the way brat is totally sorta kinda her Norman Fucking Rockwell! moment, an album that not only feels like a victory lap for the artist but also solidifies everything fans have been saying about the artist for years while also redefining the records that came before it  and both achieving a new critical acclaim peak for the artist while also giving many new fans a great entry point to their discographies  and like NFR! I think brat is going to be a big turning point for Charli, its like after this record I have no clue where she and the music is going to head next and after an album like brat that feels so full circle moment for her she really can go in any direction she wants

Girl, so confusing is so obviously about Lorde I feel like I lose a brain cell anytime I see someone try to say it's Marina.
 
Charli and Lorde are friendly with each other, she's played up the Lorde comparison as a "joke" for so long,  and recently talked about feeling strange about them not collabing despite both saying they want to.

Yeah, almost like the song is about Charli's own insecurities and not a direct diss at Lorde. I have no doubt they had a conversation about the song before it was released.

brat is so gooooood 🥹🥲 sympathy is a knife on repeat. apple is my bouncy summer bop. also everything is romantic feels very salvatore, the girlies who get it get it yk??? not sure it edged out HIFN for me, but with some more listens it could come close !! but I think objectively brat may be her best, a culmination of all her best sounds/tricks but the lyricism and imagery is more vulnerable than ever before.
