it all started with this surprise nonsense... literally not a single moment was spent being happy about a new single release and potential interview and it's just been negativity & hostile vibes in here since that :tommy:

Don’t act like you didn’t add to it by writing stuff about the things BOZ allegedly shared with you and others in private. :mj:

That said, these threads will always be dramatic and fast-paced. Also, Lana's current output is pretty divisive and her fanbase is less accepting of different opinions than ever before. All of this really doesn’t come as a surprise.

why do you guys keep coming for each other's taste, let others think kintsugi or fingertips is a masterpiece or that it is bad, no one is "right" when it comes to liking or disliking a song and most importantly no one actually cares about it

Seriously this has always been such an annoying thing… no one has the “correct” taste

This is something this fan base will never ever be able to grasp.

No one cares that you prefer her old stuff. People care when you constantly complain about the new stuff ❤️

And why the fuck do you/they care? Just scroll past it. I'm lending a voice to the people who are too scared to speak about their opinion because they would get bullied over it. Learn to accept that opinions and tastes are subjective and that everyone has a right to talk about their opinions (negative/positive).

yes and bozo got mad saying he never received a cease and desist and lana's team loves him or something and that i should go back to lanaboards where the stupid members believe my lies (literally talked shit about yall in a big essay)

so i'm sure he is absolutely fine and thriving :clapback:

Stop talking shit about someone who isn’t around to defend themselves. As far as we know, you were the one who ended up having Lana scrap what could have been her best album and gave us unfinished/rough/on demand versions of demos while pretending to be someone in her team.

I don’t know, neither do I care about what he has allegedly done. What I DO know is that he truly gave us valuable info on a lot of things. Something you and multiple others have failed to do so. I am very bummed out about him deactivating/leaving.

How do some people still not understand that Lana doesn't care about "potential listeners" who use words like "snoozefest" or "flop" to describe masterpieces like Fingertips :scoff:

These two do not belong in the same sentence.

Anyway, her fan base is pretty divided since NFR and there are obviously a lot of people who really really aren’t fans of her current direction and just as much as Lana has the right to do as she pleases, we have every right to be upset/disappointed about it.

It doesn’t mean yall can’t enjoy it. It’s just REALLY annoying when the folksters constantly attack and bully lipsters for preferring her old stuff. If you can’t enjoy her stuff without hating on the people that don’t like it, then you’re being the problem.

it doesn't matter what anyone thinks is or isn't a good single choice. the aongs lana releases as singles aren't the ones she thinks will top the charts or bring in flocks of new fans. she releases the songs she wants to be known for by the general public. the people who don't listen to her albums will only know the songs she releases as singles so she seems most focused on the songs that will show off her writing skills and values and even the energy she wanta to put out into the world. like i love taylor swift but i find it disappointing that she usually releases the songs that will become major earworms as singles bc yeah she tops the charts and everyone gets her songs stuck in their heads but so many people don't know how great of a songwriter she is bc she doesn't release those types of songs as singles. but then lana releases stuff like hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have but i have it as singles despite songs like that clearly not being designed to top charts or bring in new fans. so the grants will be a good single choice in the way that it will be the type of song that lana wants to be known for and that's why she's releasing it as a single

No 1 curr about singles but

    Spoiler

I was just hoping to hear something more upbeat and not another poem-turned-song.

These snoozefests can easily be saved for when the album is out. Why scare off potential listeners like that? Especially after A&W was so well received?

everyone writing essays comparing and you flat out saying NO! :lmao:

    ocean blvd > the nepos

but that's okay, everything on this album is a 4.5 and above out of 5 except the boring cuntsugi

    Not The Nepos! :lmao:

    Spoiler

So far, most of what I heard from this album was 2/5. It might end up being my least favourite. I really didn’t think she would be capable of making an album I would enjoy even less than BB but here we are. Hopefully this is a closing chapter to the Jack Antonoff collab series.

Pitchfork rescored Born To Die from 5.5 to a dazzling 7.8!

AS THEY SHOULD! They haven been so fucking obnoxious towards certain artists and extremely pretentious. I'm glad they are trying to redeem themselves a bit and recognize that they have been wrong in the past.

They may as well rescore UV and rightfully crown it as her magnum opus while they are at it.

i mean this could’ve been its own grandma themed album instead of clumping together and dragging down the last three consecutive records…

    No, but seriously…you spilled!

I think all of the songs are coalescing into something much bigger, and like @taco truck just mentioned, it seems like there are four sections to the album split up by vinyl sides, which to me is much more cohesive than whatever LFL was trying to accomplish imo.

Except, Lust for Life was great. It just needs an adjusted tracklist:

    1. 13 Beaches
    2. Cherry
    3. White Mustang
    4. Summer Bummer
    5. In My Feelings
    6. Groupie Love
    7. Lust for Life
    8. Coachella
    9. God Bless America
    10. War
    11. Beautiful People
    12. Tomorrow Never Came
    13. Heroin
    14. Change
    15. Love
    16. Get Free

    …and suddenly it’s extremely cohesive.
