Can you name a few female artists that blended orchestral music with hip-hop before Lana? I’m sure there are some. Genuinely interested in checking them out.

It was 100% for Lana. It was in a Blue Banisters thread on another forum. He described it as a “cute” collab so wonder who it could be.

Maybe rushed isn’t the right word but she didn’t seem happy about the end result. She said she felt that Chemtrails was missing another defining song and that it was hard to meet up with Jack during those times. That’s just from what I remember from the Mojo interview.

Covers album or a 10th anniversary BTD version would be nice.

Both albums seemed rushed. Lana even admitted that she didn’t get where she wanted to with Chemtrails. BB literally has songs ripped off of youtube. I still like both albums and wouldn’t put them at the bottom of her discography, but I hope she takes her time with the next album.

Have you tried emailing either about it? I had an issue with my white vinyl from her US store, and they were able to send me another even though is says they are sold out.

That spot will always belong to Lust for Life I think. I listened to this album for the first time in weeks when my vinyl finally arrived a few days ago. It still sounds fresh to me. My top 2 Lana albums are NFR and UV while LFL is last but other than that I find her albums so hard to rank. They are all pretty equal to me

COCC has already showed up pretty high on a few end of year lists, so it seems like it had a lasting impact on some critics at least. COCC isn’t my favorite Lana album but it is very well put together and deserves its acclaim. Having a critically acclaimed album in the past will never guarantee future acclaim as we saw with a few artists this year.

How do people know she even submitted to any categories? Also I need to check out HER’s music because she always gets nominated for AOTY.

Do we have proof that these songs are not in lossless quality on Apple Music and Tidal? If we do, someone could email them and they would have to get the lossless files since they are promising that quality. I honestly don’t notice a difference though.

Have you tried her French store for the white vinyl? I think it ends up being like $65 with shipping to the US.

Him liking a few albums from female artists doesn’t mean anything. His whole reaction to the Fetch the Bolt Cutters situation was really gross. I’m sure he does have some valid criticisms but don’t see why anyone would go that hard defending him.

Looks like projections are up a little. Top 10 isn’t bad at all. Maybe it can still increase if her team pushes Dealer more. Her team sucks for messing up the physicals.

I really don’t think it’s that bad. She doesn’t have vinyl which makes up the majority of her sales, and it’s her second album of the year. She probably would have done closer 50k with vinyl which isn’t bad considering the fact that the GP doesn’t even know she has an album out. Also even Lorde who did a bunch of interviews, magazine covers, and hadn’t released an album in 4 years sold around 50k as well. Don’t think it’s fair to compare her numbers to people who have hit songs and a lot of promo.

I think we should be proud of the fact the Lana is still among the other female artists in this list after her 8th album. Especially since she doesn’t have number one hits, heavy promo or even social media to let people know she has an album out.
