Create an Inspiration List for Ldr 9
Venice Peach replied to blackestday x tough's topic in Lana Thoughts
Oh this is fun - Carmen - Body Electric - Sad Girl - Freak - Heroin - TNBAR - Chemtrails Over The Country Club - Thunder - Fine China - Your Girl - Hollywood Not necessarily my favorite track from each album and unreleased but I tried to pick something that was cohesive as inspiration for a theoretical next record (strings, kinda sultry at times but also really sad and dark) If I was really in control of her next album I'd pick all the upbeat and summery songs like OTTR, Florida Kilos, FIILY, Hawaiian Tropic etc just cause I know it's not happening anytime soon -
Summertime Sadness (Sped Up Remix) to be released - September 26th, 2022

It's probably by her label demand since there's a tiktok filter with a red dress with the speed up version of the song that went viral but I guess they still have to ask her for permission since I think she owns her masters? I'm not really sure about how that works tho -
I take his comments as just orientative and very relative info. Like maybe the album is coming soon but only considering we got 2 albums last year. Or the album being finished as "she's taking these last 2022 months to polish it" It's kinda annoying but at the same time I love the thrill of the rush even if it's just for the day we get the comment

In my mind her records form 2 trilogies (so far) We have BTD - UV - HM that are classic "old" Lana. Then LFL came out and for me it's the transition record. A bit all over the place but had some songs reminiscent of her earlier work and THE song that kinda changed her writing style into something more raw and literal which is funnily enough Change. Finally we have NFR - Chemtrails - BB being the stripped singer-songwriter albums It's not really that easy to sort her albums into groups like that cause she always has some outliers (and for example Sirens and AKA would be closer to the last releases than BTD at least sonically) but I feel like that's the general vibe of each group. I think LDR9 is going to be an evolution of her current style, not really that different from BB but maybe building on the "experimental" elements like unusual structures and melodies (and since she's automatic singing and doing the one take thing it's kinda likely)

Add drums please

Wait... who said that???? Or are you talking about Ben?

I'm ready to buy the Grant Family Bundle of 8 vinyl variants, 6 CDs and 4 cassettes (+ a Chuck & Charlie photography book)

I don't think it's coming that late tho... As soon as she finishes it she can send it to production and we'll have it around 4 months after that. She has no reason to delay the record once she's done with it unless there's some kind of label drama involved which I doubt at this point of her career It's still September... even if she takes all that's left of 2022 to finish it we could have it by spring

Lana leaving Churchome in Beverly Hills, CA - September 21st, 2022
Venice Peach replied to Elle's topic in Sightings
It's so sad that Lana had to act all nice and sweet out of fear (I know she's a really good person and she probably didn't want the security to beat him up but you can sense how tense the situation was for her). It's the problem with these stalker and weirdos, you have to be really careful and pretend you actually care about them cause you never know what they could do if they get angry...- 111 replies

It's always when we least expect it tho If the album is almost done I'm sure she has at least the first song she wants to put out chosen already... the thing is when will she release it
-
Maybe October is the month... let's hope for an early magazine issue with some info or announcement
-
I didn't like the chorus at all cause it was too repetitive and sounded kinda bad to me... but one day it suddenly clicked for some reasons and I've really loved that songs ever since. I've always liked the verses and bridge tho

What will happen to the OG Blue Banisters video?
Venice Peach replied to Crazy Husband Thief's topic in Lana Thoughts
Didn't some insider say it was an album trailer or something like that? I think it was boz. The hair is the same as the LMLYLAW performance and the set also looks similar so I guess she recorded a bunch of stuff there that day She's not lip synching so maybe she recorded random footage to eventually use for something. Sad that it's not coming out cause it looked very pretty -
Oops that was meant for the CFY thread.... so I'm just going to say I'm excited for LDR9 to stay on topic
-
If Crazy For You leaks this week I'm literally going to pretend it's the lead single All I need is one new song and I'd be able to wait some more months

Spring (and summer) she sleeps. Let's hope fall wakes her up from her slumber

I'm curious to see how different this album will be compared to BB. She doesn't seem to experiment or change her sound just for the sake of it and it has probably more to do with her mindset when writing and recording her records. The thing is that her mindset often changes after the album is already done so she ends up switching things around a lot (like the LFL demos and outtakes being way different to the end result after she said she wanted a "less dreamy" record) I think Chemtrails is her only album that was released almost exactly as it was when it was first conceived in concept and it shows cause she was kinda unsure about how it turned out as said by herself in the Mojo Interview (even though I find funny that she was worried about it not being cohesive when it's probably her most cohesive record and in my opinion one of her best ) I'm sure that if it wasn't for the pandemic she would have reworked it into something more similar to BB cause being away from Jack really limited how much she could change about the songs at that time (even though who knows what BB sounded like in the beginning )

After knowing about his album I'm so confused about what pictures were about him and what is about Lana I doubt he booked Jack full time since he seems like a very busy man but maybe he shared some studio time with Lana? Idk. It's still so funny to me that he's actually releasing an album
-
So iconic of her to pose with her father while wearing a "slut" necklace I love her so much
-
The album is called Back With Jack at the Trailer Park It has the mandatory alliteration of her previous titles and the autobiographical tone of her lyrics
-
An inside joke. We (at least I) use manifest as an "I want" synonym but it's funnier that way I can definetly see that happening but at least we'd have confirmation that it's done
-
The album is wordy but so was Off To The Races I like that she didn't say anything about the album's sound per se other than orchestra (which is present in all of her albums so it's not giving away that much anyway). I hope the angry lyrics are accompanied by intense production (even though I also like the "angry ballads" like WFWF and Hope but we can have both )

Manifesting an album trailer with 3 short but very different snippets TODAY

I agree but they have very different approaches to their art and how they release albums. For Taylor everything has to be calculated and announced at the right time for the shock value and hype it generates. Lana on the other hand just makes music for the sake of it and releases/announces it as soon as she's allowed to. I don't think she even has a the concept of an "era" in her mind anymore when starting an album cycle. For example all the snippets in the NFR weren't (in my opinion of course) a way of creating hype or promoting the music to come but more of a general "look at what I recorded and I'm proud of". When she said she wanted to release a surprise album at some point I don't think she meant it as a way of shocking people either but more of a way to freely release anything she wanted without all the promo and stuff related to an album release. I don't think any of their ways are right or wrong tho, just very different approaches to music as a career

Maybe it's the price she has to "pay" for having 2 lowkey albums back to back... like I get she has full creative control but Interscope is a big label so I'm sure they want a bigger era this time (at least in terms of promotion cause a lot of people didn't even know BB was coming at that time Maybe her streaming numbers being huge makes them more confident in whatever she wants to release... or maybe they'll want to maximize profit and see how high Lana can really go with proper promo and something a bit more upbeat or radio friendly I wish I could read Lana's contract to see how much they can influence her output
