Yes please. The UV billboards and the Love posters were one of my favorite things ever as a Lana stan I miss that kind of hype and teasing

I'm almost sure that's the case. I don't think they would try to make Lana record a specific type of song cause she probably just makes her albums as she want and then maybe takes some light advice from the label... but if there's something on the upbeat side in the coming album they will definitely try to push that as a single. I don't think Lana can be "tricked" into that tho cause all her latest singles have been ballads and even if the respective albums were on the slow side anyway I'm sure Interscope wanted TFJ as a single for example (and it was at some point considering it was the title track...). The same as IYLDWM being featured in some spotify playlists when BB was released Chemtrails wasn't that slow but it was the title track so it was bound to be a single anyway At this point it's probably a tug of war between Lana writing and releasing whatever she wants and the label trying to get the maximum profit with what they get

I hope it's existential anger (like Tired Of Singing The Blues) cause I think we've had enough songs angry at the media But if I were her I'd also curse them at any given chance considering how annoying they've always been so I don't blame her I think she kinda found closure with BB with the really personal songs, the outtakes she always wanted to put out and the remarks about the media and criticism sprinkled throughout the album... so I think we're getting something new thematically. Also the fact that she didn't have an album title ready from the get go makes me think it's going to be unrelated to BB and not a continuation of the same topics. Sonically I don't think it's going to be that different but who knows, she's always been really unpredictable anyway

I took a nap I shouldn't have and the Gods instead of punishing me, blessed me with an oneiric vision: When announcing LDR9 Lana said the next record was going to be less serious and inspired by the film noir scene. She also wanted to release a short film to accompany it but she didn't want to show gun violence because of the current climate in the country so she was working on an alternate solution. This was in some kind of recorded interview like a red carpet but she was sitting down ? Anyway I've been watching a whole lot of true crime documentals lately so that's probably what influenced this dream (and my constant thirst for new Lana )

When that came out I really thought the interview was old and that there was no way she didn't have a title already... well it ended up being just a little update about her new stuff and not an indication about something coming At least she talked about the record as a collective thing and not just about the individual songs she had at that time (and she even seemed to have the opening track? Unless she meant the first song she wrote and not the first on the tracklist...) so even if it was far from being finished at least it had some foundations already established. Either way I still think something is coming before the end of the year even if it's just a random song without any promo or MV just so we get a taste cause she likes to do that

I don't have a problem with people only liking certain albums of her cause I understand how BTD (or any particular album) could be more accessible to the average listener or to people who like more upbeat music (it even happens with NFR, some snobs people say it's her only good album)... my issue is with people who are fans only of BTD-UV Lana the person, not the music... like if you only like skinny lowkey depressed Lana maybe you don't really like Lana Like it's kinda sad seeing these accounts post Lana news from 2022 using the same old 2012 photoshopped pictures that are totally unrelated to the topic but of course they can't use 36 year old Lana cause it's not aesthetic. Fuck them really

This is so nice and interesting @zombie girl Thanks for putting it all together. The only thing (which doesn't really change the order) is that I don't think IYLDWM was re recorded since the vocals sound really 2013/14 Lana. I guess they just added the outro and maybe subtle changes like the muted piano chords but we can't know for sure

I knew a guy that actually bought (or at least listened to) AKA when it was released cause he saw the cover and loved it and was a fan ever since It has to be so crazy to discover a random unknown singer through iTunes and a year later she becomes huge. I feel like now in the streaming era we have access to way more music and artists so it wouldn't feel that exciting Also a lot of the newcomers just don't have backstories that interesting

Released or overall? Even though it's kinda iconic at this point I'd say Boom Like That. For officially released songs I don't think there's any bad one but Coachella could have been WAY better with nicer production (even though I really like the 2nd half of the song)

I don't think it's that far just based on her previous releases. We never had to wait more than 2 years for an album and even on the longest periods between records we got an early single months before (the outlier being Love/LFL but since it leaked we got it early anyway). Also I know we have to take Ben's comments with a grain of salt but she's been working on this at least since late 2021 (and probably even before since BB was finished in the summer and she tends to start the next thing while finishing the former) so I do believe the album is almost done
