i mean.. it very much does?? as much as i love lana, artists who profit of off their art being consumed and bought by the public are also subject to the public's thoughts on said art..

Waist Deep In Icy Waves (Lizzy's Version) The spotlight never lasts forever, follow me now You call me your starlet so be my director, push me down Levitating in the bar, you call me your painting, your shooting star I feel like I can't touch the ground, like a ferris wheel, spin me round The hunter Orion shines bright in the sky Only constellations compare to those times You blew my mind, made my stars align Leo the lion roars from the night sky Only constellations compare to those times You were sublime, all the stars aligned You're so cruel it changes to cool, follow me now If you wanna see me, i'll be by the pool, push me down Palm trees on streets and your warm summer breeze, that's all I need now You made me realize how sweet life can be, Jim can't compete now The hunter Orion shines bright in the sky Only constellations compare to those times You blew my mind, made my stars align Leo the lion roars from the night sky Only constellations compare to those times You were sublime, all the stars aligned Waist deep in icy waves You're insane but you're my baby Waist deep in icy waves Call me insane, you drove me crazy Waist deep in icy waves You're insane but you're my baby Waist deep in icy waves Call me insane, you drove me crazy, baby

LANALYSIS: Relating Songs To Known/Assumed Relationships
fl0r1dakil0s replied to Sitar's topic in Lana Thoughts
bel air (imo) is almost undoubtedly about axl rose for starters, he lives in bel air and used to drive (he might still drive it but idk) a vintage chevy bel air. and then the song also has references to guns and roses: "sweet child of mine, you're divine" - sweet child of mine is a hit song by guns n' roses, the band axl is in "idol of roses, iconic soul" - imo this is a reference to axl's band and how it's iconic to her and to the music world i think the chorus is just about lana driving through bel air at night (the spotlight, etc, being her headlights - also makes sense because she talks about palm trees late at night and bel air is full of palm trees) - lana def purposefully used wording that brings about a heavenly/afterlife sort of vibe w lines like "walk in the way of my soft resurrection" but i think she was just comparing a fun little fling to heaven - the song could be interpreted diff but i think objectively it makes sense that it's about axl - also i can't find it but i'm almost 100% sure i saw a pic on social media years ago of axl rose's bel air home and he actually had gargoyle statues by his gate to his home which confirmed it to me - i can't find the pic now but i remember it vividly -
thank god lana didn't get cancelled for this by the idiots on tiktok bc it rly could've been a whole thing

lipsters have a lot to say about lana's writing so let's see how we can do.. rules - based on any post in this thread (which could be an image(s) or words or both), try to write "lana del rey style" lyrics - it doesn't have to be the post directly above you, if you use another person's post just quote it - if you don't want to write something you can still post something to give someone inspiration - the lyrics can be whatever you want them to be but try to include some sort of iconic lana reference or metaphor the fun part (obviously you don't need to write a full "song" but if you do) - in a week i'll choose my four favorite "lana songs" from the replies and make a poll where people can vote for the one they want to hear - for the song that wins the poll, i'm going to find someone on fiverr to record the song in "lana del rey's style" to be eligible for the poll - your fake lana song can have whatever structure you want but there should at least be four separate "stanzas" of lyrics - for the instrumental of the song, you can pick one from youtube (if you search "lana del rey type beat" on youtube you can find a lot) but it should somewhat make sense with the lyrics you write (so they match) - if you don't pick an instrumental i will pick one for you example (hypothetical of how this would go) Person A: DNC, Northern California, foggy ocean vibes (yes a certain person's lies inspired my fake scenario it's just what came to mind first) Person B: (fake DNC song here)

i don't have a time stamp but it's when courtney talks about how lana got rid of all her social medias and then immediately said that people can't get sober if they're active on social media - her quote was something like "lana got rid of all that shit she deactivated her social medias. you can't get sober on that shit you have to get rid of it"
-
just listened to the podcast.. courtney alluding to lana's sobriety on a podcast is bizarre to say the least
