  1. I’m sorry but...why would you love it? It’s honestly....not cute at all and very cringey. maybe you’re a guy or smth and you see her believing she’s superior to other girls as “iconic” or whatever, but it’s probably the most pathetic thing When?
  2. Listening to the rich whores now makes me want lana to do full rock for WFH.

I’m so glad she did a live video for that it’s my favorite song on the album

    Grimes

She hosted an AMA on popheads subreddit today. I’m new to Grimes kinda, and I’ve only ever read the interviews and stories where she comes off as pretentious, but when answering these questions, she came off as a sooo down to earth, albeit quirky, person. It was interesting to see her explain her thoughts surrounding AI and the mythology behind her album while seeming like a cool and casual person. Her response to the criticism about her being able to write about climate change in fantasy setting being privileged was also so respectful and cool...like....I’m in shock.
  5. Lana is one of the few artists I know that keep getting plastic surgery yet still look cute as hell... but seriously I don’t know she keeps doing it. I feel like she’s never satisfied and that makes me ??? bcus she’s gorgeous inside and out
  6. Why am I scared for this era? Also, I don’t consider myself a stan of gaga, but I was looking forward to this song and mv. But may I ask since I’m genuinely curious: what attracted you to gaga? what do you think made gaga different?
  7. Oh my god YES!!!!! A very different and interesting girl that had her own unique interests and ideas outside of her relationships. that album made me appreciate her more as an artist than ever before. a few months ago, I started listening to her unreleased songs in order, and in that, I got to understand how she wrote better. I feel like her lizzy grant persona was genuine cuz it was mixed with her imagination and her real life experiences, so she had time to make her persona complex. there was a comment I had in this thread where I said how I believed that the producers on BTD created the hip hop infused cinematic sound rather than it being Lana herself (whether this is true or not I don’t know I’m just going off my own assumptions) due to how her unreleased songs sounded and the music the producers worked on before (I remember one worked for a NUMBER of hip hop artists). I think she was presented with this idea and she then leaned into it. but, however, she was leaning into a persona that wasn’t really that familiar to her, so I think the only things she understood about her persona was the relationships “lana” had, and of course, the tragic movie star image she had.
  8. May I ask why you think honeymoon is cohesive

I loved the 70ms aesthetics in that and I’m so glad she went the eyelash look that was prevalent during that time YESSSSS.
  10. her unreleased debut is waayyyyy much better than btd. i remember seeing criticisms about how in btd, she doesn't have much going besides her love for bad boys; you didn't really know what she herself was about. but in the unreleased debut, not only are the songs just better and talk about corny topics without the songs ending up being corny themselves (she made a song about liking gas stations endearing I-), but i got a good sense of who she was and what she is all about. also, her image then didn't feel like it came out of a man's fantasy (i feel like ima get dragged oh lordt i like her whole aesthetic during the btd era but this is how i feel as a woman myself pls don't come for me); she was just a regular being whilst also being a very interesting one.
  11. DAMN! I’m not even Lana yet I feel some kinda way about this call out lol. But really....the shade was necessary. Love her, but I’ve always hated that she doesn’t give a shit about live performances....but since that’s where singers get most of their money, I guess she still continues to them anyways
  12. It has such a unique sound
  13. this track.....amazing. combining both the trilogy sound and starboy sound.
  14. I really do think the producers on the BTD record created the hip hop infused cinematic instead of the narrative that it was lana herself. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a creative force, but after listening to her unreleased material before BTD was even a thing, and seeing what the producers have worked on before, that’s the impression I get. I do think she created the sound that can be found on Honeymoon though. I may be wrong though who knows. I wouldn’t be surprised if I was wrong
  15. i think thats why there are fans who don't like nfr tbh. all her other albums included lyrics with imagery that suited her aesthetic and that kept up with her persona. not to mention, the gorgeous music videos. this era in terms of visuals and her overall aesthetic are so incredibly bland, and her music videos.....i could do with or without them I'm so indifferent towards them now
  16. What did Azealia say? man...I was just going about my business and then I read these comments and I feel some kind of way cuz it’s true
  17. Sadly....you’re not. Her last album is....just weak. I can get not liking The Family Jewels though, since it’s very different sounding and not everyone’s gonna like it, but I really liked it personally

    Grimes

To all the people questioning why others worry about Elon: he has done a lot more damage than good as a person. He has a history of doing problematic and questionable things. I can guess that some of y’all don’t know elon besides the fact he is mega rich, bcus that’s not the MAIN problem people have with him you can say it doesn’t affect her music, but to say it doesn’t affect her.... it literally just shows she is a huge pretentious hypocrite. she has married someone who has done things that she has claimed to be against.

    Melanie Martinez

the k-12 era was good bcus of its hype and its excitement surrounding it but everything about it was a catastrophe; her album and movie are just so.....terrible. and this new song....damn she lost her creativity after ONE album?!?
  22. I think the production is great, but it’s still my least favorite album, even though I still like it. The cliched lyrics, Lana sounding heavily bored on Born To Die, and her singing in general sounding annoying with the different types of voices she tries to pull off. Nobody is saying she can’t channel personalities, but no ones saying it can’t be criticized
  23. That’s gonna have to happen if she keeps doing this. I don’t know how I could move on though
