  1. I don’t think Chuck will be on “maternity leave” when it comes to photographing her sister. If her photos of “25 weeks” was not a latergram, Chuck is due around Lana’s birthday
  2. Kinda expecting that we don’t know for sure until months later when he’s no longer popping up in her posts. Like will People mag have an article about this like the engagement?
  3. Spotify incorrectly clipping Yosemite, NAWWAL, Dance Til We Die & For Free drives me crazier than it should
  4. I wonder what kind of themes she’ll take on in her lyrics here. Corruption of fame on others? after in COCC, she’s starting to regret being famous I want more stuff like Dark But Just A Game, mostly because Lana positions herself as an peripheral observer of Hollywood despite being at least a B-list member
  5. HAIM I loved their debut album and respect them as instrumentalists. But their promo is so gimmicky and WIMP3 is overrated because the music lost its edge imo
  6. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/nikki-lane-lana-del-rey-country-album-1148617/ Here’s the link to the Rolling Stone interview with Nikki Lane about Lana. Regarding RCS, given the process of BUS, I don’t think Nikki really knows. She just is judging by the amount of material they wrote together and knows that’s about an album’s worth and that Lana wants to release it (but let’s be real Lana says that a lot). That’s my interpretation at least.
  7. Nikki is just manifesting like the rest of us, but in the opposite direction
  8. I’m not expecting RCS to be a country album in any way sorry Nikki
  9. I think Lana and Chuck are pressing flowers and using watercolors as the “painting” aspect (see Chuck’s latest story)
  10. Channeling Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell even more by dabbling into painting

Melodrama has that signature maximalist Jack Antonoff production when he was beginning to get that “producer of the year” aura. So sonically, it captures that year in pop music well. This album is kind of intense all together, but I only like it in an album form. The songs especially melodically by themselves don’t stand out as much for me. Opposite of “sum greater than its parts” if that makes sense.
  12. I wonder if Lana’s interpretation of For Free differs from Joni’s in any way and if featuring other voices was purely a stylistic choice. Lana singing the second verse (“velvet curtain calls”, “black limousine”) is the opposite of who she was in “White Dress”
  13. If Lana actually follows up with her initial RCS announcement, there could be a lot of lyrics involving thunder “Thunder” the song, “I was a lightning rod”, MAC lyrics turned up a notch teas
  14. I had this weird thought that- if you took elements of COCC (country-ness, hints of an autobiographical Lana in the AKA/trailer park era), you could've gotten an earlier Kacey Musgraves album. Like NAWWAL could've been reworked for Kacey. Fortunately, COCC turned out to be a very Lana album and it's something nobody is gonna touch in the near future.
  15. Theory: the “sound” Lana was trying to reach but felt like she didn’t in the album was a “wilderness” vibe. The first half of the album has glossier production whereas BUS, Yosemite, For Free, NAWWAL have an open-air, country setting to it. It would fit the storyline of COCC/music video and her obsession with “Running with the Wolves.” LMLYLAW should be on the back half of album but also in the album, it’s needed to give a little more variety.
  16. Millennials must be like Lana’s worst segment and Gen Z a really promising one. I’ve seen people online seethe about COCC’s UK accomplishments and all my friends are ambivalent towards her I just hope for the next cycle, she can turn on the PR faucet a little bit more so things can go a little smoother.
  17. The top end of the prediction was 75k so over performing by a bit is not bad Concerned for the streaming numbers if it’s some indication that the US market still hates her
  18. I find that especially since LFL, a lot of what she talks about for one era, it will appear in the next one. - The Greatest talks about missing New York and rock music. In an interview, she talks about what she misses is the time when she would listen to Milk by Kings of Leon -> White Dress - Insta of her listening to For Free with a Yosemite tee in 2017 ish -> For Free during NFR tour and appearing on COCC. etc So it will be like an early Kings of Leon album (“southern rock”) mixed with Arctic Monkeys/Last Shadow Puppets stylings, me thinks
  19. I think Lana was in Sherman Oaks here, at a restaurant I did some sleuthing
  20. For Free is beautiful. The live version of Lana solo covering this was amazing but the album is its own version. Took some time to get used to it.
  21. I think it might be her uncle?

    Lorde

noooooo This has so many implications for the minor stan wars between these two fan bases
  23. This album is great on shuffle and for while I’m making dinner too
  24. Part of me fears that RCS won’t get the promo it deserves. Now that the pandemic is at the tail end, a lot of big name artists are slated to release (Lorde, Adele, Billie?) Not that Lana cares as much about promo as others, but it would be hard to get her “revenge” across. So it’s either coming soon before other artists race to get their stuff out or it will be pushed back.
