Lana Del Rey and Quavo “Tough” - OUT NOW!
barttttender replied to rocknrollgroupie's topic in New Releases
A smash in the UK. Lana Del Rey Claims First No. 1 On Multiple Charts With Her Star-Studded Single Del Rey earns her first No. 1 hit on both the Official Physical Singles and Official Vinyl Singles charts this week. While she’s already secured multiple top 10 placements on these lists, this latest debut marks the first time she’s claimed the top spot on either of them. Before this week, Del Rey’s highest placement on both charts was just one step away from No. 1. Her 2023 hit "Say Yes to Heaven" stalled at No. 2 on the two tallies late last year. For Quavo, “Tough” marks his debut on both the Official Physical Singles and Official Vinyl Singles charts. His success on these rankings is partially thanks to Del Rey’s immense popularity, as well as her fanbase’s dedication to purchasing her music on physical formats. https://www.forbes.com/sites/hughmcintyre/2024/09/17/lana-del-rey-claims-first-no-1-on-multiple-charts-with-her-star-studded-single/ -
Wild at Heart vs Moulin Rouge!

yasss collab of the decade
-
Ikr? I need a Frank Ocean collab asap. I think Lana and him would work like a charm. That said, that guy seems to have given up on music all together, so it'll likely never happen. But just imagine a Cinnamon Girl type of collab with Frank Ocean's higher vocals, and Lana's lower. It would slap big time.
-
Please no Lana x Charli - nobody needs that sound. Leave that for Billie, worked like a charm on Guess. Lana needs to collab with The Weeknd on his new album, and hopefully Billie, Frank Ocean, and Tame Impala (Kevin Parker).
-
Well, his new collab with Anita is fire next level. https://youtu.be/a5rp9mgL8y4?si=dDXK1r1VAFO9xDsA I reckon this album will be a banger (thought the first single didn't really deliver). Hopefully, we get Lana on one of the tracks.
-
I mean, the difference is not that big. 950K vs 1.5 million. They're both in the top 5. Whatever. They're both major hits for her. The sad part is - she'll never perform either live. But you can bet on a thousand more Arcadia and Bartender performances....

I fucking love this post. Venice Bitch, White Dress and A&W are Jack's biggest contributions to LDR's career. Although I personally prefer Ocean Boulevard to A&W, but I get that A&W garnered a lot more critics' respect as well as fan love, and Jimmy definitely slaps. Hoping for a big song on Lasso along these 3-4.

The fact that you rank "How to disappear" low, tells me everything I need to know about your music taste.

Love how article is now "artical" here. We've literally lost our minds.

To be fair, tough outstreamed most of Lana's discography in 2 months. It doesn't need defending. The latest tracks it outsreamed below. Paris, Texas (feat. Lana Del Rey and Quavo “Tough” - OUT NOW!

So, Tough outstreamed all of these on Spotify. Lolita next, after just 2 months. It's pretty crazy tbh. Some of these tracks have been around for 10 years. Track number 62 for now, out of 231 LDR songs listed. Still doing nearly a million per day, right behind Say Yes to Heaven. * Tough 130,481,764 963,656 Paris, Texas (feat. Written by Lana's ex boyfriend, ideated by Lana, with the producer of Doin' Time, in country style, which just so happens to be her new album style. Sure, Jan.
-
BB will forever be my least favorite era (was it even an era?). But yeah, this one has already firmly settled in spot no 2
-
Аll I need is a few Lust for Life/country style bops ala Tough and Fenway opening + a strong collab (Billie, Abel?), and the Prettiest Girl in Country music. Literally, these 4 and I'm sorted. Come on, Lanita, don't overthink it.

Error from the get-go. The Weeknd is dropping his first single tomorrow. There's no way Lana will release or announce anything. More like: Album Announcement & single pre-save - October 13th Lead Single - October 25th. Second Single Pre-Save - December 15th Second Single - November 25th Album Tracklist and Cover + Third Single - February 14th (Valentine's) No album trailer (since the last time she did that was NFR and she doesn't care) Album Release - April 18th. Stagecoach Festival - April 2025 Tour Dates - July 2025 - August 2026
-
Well, it worked for Beyonce's entire career. And for Elton John just fine. Why the hell would she need to have written it? She didn't write Doin' Time either, and it's one of her most famous and loved songs. No pop girlies write their own songs - Lana is a huge anomaly. So, yeah, after 9 albums of her self-written singles, we have one that someone else wrote. Big whoop.
-
I'm praying Tough was the first single. Love, Mariner's, Let Me Love You, Blue Banisters, Ocean Boulevard.... t's about time we get a BOP as the lead single. This hasn't happen since High by the Beach (10 years) Fun fact: Tough has already out streamed all of those save for Love and Mariner's on Spotify. Tough would also be a great indicator of a more melodic/less diaristic direction. And after 3 heaver records and a book of poems back to back, this would be really cool. Proof: Tough is STILL generating over a millions streams per day (her 5th most streamed song overall). People love it. She missed out having Say Yes to Heaven as a major. hit on a record, Tough should be on Lasso. Whatever would be the second single would still sound great, I'm sure. Just like VB followed Mariner's well. Or MTWBT followed High by the Beach. Who cares about the order if the sogns are good.

any news on this album? I was gone for a week

BOREDOM NEXT LEVEL. Truly, this thread has taken it to previously unimaginable levels.
-
Prettiest Girl in Country Music is a beautiful song and deserves to be on Lasso. Tbh, Prettiest Girl > Henry, Come on.
-
If it's two singles by the year-end, then it's October and December babes. That being said, tomorrow it'll be exactly 2 months since Tough dropped. So, maybe this will drop mid September, and the second single will drop mid-November. That would still fit the bill. If we get any kind of promo/announcement, then bet on Sept. But if there's no promo, aka if we' continue to suffer in this good-for-nothing desert fucking rolling bush zone, then forget about hearing anything till mid/late Oct.

In hindsight, I kinda loved it. It really made me excited for the album. I thought Love song sounded like the most beautiful song she's ever done, and it wasn't even the best song on the record Like, not even top 5. And then when she finally announced the album name in a random interview, I was on a plane to Japan, and I legit SCREAMED from joy. I thought it was the most LDR-esque name in her entire filmography, and absolutely brilliant (I still do). I miss moments like these. Now, she doesn't even seem interested in her own record. All these concerts and public appearances, and the most we've got was an "I don't know." and "Two singles by the end of the year." Enthusiasm: 0. At least with NFR, she was excited about her own god damn record, and we could tell.
