It's 100% reworked. Erickson is credited as a co-writer of the song unlike, say, Nectar of the Gods. I suppose Lana wanted consistency in terms of sound so the middle section seems to follow Arcadia's soundscape with all the trumpets on IYLDWM and the violins on VFR. And these are all Erickson collaborations. Unsurprisingly, the good sis Zach Dawes is keeping the rockier elements of Thunder/California on Black Bathing Suit with all the drums and guitars.

If she did remove the guitars on NOTG and LL then both songs are reworked. On the other hand I think these credits are incomplete. For example, Sweet Carolina mentions Drew Erickson but not Rob who 100% plays the piano. Anyway, Violets for Roses having violins and violoncello is EVERYTHING. And If You Lie Down With Me with all the trumpets and tubas. And Miss Black Bathing Suit with guitars and drums.

I hope Chuck serves giraffe realness on the back cover then. Just like her sister.

Text Book Blue Banisters Arcadia Interlude - The Trio Black Bathing Suit If You Lie Down With Me Beautiful Violets for Roses Dealer Thunder Wildflower Wildfire [red basically but I can't use it] Nectar of the Gods Living Legend Cherry Blossom Sweet Carolina Tracks 1-2: Different shades of blue. Text Book is much darker and grittier than Blue Banisters. Tracks 3-4: Arcadia is pale yellow, almost white. The Trio is brownish. Tracks 5-6: Black and grey. Simple stark colors. Tracks 7-11: Shades of red basically. Beautiful is softer, lighter. Violets for Roses is more romantic but bittersweet. Dealer is velvet red; deep and emotional. Thunder is more balanced; a transition. Wildflower Wildfire is the most expressive one. Tracks 12-13: Petrol, metallic and oily colors. Tracks 14-15: Very light pink and yellow. Sweet and soft. A rosy sunset and the sand of the beach.

She's a nuisance to Lana, that's for sure.

Yeah. How the hell can a Honeymoon-esque jazz ballad be the most "commercial" track on the album?

Black Bathing Suit: I've said it before but the interlude must be some sort of a build-up. It's the longest track on the album as well. The fact that it's on Side A of the vinyl along with the first four tracks could mean that it's similarly heavy in terms of emotion. I expect a very dark song to be honest. The trap and spaghetti western influences will be there, I suppose, but I think this will be closer to, say, White Dress/Blackest Day/Heroin in terms of emotion than the likes of Cherry/Cinnamon Girl/Tulsa Jesus Freak despite its deceptively sultry title. Lana talked about the hate she's received in the lyrics of Arcadia, so this could be the big emotional explosion (talking about the paparazzi and body shaming perhaps?). It's interesting that it is rumored to be the very last song she wrote and recorded for the album. If You Lie Down With Me: Yeah, I think this one is going to be a rock & bluesy ballad and I do have a great feeling about this. Barrie brought something raw in his collaborations with Lana, and Erickson can bring the ethereal. I think this will be the big fan favourite to be honest. Beautiful: It sounds like it could be the dreamiest song on the album with a lot of spacey synths and a very transcendent quality overall. But it could be something very pop, or something very stripped down as well. I have no idea. Violets for Roses: I'm getting major jazz/blues vibes from this. I mean...it'll play right before Dealer. It could be the calm before the storm or it could be something very abstract and lyrically complex. I love the title! Sweet Carolina: Lana serving Mazzy Star realness would be everything. I think it'll complete Cherry Blossom and somehow reflect and respond to the opening track of the album, Text Book. It'll be quite stripped down; I'll be surprised if there is more than piano lol. But I think it could be very very good.

Best case scenario: Lana releases a more radio-friendly/accessible single when the album is officially released (Thunder would be a cool pick) + gets NFR-level (or close to it) critical acclaim. These could help secure some longevity + streams. If not, well, she could still debut in the top 3 / top 5 on the first week and stay there for a second consecutive week due to physicals being shipped a week later.

I'm very curious about Violets for Roses. Lana loves mentioning flowers in her songs, particularly roses. So I wonder if this is yet another extremely personal and intimate song for her. How will it sound like? It's the track before Dealer which has very angry lyrics and VFR could mark a shift in sonic direction or lyrical content. She traded violets for roses...the simple life...she chose this.

The snippet sounds very run-of-the-mill to be honest, but I hope I'm proven wrong.
