  1. perhaps they also represent everything superficial, which we strive for, but which doesn't really make us happy at the end
  2. 'Rockefeller' could also just be a synonym for a rich man
  3. but this is much better, maybe you need some time to get it
  4. because a polished music video about the broken Hollywood dream makes no sense
  5. whoever uploaded the first video shouldn't have linked to her old twitter, instagram and tumblr also, the sign up link doesn't work
  6. also interesting to watch how her mood deteriorates from scene to scene and her "rockefella/umbrella" looks in more and more skeptically or the many incidental details like the man dropping the film flap the video has multiple layers and it will probably take days or weeks to analyze everything properly
  7. I think they could stand for success or glamour, but there are certainly more possible answers.
  8. The music video somehow reflects her entire career. The rich old man represents the music industry, the diamond necklaces her success, which becomes more and more a burden. In the end she exchanges them for simple sugar necklaces and is happiest with them.
  9. now I need the extended version on Spotify
  10. The wait was more than worth it, her best video ever!
  11. I would say it has cohesive parts, with the longest from Kintsugi to Margaret. But all in all it's not cohesive, the last three songs and especially A&W can't be more different to the rest.
  12. and be honest, most of her album songs are better than DCMA and SOTB , so performance in single charts is irrelevant
  13. I think there are two types of artists. One has a few hits but weak albums, the other tries to produce good albums, means that as many songs as possible sound good there and none stands out exceptionally (to be a chart hit). Lana definitely belongs to the latter, if a song should end up in the Top100, it would probably be more of a coincidence.
  14. Without the interlude, there would be no Jon Batiste on the album at all. I'm also surprised that this great artist plays such a minor role on the album, he deserved more.
  15. this thread is so destructive
  16. like Mac DeMarco who released an album with 199 songs in April, I see no problem
  17. perhaps it was necessary to have a more coherent 'album sound', but much of the original feeling that this song conveyed has unfortunately been lost in the process (once again)
  18. someone has to do this job, which means a lot of responsibility and little freedom I don't envy him
  19. but the demo is really good! I listened to Pink Champagne for the first time today, and damn ... what Jack A. did with that song is so disappointing now
  20. to give us some hope (despite we know unreleased album is never coming)
