpretations\elements mixed.
  9. The Dolby Atmos thing was an attempt to kill her on the spot, I'm just sure they ORDERED "yes. Yes mess with the album. Yes!!!!" and hit upload on Apple Music. It is literally trash, many songs are unlistenable, especially the singles.
  10. No one has the range. The Woods is a bop, thought it was the title track
  11. I miss Album trailers\samplers GOD they were so iconic. That Summertime Sadness endless b-roll footage of smoke and then the snippets being stitched together for fake leaks The West Coast B-roll footage serving more drama than the music video itself the GORGEOUS footage from the original Ultraviolence video + Honeymoon BTS and listening to Freak for the first time. and of course the most iconic of them all aka L-st For Life which didn't have any song playing but was crypt af. Ugh. Iconic. Just iconic. She's a VISUALIST when she's in the mood for it.
  12. We need the visual for the thread! They're daddies.
  13. I... I really hope she'll make a huge deal of LDRX. She'll bring short movies back, come with red hair and bring the best of Dreampop with a dash of hip-hop and Psychodelic guitars. I feel like we aren't getting any music video this time around.
  14. We were robbed of a livestream. We needed this one saviour out there blasting Don't Forget and setting fire on the street.
  15. I don't think I ever heard the unedited Your Girl but you know... it's about the rush of listening to these songs. It doesn't matter if they are great or not, they were ICONIC. Remember Roses???? Raise your hand if you actively listen to Roses on your daily basis. But it was the Crazy For You for a whole generation. And let there be light.
  16. You did help to quench the thirst back then.
  17. That's poetry Poetry and its pure form. Too ahead of time. The way she was talking about Lands Of 1000 Fires back in 2014? She's too powerful. But most of the UV outtakes are "just fine". I believe Fine China stands out, but I wouldn't trade anything on the album for any of the songs that couldn't make the cut. But it would have been nice on a different setting like BB.
  18. You spoiled kids have to UNDERSTAND what is was back then when we had NOTHING but thousand of Born To Die outtakes and pitch songs that were being served to people like CHERYL, not even LIZZY material was so present and we were HAUNTED by knowing that "Say Yes to Heaven" "Fine China" "I Talk To Jesus" and GODDAMN "YOUR GIRL" that was so thirsted that it was a banned word with that long ass "according to the laws of satan there's no way a Bee should be able to fuck around" replacement were real songs from her MASTERPIECE ULTRAVIOLENCE. We had NOTHING. Do not DISRESPECT "Yes To Heaven" like this! Actually tonight you should get on your knees and thank GOD we were able to get through and maybe PRAY that someday we'll have SAY YES TO HEAVEN (MAXI SINGLE) featuring every encarnation of this song + Official acapella so you can make your own version of it and you'll STREAM IT as a sign of gratitude. But yes, actually "Fine China" is the crown jewel from these sessions. Your Girl flopped so hard lmao. Fine China served delicate melody, cutting-glass lyrics, storytelling, fragile vocals all wrapped with that gentle production. She had enough to grab everybody by their necks with "I wore diamonds for the birth of your baby, for the birth of your son \ on the same day my husband to be, packed his things to run". These are Oscar-worthy lyrics, there's a whole movie within these 4 lines.

Preacher's Daughter is... my AOTY. How fucking great it is. And she's just charming\funny\iconic. It's easy to stan.
  20. Neil is so fucking daddy like...fucking iconic and lowkey underrated. His work is unique. His work with Lana is legendary even if she prefers to take selfies with her iphone 6.

I think the Vinyl isn't really a priority. If the album is actually "done", it is probably in line already to get pressed. But really don't think they'll be making it a priority to make it "ready on release" since smaller artists keep getting pushed. But that could be a possibility too since we know Good Sis loves a messy long rollout.

Seeing the Sky thread locked for the 5th time reminds me when the mess used to happen in this thread instead. And endless l*aks. Great Times. Happy she's fine and there's music coming. Would be surprised if there's no single in the upcoming 3 months.
