St. Vincent, Rodrigo and Eilish were found dead in a ditch too (although Eilish was pretty close). -

Pitchfork's review is actually fantastic. Very thoughtful and detailed. They praise the shit out of Black Bathing Suit and Sweet Carolina and also love Text Book, Dealer and Beautiful. It's a very good score. I mean, we know how stingy they are. But the review reads like a 8.5+ actually. https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/lana-del-rey-blue-banisters/ -
Except for the Stereogum "premature evaluation" and The Times UK review, I couldn't find another one except for this very positive review: https://www.theinterns.net/2021/10/22/the-first-listen-lana-del-rey-blue-banisters/ They vastly prefer BB to COCC. Best tracks: Blue Banisters, Black Bathing Suit, If You Lie Down With Me, Thunder, Sweet Carolina Skips: Interlude - The Trio, Wildflower Wildfire, Cherry Blossom 8.5/10

Nothing makes sense at this point lol. Piano and guitar are credited on NOTG and CB respectively but they're nowhere to be found. Boz said the final Beautiful mix has strings but apparently she kept the earlier piano version. Vinyls are delayed. She deletes all SM and posts on the Honeymoon account. This is one of the messiest Lana releases. And I'm kinda...living for it?

Yeah it's a very silly comparison. I guess making consecutive reflective albums = sameness according to them. By the way I just reread their review and it's very positive until the last paragraph lol. They literally admire Lana's experimentations with her voice and sound, praise several tracks (Dealer, Thunder, Wildflower Wildfire, Text Book, Black Bathing Suit), say that there are "sublime stretches" on the album and only seem to have qualms with a couple of lyrics and the "slowness" of the last quarter of the album. They say that "in the context of comparing the album to NFR, it may be considered a disappointment" in terms of style and sound. But the review ends on a more positive note than, say, their premature evaluation of COCC when they kinda said that "For Free" is the strongest moment on the album but that might not be enough to save the rest of it from being too slight and too low-key so...I guess that's a win lol. EDIT: Basically what @Gothicula said.

The review read mostly (very) positive until they said that the last couple of songs are too slow and kinda dragged Sweet Carolina's lyrics. Also LOL at the terrible criticism that both Lana and Taylor should have combined COCC+BB / Folklore+Evermore into one project because they're basically just nice background music for the pandemic.
