Ocean Blvd had multiple billboards and tons of playlistings. Literally over 70 million playlist reach. Dua not with him anymore pushed him to do this. The management also paid a bunch of celebs to make Instagram stories promoting the song during release week. I’m fuming because Venice Bitch, Doin Time, etc deserve. They did nothing for those songs.

She never sent anything to radio aside from SS remix. Doin Time was an organic hit that alt radio picked up. She charted regardless because of sales and streams. Now she literally can not chart anymore. Ocean Blvd failed to even top her own Spotify page. That’s how bad things have gotten. It couldn’t even make the top 5 of her own page. That’s beyond embarrassing. Not charting on official charts is one thing but not even on your own Spotify page?

Ocean Blvd bombed horribly. It shouldn’t be doing just 300K daily considering her monthly listeners. It’s performing similarly to LMLYLAW and BB and those were massive career lows. Don’t expect the album to do any better. The growth in her stream is very disproportionate because it’s people checking out her back catalogue with zero streams going to new releases and that is just sad. “Yes To Heaven” is currently her best performing single post NFR.

Before certain Lana stans getting brave saying Lana will block Miley just because she’s higher on the daily streams chart, please take a good look at SZA. SZA wasn’t even in the top 15 before her album release. Lana was out streaming her 5X daily. Now look at the chart again. Lana’s stream is stalling despite releasing new music. SZA balloons 10x streams daily. See when you make appealing music that people want to listen to, the streams will just explode. Word of mouth is so instant nowadays because of social media (twitter, TikTok, etc) and of course, music streaming has made music itself way more accessible. Miley will end her easily if her album is appealing to the gp.

People expecting trap hop, urban sounding song from Tommy Genesis collab are going to disappointed (myself and others). BOZ kinda hinted it’s nothing of that sort nothing like Tommy’s music. I’m expecting another Mike Dean situation 💀. But something like God Sent would devour considering the theme of this album but Lana would rather make another soft piano ballad .

The album is going to be very piano heavy AGAIN at least judging by the song credits. 3 pianists (SYML isn’t technically but she picked a prominent piano track to sample, Jon Batiste, RIOPY) The Grants is going to be piano song. It better serve something like this (I highly doubt it , but I will pray anyway)

“Pussy” was changed to “Cola”. I’m glad it was changed. The shock when you first play that song. The flavor. I expect the same for A&W. I actually quite like the stylization. And not everyone dwells on forums and knows everything about the album. She has millions of listeners. This site covers 0.1%.

Naur, I see no growth. It’s same shite again. This new song literally sounds like If You Lie Down With Me and Let Me Love You Like A Woman. She’s been running out of ideas that’s the problem. BOZ hasn’t been listening to past 2 albums in full I fear considering how much he hates them. Idk how he likes this song over whatever on BB considering they are almost identical. I wish she tried something different. I’m ready to let go. I’ve been READY. She’s not.

I raised streaming numbers to make a point to show Lana current relationship with the general public. Not to validate my own taste wtf. I don’t need anybody’s validation. I know what I like. I’m literally pointing out that she’s divorcing herself further and further into a small niche over having general appeal making this type music consistently. You can’t sit here and tell me she doesn’t want her music to be heard by a lot of people? Like why is she doing a million covers and still with a big label, like be serious? She’s in the music BUSINESS. She wants big NUMBERS. You can be delulu and think otherwise but her actions say differently. Just like some of her fans pretending she doesn’t care about critics, but she probably read every reviews and responded interestingly many times. or “she doesn’t care about the Grammys”….”she’s above the Grammys” when Lana herself tried her best to get one with NFR. Canoodling with those Grammys institute students and doing the Grammy museum tours right when the voting for nominations opened. Y’all think she did this for free and for the arts? Be serious.

The way I was optimistic that she was going to take advantage of her recent streaming power but nope. The new song could potentially kill all her momentum the same way LMLYLAW and the Blue Banisters album did . You know I was hyped for WaterColor Eyes as well and that was TERRIBLE . It was praised here too which is so fucking weird and bizarre 💀. Now people completely forgot about that song and never talked about it again. It really feels like an echo chamber in regards to Lana. I know music is subjective but like her music to me has been on a very striking downward spiral. This new song did nothing to reverse that. NOTHING. It really pisses me off because there’s already a song I don’t like on the album. The same happened with Chemtrails. I didn’t like LMLYLAW at all, and I couldn’t get into most of the album because of that. The three buzz BB singles. I also didn’t like. BB ended being her worst album for me. Her albums used to have ZERO SKIPS (Well, LFL has a few skips but most of the album is still good). Now I’m genuinely struggling to call myself a fan anymore because I only like her music from BTD - NFR. Maybe it’s me and not her. I can play her old albums in full. Her new stuff I just can’t. There’s maybe only one or two songs I like from her recent albums and that is so sad.

It’s her fault for choosing another dud as a lead. 3 dud leads in a row. Does not inspire confidence. And pitchfork is right. No BNT for her. Venice Bitch got Best New Track (as it should ). People don’t understand how great NFR was. Lana was making production heavy sounds until that album. It was a big shift sonically, hence why it was so lauded. She’s not making anymore shifts after that which is just sad.

Age has nothing to do with this. Be serious. I don’t know. Her new material doesn’t sound like music to me lmao. It’s very uninspired musically. I am not talking about the lyrics/words. There’s more to music than just lyrics which Lana seems to have completely forgotten. I know it’s harsh but I’m going to spill . There’s an unmelodic flatness to A LOT of her new stuff. Disjointed even. Snow On The Beach by far her most pleasant sounding song recently and it’s not even her song. And I don’t even like that song. Okay, maybe it’s on purpose she’s making auto pilot flat talky melodies but at least make the production interesting. But the production is basic too. I want Lana to recite her poems with this vocal effects on top of a song like this.
