  1. Absolutely. So I guess If You Lie Down With Me has been heavily reworked since Erickson is credited as a co-writer, while Living Legend has been softly reworked, and Nectar of the Gods is probably the same version with the leaked one.
  2. @Terrence Loves Me Great post which basically proves that Text Book is a truly terrific opener. This album, as a body of work, has the makings of a masterpiece. I really hope it delivers. I wonder if Lana will drag Patty to filth in a new track...
  3. Okay so final predictions for the sound of the new tracks... Black Bathing Suit: spaghetti western influences (The Trio preceding it) + trip hop + blues (Text Book-ish instrumentals) leading to a psychedelic bridge. Confessional lyrics; an extremely sad song despite its sexy title. Some of Lana's deepest and most bluesy vocals to date. If You Lie Down With Me: a rock/blues ballad which gets more and more aggressive as the song reaches its highest point during its euphoric climax putting the likes of UFB and Riverside to shame I fear. Beautiful: the dreamiest song on the album. Synths! And an orchestra! Arcadia's sunnier sister. Violets for Roses: the breaking point. Very jazzy and very sad. The type of song Billie Holiday would have sung. The perfect track right before Dealer. Sweet Carolina: short and sweet piano ballad with heartwarming lyrics, and a hypnotic spacey synth-based soundscape. The shorter and livelier/more optimistic sister of Blue Banisters. Lana's voice at its most ethereal. Stargirl Interlude found dead in a ditch.
  4. IYLDWM must be a rough draft at best because Erickson is a co-writer which indicates that this has been reworked a lot. But I think it’s a new song given that Barrie and Lana had a session earlier this year. And it’d be quite cute and heartwarming if they decided to write a brand new song together after so many years so I’m manifesting it anyway!
  5. I'm glad I haven't listened to Dealer and The Trio yet. And I've only listened to the first 50 seconds of Arcadia. So I think I'm good lol! @Future Jazz You could listen to the leaked stuff early and then treat the rest of the album as an exclusive 11-track edition or something! For example, you could start with Dealer, Thunder, Nectar, Living Legend and Cherry Blossom first, enjoy the HQ/remastered quality and then listen to the new tracks starting with the officially released singles (Text Book, BB, Arcadia, Interlude, WFWF) and completing your listening experience with the 5 brand new tracks (BBS, IYLDWM, Beautiful, VFR, SC). Upon your second listen, you could listen to the album in sequence just as Lana curated it in order to "get" the narrative/story of the album. Or you could treat the leaked stuff as bonus tracks upon your first listen. Anyway, Black Bathing Suit is a head-scratcher at this point. I'm tempted to predict it as the closest thing to a "bop" on the album; there's a reason why The Trio precedes it. And while I'm not really expecting another Cherry/Cinnamon Girl/Tulsa Jesus Freak to be honest, because I highly doubt Erickson and Dawes would co-write something similar to these tracks, I do think that the interlude's trap elements and spaghetti western sounds will somehow be incorporated... Besides, the longest tracks on a Lana album usually end up being highlights (Off to the Races; Cruel World; Blackest Day; Honeymoon; Heroin; Get Free; Venice bitch; Hope is a dangerous thing; White Dress) so this is promising. I'm being cautiously optimistic! Remember when boz said back in late June that she added a bunch of songs including Arcadia at the very last minute? I guess these must have been the Drew Erickson collaborations (tracks 3, 6, 7, 8 and probably 15). And a couple of days later boz told us that she added yet another song! It must have been Black Bathing Suit since no one seems to have it... I'm very very curious about Beautiful. It's a very generic and simple title and has a surprisingly short length. I really don't know what to expect from it. Would @111 like to pour the tea?
  6. Not miss Black Bathing Suit being the longest track. I’m shocked and even more excited. Boz sinks. Didn’t our alleged “insider” say that Sweet Carolina is 5 minutes? Bye girl.
  7. I'm optimistic and quite excited about Sweet Carolina. Rob and Chuck seem very proud of it. And don't forget that the Barrie/Erickson collaboration is a highlight/top-tier track according to eclipse!
  8. Zach Dawes and Drew Erickson are the main producers. Mike Dean only produced Wildflower Wildfire.
  9. She's so fucking random, impulsive and wild. And this why I love the bitch. We're so much alike! Now I can't wait for her comeback post dragging Lorde.
  10. Boz said he was surprised when he saw that Nowels was credited because when he got the production credits his name wasn't included. I mean, he probably listened to an earlier piano-only version of Arcadia...and apparently none of the insiders have Black Bathing Suit (and it may not be the only track they haven't gotten access to). Miss Lana is keeping everyone on their toes.
  11. @111 spilling the tea! Is IYLDWM really an UV outtake though? Boz said Lana and Barrie had a session earlier this year and Erickson is credited as a co-writer so I’m confused lol. Anyway, this is exciting news!
  12. Lana could have released an 11-track album if she had wanted to. Living Legend was written for a motherly figure; Cherry Blossom is a lullaby to an unborn child. Thematically both songs are connected to the darkness of Wildflower Wildfire and could also be connected to the potential sweetness (sisterly/familial love?) of Sweet Carolina. I don't see how they're out of place. And I certainly wouldn't jump into conclusions about the "cohesiveness" of the album until I get the chance to listen to the entire album in sequence and fill in the gaps.
  13. @DCooper Arcadia's synths remind me of Badalamenti's main theme for Twin Peaks! @Future Jazz Great insightful writing. To be quite honest, I am not expecting a typical "bop" on the album - at least not something similar to, say, Cherry/Cinnamon Girl/Tulsa Jesus Freak/High by the Beach. The interlude underlines the spaghetti western influence on the first tracks of the album - particularly Text Book - and I'm expecting it to lead to something quite cinematic so you may be onto something. But I always imagined Black Bathing Suit as a very moody, ambient bluesy rock-ish song; the trap beats of The Trio may be incorporated somehow, but I'm not quite sure we're getting an "accessible" sultry track this time round. I'm very curious about it because Erickson and Dawes co-wrote it. What intrigues me a lot is that Side A of the vinyl ends with Black Bathing Suit. I wonder if this was intentional or not. Side B is also quite interesting. Could it be more rock-oriented? Dealer is an extremely angry song and tracks 5-8 seem to be the (enigmatic) "core"/"middle" of the album - and they're all new tracks! - so I'm interested in seeing how Lana goes from the dreamy melancholy soundscapes of Blue Banisters/Arcadia to something like Dealer.
  14. You made me trade my violets for roses. The simple life. I chose this.

    Song vs. Song

Arcadia vs. Coachella - Woodstock In My Mind
  16. Lol I doubt Rob and Chuck will have vocals although that would be cool and quite intimate. "Hypnotic" is an interesting word. I was expecting a very stripped-down COCC-esque acoustic song. Perhaps those spacey synths from BB and Arcadia will be featured again? Or it could be something entirely different. Anyway, I'm excited to listen to this track and see how it sums up the album's themes.
