Her announcement post suggested that she finalized *a* tracklist (whatever that may be might never come to fruition). Highly doubt it was sent to vinyl production then or now. We know Ben and Ed are sales hungry so I expect multiple covers and variants again, which I doubt are even realized yet. My best guess is she posted that to promo the stadium tour but I’m thinking this album sees the light of day maybe late summer or spring 2026.

The new album was so ridiculous trying to self-mythologize / paint herself as a martyr and repaint her career reeked of narcissism and an out of control ego. I get why tnd gave it a 1/10 not because the production is terrible or the lyricism it’s the picture it’s trying so desperately to paint. I just can’t believe it honestly. An tegregious marketing campaign of positioning herself next to actual musicual legends. Something she will never be.

Psychedelic production isn’t happening. She’s shown no interest in rock since Ultraviolence. I’m fine with this album being stripped back but if so the lyrics need to hit. I’m talking Diamonds and Rust, early Dylan, not “tell him that his cowgirl is gone go on and giddy up” not that that’s particularly bad but a whole album of just aimless love songs with nothing to say will be a slog to listen through. kind of like chemtrails, she was so insecure about it leading up and while i like the album it doesn’t really get at anything thematically like what are the chemtrails? You know?

I like some of Ethel’s music but thought Preacher’s Daughter was a bit undercooked and more aesthetics over lyrics. I kind of hate the idea of concept albums it gives Melanie Martinez dollhouse. HOWEVER,,, american teenager is a great song. I hope she delivers. I’ll give 10s where 10s are due. if it’s good i say it’s good, but if it’s bad i’m going to say it’s bad..
