i think you're giving her way too much credit. i think at times she subconsciously instills themes like that into her songs, but i think mostly she loves romanticizing American culture, but also showing the dark side of it. i mean, the girl expressed how america suddenly "turned bad", even though america was always shit, but as a white woman who was born rich, of course she thinks this and those photos where she's kissing a girl...that girl is her sister

I like the album, and i think it plays up dua's strengths, but I'm just mad that it didn't have a strong ending like the strong beginning it had with the title track. good in bed and bwbb don't suit the album AT ALL, and it threw off the whole vibe of the album. why you gonna end a fun and sexy record like this with a song like bwbb? it would probably make sense more if it was a nu-disco song like the rest on this album, actually i love that idea a lot more, but no....alongside good in bed, bwbb sounds like it was added on completely last minute. should've probably ended the album with it aint me.

I’m a thousand years late but I just need to say this for awhile, I was hesitant about listening to bjork. I heavily respected her from afar, but I felt scared to listen to her music bcus of the possibility of not liking it. yeah stupid I know, but that me, your local dumb bitch. anyways, I decided to continue listening to her first album past human behavior, and then I came across Venus as a boy and I........obviously since you are all bjork fans you probably already have expressed your love for this track, but I just needed to add my two cents bcus of course it’s so beautiful. Listening to it, I could here all the artists should would soon go on to influence, and I respected her even more.

While I heavily enjoyed all the songs, I feel like smth should’ve happened, but I’m not sure what that smth is. I don’t think Boys Will Be Boys should’ve been put on the album. It ruined the whole vibe of it. Not saying I don’t like the song, it just didn’t fit with the album...at all but I’ll listen to it again. I first thought after hours was meh but on second listen it sounded god-like so who knows

Favorites are Hardest to Love, Escape From LA, Alone Again (specifically the beginning of the song where it sounds like twinkling lights), Too Late, Scared To Live, and After Hours. But let’s go back to the song Save Your Tears. This man was moaning and groaning about how Bella just passed him by in the club, and knowing that he hurt her, he still was like “you should’ve came up to me and asked why I screwed you over”......what??? Why Abel??? She doesn’t need to do anything. Mr. Tesfaye, you need to sit down and eat your food.
