  1. we have a massive spam problem as it is. It's been absolutely impossible for members like me who can't afford to be on here 24/7 to keep up with any pre-release thread/discussion, leak threads, etc., because 99% of it is filled with meaningless (entertaining, sometimes, but mostly meaningless) "discussion." your suggestion would worsen this. liking a post offers a quick and easy "I like this content" (which encourages posters to post higher quality things) and lets people show agreement without clogging the thread.

    Grimes

in a recent interview or something she said she was just finishing the last few songs on it, so i don't think it was ever finished anyways, i don't think the lyrics are all that cringey? "everything you hate / is everything i love" is a very interesting couplet imo. the production kinda sucks and only picks up towards the end, so that's a little worrying.
  5. i've just been getting into Fiona lately. it's been a slow burn, because there's just so much to appreciate, and, well, I want to appreciate it properly. she's a genius. anyways. https://www.interviewmagazine.com/music/fiona-apple-1 i just wanted to share this interview of hers because i randomly came across it and she happens to mention lana and it feels serendipitous so maybe someone else would like to read it uh yeah this post is so chaotic and im literally sober so i cant blame it on drugs or alcohol smh

i think it's quite clear- not by her recent video, but by her choices the last 5 years of her career- that the last thing Lana wants is more promo. she would like to disappear and be as underground an artist as possible. edit: oop someone litrally x just said this above me, my b

    Britney Spears

Had she not challenged her conservatorship, I can see them wanting to avoid making something like that public knowledge to prevent a scandal/cancellation/whatever that would threaten the money she makes for them. But that's not the case- they're losing their control over her and her millions. They're animals backed into a corner- I'm reasonably confident they would disclose any information that painted her as mentally ill no matter how scandalous or dangerous to her brand.

    Britney Spears

Sorry, walk me through your logic here. Britney- and the entire GP at this point- is flaming her conservators, accusing them of grievous acts of abuse, gaslighting, manipulation, etc. Don't you think if her medical records actually showed deeper mental illness- thus casting doubt on her accusations- her conservators would have been the very first to publicize said records, not only to help clear their name but keep them in control of Britney and her fortune? Their adamency on keeping them private speaks volumes about the situation as a whole. I highly doubt they care enough about Britney to keep supposed "severe mental illness" a secret at the cost of their own reputations or income. Thirteen years is a hell of a long time to recover from a psychotic break, especially given she has been on medication for years now.

    Billie Eilish

her new music videos (the ones that are self-directed) are boring as hell. xanny was literally her sitting on a bench with dead eyes, everything i wanted was her sitting in a car with dead eyes. these new videos have more "energy," but they're still quite dull. yes, prodigies (lana, fiona, lorde) exist and their young genius helps propel them to fame, but suggesting that you can't practice a skill and slowly improve on it is just ludicrous. it isn't a "you have it or you don't." you either have a natural affinity for it, or you work hard and practice and get better. I have hope that she will get better. ... anyways. I have a lot of mixed feelings about ms Eilish right now. when I first heard When the Party's Over, I was instantly struck by the beautiful, melancholic atmosphere, the alluring dread, the gorgeous melodies. I quickly caught up on her disco and although nothing came quite close to that song, her EP was very very fresh and musically interesting, and several of her album songs were great too. this new era, these new songs... it's dull. i mean, they're okay, but she's no longer capitalizing on her gorgeous breathy tone and piercing high notes (whisper-singing or not), nor is she exploring a more powerful chesty sound. it's mumblesing revenge songs about previous friendships and relationships and it just isn't doing it for me. she also threw out her previous dark themes and dark vibes for more neutral tones, which is fine, it's growth, but it's so far proven to be a regression. i think the problem is that Billie is taking more of a lead on the writing/direction of her projects. it's no secret that Finneas was the brains behind Billie Eilish for many years- most of her melodically brilliant songs are written solely by Finneas. Billie herself has said many times that she hates songwriting and leaves much of it to Finneas. but she's said in recent months that she's finally come into her own with songwriting and... well, it shows anyways... maybe the album is hiding a few beautiful gems. i do think the hype is wearing out (especially because the GP know and love the girl with the neon roots and dark songs, not this blonde sorority girl), but she has an incredibly strong fanbase so she'll still do well. she's taking more of a Lanaesque route with her career- chasing her muse and the art rather than making music tailored to be chart hits (the only difference is miss lana is doing it way better ), so it'll be interesting to see her sound grow in the next few years.

lana stans typically dont like lorde bc of stale 2014 beef, but theres a lot of us who love and appreciate ms Lorde too i cant wait for L3. i just hope jack didnt produce it lmao

    Billie Eilish

hmm. this is one of the songs she wrote solely on her own- it seems to be inspired by her and her groomer's relationship, so it's definitely very personal to her... having said that, i definitely feel Finneas' absence- the lyrics aren't very strong. her voice is beautiful as always, but there's very little variation in the melody and little to no vocal dynamics, so it drags on a bit. idk. hoping for stronger songs on the album

  18. silently crying on your own on a lonely hill in fresh snow after a heavy storm, driving at dusk in the middle of winter on a slushy road going 15 below the speed limit the road lit only by lamplights in a tiny town, a summer that is far too hot, leaving the entire town restless and you with nothing to do but troll lame department stores and antique shops by day and get drunk and find trouble by night such underrated work by miss jailer

i love this game!! it's only fun with a group of 10, tho- randos ruin it. we need to organize a lanaboards among-us night with 10 of us. it'd be so fun and eliminate the randos problem
  21. i was going to say- based on all the evidence we have, Lana's love for spaghetti is her most stable and longlasting relationship a linguini Queen
  22. I'm a web developer- given that there is a new like system, so long as the old one was designed at least half-decently intelligently (using unique IDs that transferred to the new system), if you have a backup of the old database, I could try helping you transfer over the old likes.

    Azealia Banks

Uh, Azealia's persistent attitude problem and bodyshaming aside, the girl is talented- wildly so. The only reason she hasn't made it farther than she has is because of her attitude problem. Let's not pretend like she doesn't have talent that rivals Lana. Her twitter/insta rants and tirades don't erase her accomplishments and skills. Don't be dumb. Also, don't mention "systemic racism" when you suggested a few posts ago that a POC was being racist towards a privileged white woman. Thanks.
