  1. They haven't posted their review yet (and I'm low-key dreading it lol).
  2. St. Vincent, Rodrigo and Eilish were found dead in a ditch too (although Eilish was pretty close).
  3. Slant too. Blue Banisters becoming the highbrow darling...Bye Guardian!
  4. Pitchfork's review is actually fantastic. Very thoughtful and detailed. They praise the shit out of Black Bathing Suit and Sweet Carolina and also love Text Book, Dealer and Beautiful. It's a very good score. I mean, we know how stingy they are. But the review reads like a 8.5+ actually. https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/lana-del-rey-blue-banisters/
  5. This is good! They are notoriously hard to please. They gave a 7/10 to COCC and a 8/10 to NFR btw.
  6. Lmao what? The link directs to this: https://www.irishexaminer.com/lifestyle/artsandculture/arid-40726623.html which is a 4/5 review.
  7. The Lines of Best Fit's review is the best written one so far. Although when I finished the review I certainly expected a higher rating.
  8. The Guardian review is more positive than mixed actually. Definitely more positive than Petridis' reviews for NFR and COCC for example. I'm surprised NME only gave 4/5 to this though. Oh well...
  9. I hate Spotify. I've had so many problems with the audio quality recently. Apple Music is superior indeed. But keep streaming on both services. Anyway, IYLDWM is #6 on Spotify's New Music Friday. I'm still hoping for a surprise live performance/MV/anything really tomorrow.
  10. So her team is pushing IYLDWM but she's performing Arcadia despite the fact that she released a MV for Blue Banisters yesterday.
  11. Streaming and radio smash hit incoming. I hope we get a surprise MV along with the Colbert performance tomorrow. I mean, she released the MV for Venice bitch a couple of days after the Mariners MV so why not? And Thunder MV in December.
  12. The David Lynch reference gave me goosebumps. Which are the most Lynchian songs on the album?
  13. Except for the Stereogum "premature evaluation" and The Times UK review, I couldn't find another one except for this very positive review: https://www.theinterns.net/2021/10/22/the-first-listen-lana-del-rey-blue-banisters/ They vastly prefer BB to COCC. Best tracks: Blue Banisters, Black Bathing Suit, If You Lie Down With Me, Thunder, Sweet Carolina Skips: Interlude - The Trio, Wildflower Wildfire, Cherry Blossom 8.5/10
  14. This is exactly what I thought of too! And the booklet only has the lyrics of Arcadia, BB and IYLDWM so I guess this might be the third single after all? I wonder if this is the track she'll be singing at Colbert's show tomorrow.
  15. Nothing makes sense at this point lol. Piano and guitar are credited on NOTG and CB respectively but they're nowhere to be found. Boz said the final Beautiful mix has strings but apparently she kept the earlier piano version. Vinyls are delayed. She deletes all SM and posts on the Honeymoon account. This is one of the messiest Lana releases. And I'm kinda...living for it?
  16. Yeah it's a very silly comparison. I guess making consecutive reflective albums = sameness according to them. By the way I just reread their review and it's very positive until the last paragraph lol. They literally admire Lana's experimentations with her voice and sound, praise several tracks (Dealer, Thunder, Wildflower Wildfire, Text Book, Black Bathing Suit), say that there are "sublime stretches" on the album and only seem to have qualms with a couple of lyrics and the "slowness" of the last quarter of the album. They say that "in the context of comparing the album to NFR, it may be considered a disappointment" in terms of style and sound. But the review ends on a more positive note than, say, their premature evaluation of COCC when they kinda said that "For Free" is the strongest moment on the album but that might not be enough to save the rest of it from being too slight and too low-key so...I guess that's a win lol. EDIT: Basically what @Gothicula said.
  17. Thankfully they haven't dragged any of the singles so far and put Text Book on their Spotify playlist so I hope it'll get (at least) a 7ish score from them. I mean, they shat on every single Lorde released this year and still gave a 6.8 score to Solar Power so I guess we're...good?
  18. The review read mostly (very) positive until they said that the last couple of songs are too slow and kinda dragged Sweet Carolina's lyrics. Also LOL at the terrible criticism that both Lana and Taylor should have combined COCC+BB / Folklore+Evermore into one project because they're basically just nice background music for the pandemic.
