  1. Yeah, that's what I saw, too. Thanks for setting me straight on that. As you can probably tell, I haven't gone to many concerts, and I've never been in the pit before. No wristbands were required at Hollywood Forever, but they didn't have a real "pit", it was just the area in front of the stage. There were no seats at that venue; just grass. In that case, forget the VIP, I'll just get GA Pit tickets and get there really early!
  2. Interesting, I thought the tickets were being sold through Livenation, not Ticketmaster. From reading what the VIP offers, here's the advantage I see: It says you get early admission before the doors open for "regular" ticket holders. Thus, you could get in early and find a spot at the front of the pit, since there are no seats in that area. And if you can't get a spot, or if you get tired of being up there, you have a guaranteed seat 1-2 rows behind the pit.
  3. Hmm... I'm not seeing any mention of presale info on Livenation. Am I just missing something?
  4. I responded to your PM before I saw this. Glad to hear you got approval! I'm gonna go for the VIP package as well, although I haven't seen how to actually DO that yet. Look forward to waiting all day with you and whoever else is going! Not sure if you're serious or not, but if you are, it's in Central America.
  5. She looks positively gorgeous!! This explains Courtney's tweet, too.
  6. Uh oh, looks like I'm on your hit list. I'm planning to go since she'll be in my home town this time!! Hey, I drove over 100 miles to see her in LA 2 months ago... I'm super excited because I live in Chula Vista! Didn't you go to both Hollywood Forever shows in October? I have every intention of going to the Chula Vista show. I live like 10 miles from Sleep Train Amphitheater I don't really care about Courtney Love, but LDR, hell yeah!
  7. I think I've mentioned this before, but no matter how long she tours and no matter how many albums she puts out, there will always be fans at her concerts who want to hear her "old standbys." With that in mind, I'm sure she'll always sing "Video Games," especially since many consider that song to be her "breakthrough" song. I honestly also think "Born To Die" and "Summertime Sadness" will continue to be staple songs at her concerts, since they're so popular. Any artist who tours doesn't ONLY perform their new stuff; they perform older, well-known songs as well. As for "Young and Beautiful," she seems to have stopped performing that song some time ago. And I've never heard "Once Upon a Dream" live either, much as I'd love to hear it. I suspect perhaps it's due to copyright or other legal reasons having to do with the movie; maybe she isn't allowed to perform it live. When she performed at Hollywood Forever last month, she sang "Ride" on Friday (the night I was there). The next day, she dropped "Ride" and added in "Shades of Cool" in place of it (and also rearranged the order a bit). Being the lead single off of "Paradise," I suspect "Ride" will stick around for a while longer. Perhaps not every show, but I don't think it'll just disappear right away.
  8. Thanks! Weird, I didn't see that on their web site. ...or perhaps I just didn't look in the right place. I see it now. I must be getting old... or blind... or both.
  9. OK, so how is everyone getting the article already? I thought the issue wasn't out until Dec. 2... link??
  10. I can't wait to see the issue. The cover photo is the first one I've seen where you can truly see her beautiful green eye color -- no doubt about it there.
  11. Ahh, gotcha. I thought it was just for stuff done this year.
  12. Much as I would like to see Tropico win, how is it even eligible? It came out in 2013, not this year.
  13. Had Lorde been in there anywhere, I might have had a hard time. But she wasn't, so West Coast got my vote hands down.
  14. Umm... did voting really end 11 months ago? Or did you perhaps mean 2014, not 2013?
  15. Probably not. She's been staying pretty quiet in the media lately. But perhaps she'll agree to do a collaboration with him, and then cancel it.
  16. You took the words right out of my... fingers. She always includes him in what she calls the masters of each genre. I'm sure he's aware of that, and so for him to even think about a lyric like that, let alone publish it, is, to me, a slap in the face (no pun intended) to her. It's just stupid, and highly insulting.
  17. Good question! I once read in an interview that her friends and family use both. I took that to mean her family and friends who knew her before she became Lana. With new friends since being Lana, my guess is they call her Lana. Probably depends on how she introduces herself, though, too. I don't think she legally changed her name, so on her driver's license and passport, it probably still says Elizabeth Grant.
  18. I have 4 songs from Paradise in my playlist: "Ride," "American," "Body Electric," and "Blue Velvet." I have a 10" subwoofer in my car and I love listening to "Blue Velvet," because after the intro, as she starts off with "She wore Blue...", the word "Blue" lands right on a low B-flat from the bass guitar, and I have the bass cranked up and it gives me chills every time.
  19. I would like to be Blake right there....
  20. I've actually also expressed an interest in that very same thing! I'd love to hear what UV sounded like before Dan Auerbach. At least, the songs that they re-recorded. Some of the UV songs, like "Old Money" and "Black Beauty," weren't re-recorded. Also, there are suspicions that the "Radio Mix" version of "West Coast" is actually the original pre-Auerbach version, but there's no confirmation of that.
  21. So, a couple of small question for y'all... or maybe a solicitation of opinions... 1) That little fluttery thing that Lana does with her voice. I really like it! Is that something unique to her, or do other artists do that, too? Here's a sample... at 4:06: (Yes, it's the imfamous SNL video, but it's the first example that came to mind... granted, it got better as time went on): http://vimeo.com/80513813 2) Any thoughts as to the purpose/reasoning behind the distortion effects she sometimes uses? In "Is This Happiness," the piano is normal, but the strings are behind some kind of distortion filter. There may be a guitar in there, too; hard to tell with the distortion. And in "Flipside," the guitar and bass guitar are distorted. I can't help but be curious as to why she seems to like the distortion effect.
