    I’m just gonna say it

He doesn’t wanna talk to you cuz you’re a dumb bitch.

he could’ve picked many songs but Radio is just the first one that came to his mind.

By the way NFR is my favorite album and BTD is #3

The fact that you people are resorting to insults shows me, that I’m in the right here.

The fact that you cannot discuss Lana’s music and treat people who have a different opinion than you with respect and have to use insults is pretty immature and embarrassing ngl.

What @Sportscruiser posted made perfect sense to everyone on this forum whose reading comprehension skills developed as they matured.

In what way is Radio a complex song in the vein of Fingertips? I know yall are just bitter as hell cause I don’t succumb to the cult of Folkna but please… what he said made no sense. 😂😂 He pulled that comparison out of I don’t wanna know where. Those two songs have nothing in common and when I asked him to elaborate, he refused. I think that pretty much proved my point.

Why are you always doing like the old times are gone?

      Reveal hidden contents

A&w, sweet, snippets of taco truck, peppers and fishtails give me all old lana vibes

I think that’s what they hope is the case. I feel like many of the post-NFR babes hate everything prior (in particular BTD) cause they associate it with “locals” and also because her setlists rarely ever feature anything other than songs from BTD, P, UV & LFL. 😅

sooo :delicious: should we rank all the album openers? :hooker:

1st ranking: Song quality (How I would rank the songs regardless of them being openers and more based on personal preference)

    1. Love
    2. Cruel World
    3. Ride
    4. Born to Die
    5. Norman Fucking Rockwell
    6. Text Book
    7. White Dress
    8. Honeymoon
    9. The Grants

2nd ranking: Opening (Does the song set the mood for the rest of the album? Was it the best option from the album overall?)

    1. Ride
    2. Honeymoon
    3. Cruel World
    4. Born to Die
    5. Norman Fucking Rockwell
    6. White Dress
    7. Text Book
    8. Love
    9. The Grants

I think the only one here that really shouldn’t have been the opening track is Love, especially when 13 Beaches was RIGHT THERE.

I’m not interested in talking to you about this subject (or any other) so you might as well try your luck elsewhere.

    How unfortunate.

    And there was no correlation.

I think her melodic compositions remain just as catchy. I caught myself humming Fingertips in the last few days and that’s a song that has no hooks whatsoever… the thing is that her arrangements are getting more complex and less accessible in a way that track like Radio is. And it’s ok that people don’t jive with it but I think her strength as a melody arranger remains as stronger than ever.

How did you manage to draw a connection between a gorgeous song like Radio and a song like Fingertinps? 💀 There is literally nothing about these two that can be compared.

Thay said, I think the problem with the lack of melodies is, that she's writing these songs from a less rhythmic pov but starts with poetry and lyrics. Looking at how she used to write her songs starting with a hook or some melodic concept and recording it in her laptop…there is clearly something different.

I don’t think she has lost that ability, I personally think the collaborators are the problem. There is not a strong composer on her current team who can turn her concepts into full fleshed out songs.

But....This is a thread dedicated to her new music.

Maybe this thread is too triggering for some, maybe other discussions not focused on "Tunnel" would be less problematic for some.

So am I just supposed to expect everything from this album to be bad? No. I have very loudly expressed my love for A&W when it dropped. It’s not like I go into this album thinking that everything was gonna be trash. I still take my time to listen to it and comment.

I cant believe how hard it apparently is to not fight :bebe: We all need a mental reset methinks. Or new meds idk

I know you probably didn’t mean it that way but making a mental health joke when there might be users on here who are reliant on anti-depressants, ritalin or other psychotropic drugs is in pretty bad taste.

you didn’t have to make the text bold :thumb3: I get it that some people are fans of her old music but what is the sense of sitting here and being active when her style and music change so much and someone is not even a fan of her now ?

Because her old music doesn’t just disappear. It’s fun to talk about her old music, her videos, her lyrics. Talk about physical or digital audio collection. It’s fun making cover art or fantasizing about set lists. Talk about new leaks of unreleased songs, s.o.

What exactly makes you think you have to like her new music as well to be a fan of hers? Why does that immediately disqualify someone's fan status or should mean that they should become inactive?

It's also not like she has a few gems of songs on the albums she released that I dislike. So far, there has always been at least one song on every album I enjoyed.

You don’t need to speak up for anyone lol. People aren’t afraid to say they hate something ON THE INTERNET :eartha:

They sure as hell might be considering how yall mass bully anyone who dares to voice a negative opinion about Lana’s latest snoozefests.

The Grants it’s literally so heartbreaking….

If you don’t like it I don’t know what wrong with you :toofunny:

Literally this is the kind of bullcrap that will keep me posting my controversial opinions.

There is nothing WRONG with not liking her current music or songs of a certain type. We just have different preferences/tastes and probably started stanning Lana when she was making different music with more catchy melodies.
