  1. Nikki and Lana met during her UV era as they both had Dan Auerbach produce their albums around the same time! UV 2.0 y’-all I listened to Nikki’s music tonight. It’s much more uptempo than Lana’s and quite fun. I can think of so many ways this collab will turn out but I’m still hesitant because their vocals are so different and Lana has a tendency to slow down her songs
  2. A female country duo is such Michelle Branch teas
  3. This one is easy to write away because it’s Texas and their governor is mega eager to reopen things. Plus Nikki Lane is the one on tour and who is gonna come after a real indie country artist
  4. This album is gonna be so reliant on producers to make or break it. VG and Ride are country songs at heart, sure, but the instrumentation is what makes it so alt-pop
  5. Oh it might be something she’s saying to herself. I thought she was trying to tell Clay not to be such a tryhard or something
  6. This poem doesn’t make sense to me if it’s supposed to address her breakup
  7. I don’t see any Lana pics on his feed rn??
  8. Am I to take the camping part literally? Because I don’t think the timeline would line up if Lana went too
  9. I want her to bring Lou Reed back to the forefront of her muses. Remember when she would always mention “Perfect Day” as a song she wants to cover
  10. I hope the candle is not unscented
  11. For such a short Lana album and the fact that Lana was drawing from Ladies of the Canyon so hard for 2 albums, I think it would’ve been nice to see Lana write her own “For Free” song as the closer.
  12. Hounds of Love, Wuthering Heights, Suspended in Gaffa, Army Dreamers, Running Up The Hill, Babooshka, The Man With The Child In His Eyes, The Wedding List, Wow I picked them from the This Is Kate Bush Spotify playlist. They are most accessible imo

  14. Only tangentially related to Dance Til We Die but Joan Baez’s granddaughter’s TikTok showed up on my feed and she tells the back story of how Joan Baez sang with Lana at the Berkeley show. Turns out Joan didn’t really know Lana and they only like met the day before. I thought they knew each other before NFR came out
  15. New song Pretty decent Lyrics remind me of something Lana would do
  16. Bring back VG and Carmen MV styles. I still to this day am wrapped up in their collaged mystique But it’s not gonna happen. Chuck & Charlie need employment / opportunities to build their portfolios
  17. Definitive lists always turn out poorly. Critics should consider putting songs into tiers
  18. It‘s like when she’s mad, she talks about the upcoming projects she has. It’s giving the “it’s a promise, not a threat” energy
  19. On the Annie Mac interview in January, Lana admitted she was running into a writer’s block though. Edit: nvm I got what you meant
  20. I’m starting to want Lana to take her time. There will be so much for her to comment this year, if she’s gonna take on the music industry in any way. Lots of indie girls will be releasing (even though she doesn’t talk about that as much), some with even their takes on NFR. It also will give people time to appreciate COCC. The way it’s been abandoned so quickly
  21. I like it! In some ways, it’s better than Driver’s License for me mostly because it picks up sooner in the song. DL second verse is so skippable for me
  22. I still can’t thinking about which singer/celebrity prompted her to write this, so I did a little digging https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/lists/oscars-party-diary-inside-a-list-parties-events-1276442 (second section for the Guy Oseary party guest list). Not a lot of musicians in that list (The Weeknd, Adele, Miguel, HAIM, will.i.am, Elton John, Sean Combs) and while it does have Lana, it doesn’t list Jack Antonoff who according to Mojo was also at that party. We’ll never know for sure but it’s fun to whittle down the possibilities a bit. pls this can’t be another song about Kanye
  23. What kind of conversations is her label having about RCS? since they maximized streaming-unfriendly COCC’s sales with those vinyl variants
  24. y’all are so brutal lol I think Clay is the type of man Lana will go for from here on out. You know- a good, simple personal hype man who does gigs in LA
