Its sad PORTALS come out so weak and like expired milk when melanie recorded songs for the album that were some of the best songs she has made in her entire career and are huge career highlights but does not release them and decides to release tracks that are weaker and messy. The only good songs on the album are Tunnel Vision, Leeches, Evil,  maybe Nymphology (would include faerie soiree if she didn't ruin it)

well… calm down, I never said I believed the Medieval Dynasty thing but some of the leaks sound a little bit more “medieval” to me (like Dragons Blood with the chains or Barely Juice where she mentions a literal castle), that’s all… also she said Test Me was a teaser for what was to come and that also sounds a little “witchy” 
 
anyways, let’s chill. Also love that u say that’s a title she would never publish like she hasn’t put out cringier and worse things by now (Portals for example… r we 4? Yikes) 
 
Portals is a mess and aging like milk… I’m sorry. It had potential though, let’s see if she nails it once again in 4 years 

God I don’t want to be a twat but this seems like the shared synopsis for all of us except the Die Hards  I think she needs her co-writers back to refine ideas tbh!
But yeah anything is better than k12

She’s stated clearly on multiple occasions that she will never release songs from her previous era’s.. I honestly find that very annoying 

Melanie needs to make her fans make the final tracklist for her cause her choices for the final are abysmal

well. The album has aged badly for me, very easy to lose interest, nothing to dig deeper for more imo 
(still better than K-12 up until this point) 

I wasn’t referring to the title, more to the themes on the songs. Needle & Thread, Dragons Blood, Barely Juice, Garden, Puzzles or Magnets have a medieval feel to them in my opinion (trap beats and chain sounds). I think the change of the overall theme was a consequence of the early leaks. 
 
Garden may be a Oliver diss track but at least is not as on the face and overall bad as BOTL. Evil is cute though (eventhough I don’t understand the missed calls thing if she’s supposedly in a fairy world how does she have a phone…?)

nothing like that, we are talking about quality my dear… for example, I don’t need more After School leaks cause they are trash (except maybe Function and History). Also some of the portals outtakes are good (Garden, Dragons Blood, Barely Juice, Needle & Thread), but she didn’t include them cause she changed the theme from “medieval” to “fairy” in the last minute, and the results are a disaster. I don’t need no more Oliver Tree diss tracks thanks… still have PTSD after BOTL 
 
is not a fetish more so, that the CB outtakes are far superior to anything she has put out later and that’s facts 
 
Although some K-12 leaks have been good so far and I’m curious to hear what they sound like (we all know she loves to leave the best unreleased)

It’s somehow REALLY funny to me how she considered this songs “not good enough” to see the light of day, yet she released Class Fight, Orange Juice, Glued, Brain & Heart, Field Trip, BOTL and Light Shower officially 
 

It’s because this album in it’s entirety barely has any substance. I’ve figured that out already soon enough lol

Mother of Pearl gets so much hate here but it's better than some of the final tracks we got IMO.
 
It's got a great instrumental, very deep and resonant. Sounds like water. The lyrics flow nicely too, and her voice is very unstressed and natural. If nothing else, it's very well produced. Wish it got more love.

I mean it’s not bad but she has better songs in my opinion… it’s like she’s trying so hard to be “edgy” but it doesn’t work for me 

Been so focused on Alone by Kim Petras I forgot ab portals, Tunnel Vision still #1, Evil and Womb grew on me. Death and Void got old. Leak kota

Out of curiosity, how old are you all? Because as an adult I just can’t connect with this. I liked Crybaby when it came out (I was 15) but this just sounds like it was made for children 

Menace to society doesn't sound like portals AT ALL maybe early mm4 sessions? It seems she always records for the next album, as soon as the deluxe for the last is dropped (ndje was made in october 2020 and k-12 songs were being written in 2015 and 2016)

PLZ definitely her recent changes have been pushed by we*d and shro*m use... it's actually sad how she went from writing like Cake, Schizo, Unhappy Meal to BATTLE OF THE LARYNX (still a good song sonically and for PORTALS, but the style has clearly changed)

it could be because she's promoing this character, but I definitely agree. I remember her 2019 birthday post was very fucking normal and was her thanking her fans for birthday wishes and now it's this word salad mess... still love her and wish her happy birthday but damn she went off the deep end...

I think the main reason the pictures where she's wearing the body suit look odd is because it's got this fishy gill texture on the entirety of her body (including her palms, neck, and chest which adds to the weird factor) while the face is mostly smooth. I also feel like the gills are out of place if the creature is meant to be a fairy of some kind, but we don't really know 100% what it is. 

ive noticed the prosthetics look way better when she’s wearing less goofy wigs and isn’t wearing that weird body suit
