  1. Rob's just ended. Can someone please give me a link?
  2. Rob's livestream is so brilliant as a viewpoint that most of us will never get.
  3. I'm watching the video of it right now and I can't even imagine. That half turn she does at the 'Except for the Stage' line ...
  4. I agree with this. Even though she's in the more alternative branch of pop, people judging alternative awards are very iffy on her, for various crappy reasons (see Brooklyn Baby for details). Pop industry folk seem the most able to enjoy her artier side.
  5. Fire Walk with Me is essential and great. It was released as a stand alone movie in the cinema, and was pretty widely disliked, because it's impossible to understand without having seen the series, but if you like the series, you'll like the movie. The Return is, in my opinion, even better, but not everyone likes it because of its quite different approach. Go in without expectations, and particularly don't expect answers or closure. Also, Mulholland Drive is sort of a companion movie to the Twin Peaks saga, so you should watch that either before or after 'The Return' (it doesn't matter which).
  6. I get that everybody's joking, but she didn't post 'This was expensive' to mean 'I need to recoup a few hundred dollars from Youtube so go and watch it'; she meant 'we put a lot of money and effort into this. Go and watch it'. Also, I've never seen a better example of entitlement and 'it's all about MEEEEEEEEEEE' than that comment. I hope they're only 13 years old and grow out of it by 15.
  7. Tell someone to fuck off and die, without using the words 'fuck off and die'
  8. Not me sitting watching videos at 6.30 am, crying my eyes out to Hope and For Free.
  9. This is a pretty good sounding version of a lot of the show
  10. Since the first show of the tour, I've had this delusional idea that the show is not a concert in the normal sense, but is a self-curated juke box musical covering Lana's whole career (which is why there are pre-BTD images behind her, and she uses different wigs, etc). This version of Hope only adds to the delusion.
  11. Amazing work! Thanks for posting this.
  12. She said she was making a big announcement ...
  13. I was so confused by this until I saw the signature You can really see the difference between true fans and resellers.
  14. It's fun to come to a thread on Lanaboards that's already mentioned Neubauten and Suicide! The Triffids - Raining Pleasure - not super obscure in Australia or the UK, but maybe not so well known these days in the broader musical world. I feel like the sound influenced a lot of late 80s/early 90s indie pop as well
  15. A legend and a musical wonder. The world will be poorer for losing her. Fans of the Honeymoon album should check out her work with Serge Gainsbourg on 'Histoire de Melody Nelson' - the quietest and most beautiful orchestral pop album of the 70s.
  16. I can't believe I'm sitting listening to this live.

    Britney Spears

I'm very interested to read/listen to the book.
  18. I know there's not a lot of love for the dancers, but (going by the video), I'm finding the choreography for Chemtrails to be beautiful and inspiring.
  19. Social media is certainly fulfilling the capitalist dream of getting everyone hooked on it, switching it to a paid model, and turning it to shit.
  20. Or definitely ask their name and write it on the record
  21. Now that Fantano is a stan, this woman is trying for the #1 Lana Hater job.
  22. I think you've really nailed it here. A better analogy would be between Chanel shoes that are available in stores, or full prototypes that still went through the Chanel design/production process, but for marketing reasons were left off the shelf. Someone might genuinely like the latter more than the more widely available ones because they're cooler or more comfortable or whatever, and not only because they're interested in novelty. Also, Pink Champagne and LMLYLAW are completely different songs, as are Earthquakes and A&W. They're more like a fan preferring Honeymoon to Born To Die, which just proves there is different taste in the world.
