Azealia comments on "Art Deco" diss track rumors
essiductonto replied to brooklynbaby91's topic in Latest News
Keep waiting for all the bloggers to notice she says "ghetto" in art deco and start writing really angry things about it. I cringed when I heard it, what was she thinking. -
she is there in studio right? she took a red eye flight for this?
-
lana must be so sick of these basic questions, and album has only been out for 2 days

essiductonto replied to annedauphine's topic in Post-Release Threads
God knows I tried gives me this lump in my throat and i think i could just start crying, not sure out of happiness or what -
I just had this thought about the video for honeymoon - you know that car that drives by in the background while she is sitting on top of the hill? is that the starline tours van?
-
such a beautiful song, and her voice is amazing here. kind of heart breaking. anyone else think it might be about barrie?
-
ps, the scat singing she does at the end, i think it's "wait for life" it's reminding people of, no?
-
bravo, lana. loved it. loved the production too, i liked the scratchy string thing going on in the background.

Bristow, VA @ Jiffy Lube Live - June 11th, 2015
essiductonto replied to Spac3gypsy's topic in 2015 Endless Summer Tour
Yeah I was there and way at the back and the audio was weird, her voice kept going in and out. She kept stopping to adjust the audio so it seems she could tell something wasn't right. She also seemed to have less energy or be not as happy as she looked at other shows. Seeing her was amazing, when she came out in the beginning in her red dress it was so exhilarating. -

yeah i agree, i thought her paradise version of yayo was great, a pawn shop blues do-over would be amazing. tbh i think one day she should re-record born to die, million dollar man, blue jeans, and born to die are so vocally flat on the album compared to how she sings them live -
Lana Del Rey Talks "Big Eyes" for the Weinstein Company
essiductonto replied to Sitar's topic in Latest News
Does it sound like she was given the couplet "with your big eyes and your big lies" and told to write a song around it? I'm trying to figure out if that's what she means. -
born to die at hollywood forever. really poignant.

I agree and I have no idea why she even agreed to pose for this magazine when in general she has resisted being objectified like a piece of meat. I'm similarly baffled by the gq cover but at least the interview actually revealed things about her. Maybe because she got to be photographed by Neil Krug. -

I think the context matters. Maxim is literally using her body to sell magazines. It's not Charlie Rose. It seems really wrong that publication that peddles female bodies would turn around and make sniping remarks about the person inside the body. In any case she's literally at her home with the interviewer when she says she lives in east l.a. He thinks she's trying to put one over on him? -

Kind of shitty and insulting article. I thought the part where she says she lives in east los angeles and speaks spanish in all her songs, and the interviewer has an aside where he says neither of those are true -- was actually very indicative of the dynamic between LDR and the media. It seems she says things that are kind of hyperbolic not meaning them to be taken literally (she lives in koreatown, she speaks spanish in some of her songs) but then the media nitpicks what she says and accuses her of lying. I don't think lying is really what she is doing but I also don't think she cares much about telling the truth. Anyways I just thought that part was weird/kind of interesting. -
Lana to perform at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles Oct 17 and 18
essiductonto replied to dirkdabo's topic in Shows
She looked pretty nervous to be singing shades of cool live for the first time. As far as "lemme fuck you hard in the pouring rain" I think what happened is when she performed the song live before releasing an official version it was always "fuck you hard" then when the single came out it was "kiss you hard" http://pitchfork.com/news/44562-watch-lana-del-rey-perform-her-next-single-born-2-die/ -
Lana Del Rey to be covered in American Horror Story
essiductonto replied to Dopeanddiamonds's topic in Latest News
the baz luhrmann thing makes me think it will be young and beautiful which, eh. i think they are only likely to pick one of her well known songs though, so honestly if not young and beautiful then summertime sadness. that's my suspicion although sad girl or any of her songs that aren't so famous would be amazing. -
I think the orange scene has to do with the garden of eden, in the no doubt video for don't speak there is also a garden of eden scene with an orange.
