Lana at Val’s engagement party in Los Angeles, CA - November 25th, 2024
bluechemtrails replied to Elle's topic in Sightings
I sometimes forget that it's much warmer in LA in November than it is here. -
I think the Grammys aren't as important as having your songs live on and stay in the cultural memory (for the next decades) , like many Beatles songs do. Lana has done that at least twice with "Summertime Sadness" and "Video Games," but I think it's about time for another one.

Additional Things You Would've Liked To Add To A Lana Song

I would add more unique lyrics to some songs where the lyrics are just repeated. -
Harper's Bazaar - December/January 2024 Art Issue [Print]

No, she clearly said in the interview that she's single. “I’m definitely not in love right now. No,” she says firmly, smiling. “Absolutely not in love. Have been, but no.” -

I always find it fascinating when she sings about California. I think this distant, sunny state has a greater appeal here in cold Central Europe than on the East Coast of the USA, for example. Even when she sings about the beach or the sea. I only know both from occasional vacations, and they are beautiful places that you like to hear about.

there are always a few exceptions, but at the end of the day, I think it's just a music industry award -

Grammy Awards 2024 - Lana Del Rey Nominated for 5 Awards
bluechemtrails replied to Elle's topic in Awards & Nominations
Lana didn't play a role at this year's Billboard Music Awards, which probably reduces her chances of winning a Grammy in the main categories https://www.billboard.com/music/awards/2023-billboard-music-awards-bbmas-winners-list-1235491435/ -

The 70's were the most relevant musical decade, closely followed by the 80's, then the 60's and the 90's. Only a few songs have been written in the last few years that will still be known or interesting in a few decades.

I wonder when the first single from LDR10 will be released. She don't seem to be planning any time off next year to concentrate on the album. Is it almost finished? Or is it planned for a much later date? We might know more by the end of the year.

Israel's genocide of Palestinians and war on the Middle East
bluechemtrails replied to Ultra Violet's topic in World News
The problem is that people always blame the other side for everything (whether they are right or not). Everyone should first solve the problems on their own doorstep, the Palestinians should ask themselves if they are trivializing the terror of Hamas too much or distancing themselves from it too little, and the Israelis should actually realize that they are constantly increasing the terror and hatred against them with their military actions, violations of international law, and illegal settler activities. -
Israel's genocide of Palestinians and war on the Middle East
bluechemtrails replied to Ultra Violet's topic in World News
The problem is not the original definition, but the context in which it was (mis)used (Calls for the destruction of Israel). Just as the swastika was originally a religious symbol, but in most cases it is no longer understood in this way. -

@Veinsineon the slogan "from the river to the sea" is very disputed: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/From_the_river_to_the_sea On November 11, 2023, the slogan was banned in Bavaria (Germany), and "the prosecutor's office and the Bavarian police warned that henceforth the use of this slogan, regardless of language, will be considered as the use of symbols of terrorist organizations. This may result in punishment of up to three years in prison or a fine." -

There are a lot of immigrant Muslims living in Germany and right now Jews are actually living in fear (again) because all the hate is now directed at them. It's absolutely shocking. https://www.spiegel.de/international/germany/absolutely-appalling-a-new-wave-of-anti-semitism-sweeps-across-germany-a-50e18e6a-03ae-4ea5-99ec-6d0c8753558a https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/oct/24/rise-in-antisemitism-brings-germans-back-to-most-horrific-times I'm in favor of pro-Palestinian protests, but you have to be careful that they don't turn into anti-Semitic violence (even though most of the protesters are actually peaceful). -

the most important thing other magazines took away from this interview is the confirmation that she's single again https://people.com/lana-del-rey-confirms-shes-single-says-ex-had-little-bubble-ego-8405388 https://www.elle.com/culture/celebrities/a43486178/lana-del-rey-fiance-evan-winiker/
