    Nikki Lane

  2. I see Grammy chances rising since Lana is top ten artist on Spotify this year and since the album is in several top tens on end-of-year-lists (also in one of my most read german magazines)
  3. Lana should never change, I hope she always stays the way she is
  4. end-of-year lists are coming DYKTTATUOB was already #6 on Mojo and Uncut overall it is #8 on albumoftheyear.org so far: https://www.albumoftheyear.org/list/summary/2023/ but many lists are still to come...
  5. I sometimes forget that it's much warmer in LA in November than it is here.
  6. I think the Grammys aren't as important as having your songs live on and stay in the cultural memory (for the next decades) , like many Beatles songs do. Lana has done that at least twice with "Summertime Sadness" and "Video Games," but I think it's about time for another one.
  7. having a Billboard 100 hit isn't bad, but isn't necessary either, many good musicians had some, many didn't
  8. I think what is meant here is that some of her songs have become "heavy fare", lacking lightness and humor. But there are enough counter-examples, such as 'Dealer', 'Peppers' or A&W part 2.
  9. I would add more unique lyrics to some songs where the lyrics are just repeated.
  10. No, she clearly said in the interview that she's single. “I’m definitely not in love right now. No,” she says firmly, smiling. “Absolutely not in love. Have been, but no.”
  11. I always find it fascinating when she sings about California. I think this distant, sunny state has a greater appeal here in cold Central Europe than on the East Coast of the USA, for example. Even when she sings about the beach or the sea. I only know both from occasional vacations, and they are beautiful places that you like to hear about.
  12. there are always a few exceptions, but at the end of the day, I think it's just a music industry award
  13. Lana didn't play a role at this year's Billboard Music Awards, which probably reduces her chances of winning a Grammy in the main categories https://www.billboard.com/music/awards/2023-billboard-music-awards-bbmas-winners-list-1235491435/
  14. The 70's were the most relevant musical decade, closely followed by the 80's, then the 60's and the 90's. Only a few songs have been written in the last few years that will still be known or interesting in a few decades.
  15. I wonder when the first single from LDR10 will be released. She don't seem to be planning any time off next year to concentrate on the album. Is it almost finished? Or is it planned for a much later date? We might know more by the end of the year.
