Not everyone who listens to Lana constantly thinks about her music, especially not new music. An average listener won't even know she released something new and sticks to BTD, UV and NFR. The majority will forget about Oct 22 because they have other things in life and won't stream it unless stans spam social media about her new album. I assume they'll spam but still not as much as kpop stans do. It's playing with fire and money because it can completely flop. I don't understand why does she release music if she can't even promote it properly. Why not wait for an album go drop and then deactivate instagram, not doing it in a middle of a pre release era? Lana disabling her account just made me think of Angelina Jolie creating an insta account just recently and blowing up with millions of followers although she was only talked about when the divorce was brought up. I either love or hate Halsey. I thought she was one of the coolest artists in her Badlands era because her style was everything I wanted in freshman-sophomore. Then she became pretentious with the shampoo bullshit and "I'm not pop I'm alt" and I started to hate her. I didn't show interest in her music except in singles, her relationship and collab with G-Easy showed how "alt" she was and at that point she seemed very hypocritical, plus all the lies of her being homeless. Then posted very cringy immature stuff during quarantine. This summer I bought used vinyl of Badlands on Ebay for a bargain out of nostalgia and with the latest album she restored my liking to her. She seems like she really matured in literally an year and I respect her pop rock/alt path because it fits her voice and vibe the most. My friend is a kpop stan and even she thinks that Halsey should be a pop/alt artist influenced by rock. I like only 1/3 song from her latest album because I had patience for them only lol. I'm looking forward into getting vinyl because Halsey never seems to disappoint with the aesthetic. Edit: Now I like 10/13 songs of the newest album and it's 5th on my wishlist. So I will be probably buying it in an year because a girl needs to pay student fees.

I personally don't believe in genuine artist-fan relationships. There's this power dynamic, I'm here adoring Lana's art, knowing a lot about her art and her persona. I know nothing about Elizabeth Grant and she sees me as a stranger who adores her. Do you see my point? Same with love relationships.

I can't belive the video popped while I was chilling in a Café and thinking "Ohh she is probably rambling who gives a fuck" not even playing it, then I visit LB the next day and see that Instagram Updates has +200 replies. My face was like thinking it was something positive but instead I witnessed meltdowns. What a ride. Someone on instagram just commented that she was allegedly in a mental institution earlier this year. What the fuck? You guys are probably familiar with that. Was her poor mental health maybe the reason she will leave social media. Also that leaves to her promoting music in an old fashion way which I look forward to. BTD-----Ultraviolence/Honeymoon------NFR I think

Speaking of Guns n Roses, Lana's post NFR eras (not including NFR) reminds me of that awful era of Chinese Democracy - When an artist becomes too confident with their art that instead of attempting to sound more mature, they sound messy, empty and uninteresting. NFR, although not my cup of tea, is different and creative, everything after NFR sounds like outtakes of it or watered down. These stans keep convincing people that there is a huge difference between eras but it's only because we know they're different eras. If the songs were randomly played we wouldn't notice a thing except for a couple of country sounding songs. Arcadia literally sounds like an NFR outtake, sorry not sorry.

Definitely, whenever I hear Ride, although it's one of her best songs, her vocals seem kinda forced and unnatural.

I think that Ultraviolence was supposed to have a 70s bittersweet down to earth vibe. I'm kinda disappointed that the vinyl gatefold and sleeves didn't have a prettier interior design since Neil Krug absolutely nailed the album photoshoots.

The only thing I noticed about her mighty progression in lyricism is more words and more random themes. No catchyness. In terms of the melody and production, the song Guns and Roses sounds like a masterpiece compared to her recent discography, since people love to say how that's one of her worst songs. I prefer the cringy 'kiss me with your blue jeans on the balcony, daddy' because it was at least catchy, cool, edgy and different from the rest of the artists. Yeah, her voice doesn't really sound that good when singing higher and louder. Sounds kinda shaky. She sounds really good in that Summertime cover and WW tho, I couldn't say the same for Arcadia. Like literally. She had a million ways to make a cheap homemade "authentic" video. Why is everything for her so mediocre since Chemtrails? She is really starting to give uncool mom vibes.

Oh my God, you literally said everything I really felt when I tried to convince myself to love the three singles + Arcadia as much as her old music. It's not it sis. I don't have fo add anything else since you're reading my mind. It does feel empty, like that toxic positivity movement. The only song that is comparable to her old music is Doing Time, Cinnamon Girl and Wildflower Wildfire, if WW had a little different production it could've easily belonged to Ultraviolence. I wish someone can take away that damn piano from her since she got waaaaay to comfortable for three albums.
