Norman Fucking Rockwell vs You Can Be The Boss

Salvatore vs Norman F Rockwell

There's some reason why I can't sit still Every waking moment I feel so unfulfilled I try to lie down but I don't know how Baby when I'm sleeping it feels less like I am dreaming, oh my god I got a bad disease - from Bad Disease by Lana of course. I'm deeply unfulfilled right now and constantly anxious, panicking, on edge. I'm also struggling with addiction, my "bad disease", so that's hurting me rn.

Smiles from a stranger, seem to change your day when You were just about to go and throw your towel in Lately I've been thinking about making changes It's been on my mind for some time and I'm anxious vs There's something about seeing him die That puts it all into perspective and I Wanna stay home, be left alone Someone make my mind up so I don't have to decide

Norman Fucking Rockwell - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
daphnedinkley replied to Elle's topic in Post-Release Threads
i know lana is more than capable of an incredible performance, but is it wrong to say i kiiiiinda hope she doesn't perform?? she gets so incredibly nervous, i'm so worried she'd mess up and it'd put her off performing once again. orrrr maybe if she'd do it and mess up, she'd serve paradise-era levels of effort in her vocals and looks and performances again to make up for it, kinda like post-SNL -
Bel Air vs The Next Best American Record
-
took a while but finally got time to finish my rankings!! tropico got 10s except for bel air which got an 8. i love it, but it has less going on and is a little less visually interesting than BE + G&M. ride obviously a total 10. i realised i actually really really love the video for summertime sadness and for love! i didn't pay much attention to either one before, but i love the stories and the trippy visuals of love. the blue velvet video is so bizarre hahah. of all the homemade videos, i think DMD is the worst one and kinda outta luck is the best one. and video games obviously, but that doesn't really count.

Get Free vs Prom Song Gone Wrong

this is all so interesting and def opens up a lot of conversation!! thank you for this @PARADIXO!! def a few surprises in the ranking, and a few robberies. my thoughts: Sooo happy to see West Coast as #1!!! One of my fav Lana songs EVER and without a doubt some of her objectively best work!! I'm definitely surprised but thrilled to have it there. Video Games is my fav Lana song and in fact my fav song of all time, but I figured it was gonna be robbed of a high placement bc of overexposure for the hardcore fans. V v v glad it's top 5!! As an Art Deco stan I am THRILLED by its placement!!! #28 is amazing considering what a random deep cut it is. I was expecting like, low 80s or something. Also YESSSSS at Salvatore being in the top 20!!! Another one of my favs that I always considered to be really underrated. Glad Born To Die placed in the top 10 as well. I know we're all sick of hearing Lana perform it live and it's such an obvious mainstream track and blah blah but honestly, what a banger and what a way to capture that entire era. Poor LFL... this thread really brings into perspective just how much forgettable filler it had. That being said, it has brought into light some interesting ideas about objectivity vs subjectivity for me. For example, When The World Was At War is one of my fav Lana tracks because I just love how breezy and lackadaisical the chorus is, it gives me really soft summertime vibes, but I always figured most other fans wouldn't share my perspective and would more or less ignore it and it seems I was right. It's probably very forgettable for most, and objectively not a very exciting or enduring song. Still love it tho DAYGLO REFLECTION DESERVED SOOOO MUCH BETTER, a solid 10/10 song for me Sad to see Smarty so underrated, it's one of my fav AKA tracks. It's cheerful but twisted, sarcastic and sassy, a little taboo and always seducing. Black Beauty really shocked me. I know it's a fan fave, but #2?? Really?? Can't argue with opinion I guess but as much as I like the song it doesn't seem deserving of that spot to me. I know we like to clown her live performances of OTTR lmao but yeaaa it's a fkin banger. Everything that was fun about the BTD era (or I guess just the pre-NFR Lana) in one track: chaos, love, tragedy, drama, wit, high energy.

THIIIIIIIIISSSSSS what would you guys want to see more and less of on this album? personally, more: psychedelic guitars and psychedelic atmosphere overall, venice bitch and ultraviolence/west coast style less: piano-based songs. i really enjoy them, but i think we've had plenty on NFR and i'd like to see it switched up!
