  1. I hope there's a twist and Lana serves background vocals only.
  2. Joan Baez and Stevie Nicks performing splits while listening to Queen of Disaster...
  3. Can't wait for Tex and Mex's harmonies during the bridge of Violets for Roses.
  4. Yeah. How the hell can a Honeymoon-esque jazz ballad be the most "commercial" track on the album?
  5. Black Bathing Suit: I've said it before but the interlude must be some sort of a build-up. It's the longest track on the album as well. The fact that it's on Side A of the vinyl along with the first four tracks could mean that it's similarly heavy in terms of emotion. I expect a very dark song to be honest. The trap and spaghetti western influences will be there, I suppose, but I think this will be closer to, say, White Dress/Blackest Day/Heroin in terms of emotion than the likes of Cherry/Cinnamon Girl/Tulsa Jesus Freak despite its deceptively sultry title. Lana talked about the hate she's received in the lyrics of Arcadia, so this could be the big emotional explosion (talking about the paparazzi and body shaming perhaps?). It's interesting that it is rumored to be the very last song she wrote and recorded for the album. If You Lie Down With Me: Yeah, I think this one is going to be a rock & bluesy ballad and I do have a great feeling about this. Barrie brought something raw in his collaborations with Lana, and Erickson can bring the ethereal. I think this will be the big fan favourite to be honest. Beautiful: It sounds like it could be the dreamiest song on the album with a lot of spacey synths and a very transcendent quality overall. But it could be something very pop, or something very stripped down as well. I have no idea. Violets for Roses: I'm getting major jazz/blues vibes from this. I mean...it'll play right before Dealer. It could be the calm before the storm or it could be something very abstract and lyrically complex. I love the title! Sweet Carolina: Lana serving Mazzy Star realness would be everything. I think it'll complete Cherry Blossom and somehow reflect and respond to the opening track of the album, Text Book. It'll be quite stripped down; I'll be surprised if there is more than piano lol. But I think it could be very very good.
  6. Best case scenario: Lana releases a more radio-friendly/accessible single when the album is officially released (Thunder would be a cool pick) + gets NFR-level (or close to it) critical acclaim. These could help secure some longevity + streams. If not, well, she could still debut in the top 3 / top 5 on the first week and stay there for a second consecutive week due to physicals being shipped a week later.
  7. I'm very curious about Violets for Roses. Lana loves mentioning flowers in her songs, particularly roses. So I wonder if this is yet another extremely personal and intimate song for her. How will it sound like? It's the track before Dealer which has very angry lyrics and VFR could mark a shift in sonic direction or lyrical content. She traded violets for roses...the simple life...she chose this.

The snippet sounds very run-of-the-mill to be honest, but I hope I'm proven wrong.
  9. Text Book, Wildflower Wildfire, Blue Banisters, Arcadia, The Trio, Sweet Carolina, Black Bathing Suit, Beautiful and Violets for Roses are new songs. She literally started writing and recording them last fall and completed the recording sessions in June. She reworked Thunder a lot, as well as Living Legend - albeit to a lesser extent - according to insiders. Erickson is credited as a co-writer of If You Lie Down With Me which means that the song must have been heavily reworked for the new album. How is this lazy? She scrapped some songs she wrote with Antonoff last year. We're not even sure if she reworked the likes of Cherry Blossom and Nectar of the Gods - and even Dealer - or not because it seems that the insiders have had access to an earlier version of the album and haven't even listened to songs such as Black Bathing Suit (at the very least; I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't listened to some of the other new tracks as well). This is the second album she is about to release this year, merely 7 months after Chemtrails. She'll have released 8 studio albums by the end of the year. In less than a decade. The first singles off Blue Banisters showcase sophisticated and elegant writing and instrumentals; a departure from Chemtrails and NFR in several ways. And this does feel like Lana at her most intimate. I don't know what else she's supposed to do in order to please some of you at this point. I keep reading posts that constantly reek of negativity - borderline toxicity at this point - on nearly every single thread even for completely random reasons. Why is everyone being triggered so easily? Why do people keep dragging her claiming that she's been burned out/lazy/an elitist/hypocrite? It's exhausting. I'm signing off.
  10. Absolutely. So I guess If You Lie Down With Me has been heavily reworked since Erickson is credited as a co-writer, while Living Legend has been softly reworked, and Nectar of the Gods is probably the same version with the leaked one.
  11. @Terrence Loves Me Great post which basically proves that Text Book is a truly terrific opener. This album, as a body of work, has the makings of a masterpiece. I really hope it delivers. I wonder if Lana will drag Patty to filth in a new track...
  12. Okay so final predictions for the sound of the new tracks... Black Bathing Suit: spaghetti western influences (The Trio preceding it) + trip hop + blues (Text Book-ish instrumentals) leading to a psychedelic bridge. Confessional lyrics; an extremely sad song despite its sexy title. Some of Lana's deepest and most bluesy vocals to date. If You Lie Down With Me: a rock/blues ballad which gets more and more aggressive as the song reaches its highest point during its euphoric climax putting the likes of UFB and Riverside to shame I fear. Beautiful: the dreamiest song on the album. Synths! And an orchestra! Arcadia's sunnier sister. Violets for Roses: the breaking point. Very jazzy and very sad. The type of song Billie Holiday would have sung. The perfect track right before Dealer. Sweet Carolina: short and sweet piano ballad with heartwarming lyrics, and a hypnotic spacey synth-based soundscape. The shorter and livelier/more optimistic sister of Blue Banisters. Lana's voice at its most ethereal. Stargirl Interlude found dead in a ditch.
  13. IYLDWM must be a rough draft at best because Erickson is a co-writer which indicates that this has been reworked a lot. But I think it’s a new song given that Barrie and Lana had a session earlier this year. And it’d be quite cute and heartwarming if they decided to write a brand new song together after so many years so I’m manifesting it anyway!
  14. I'm glad I haven't listened to Dealer and The Trio yet. And I've only listened to the first 50 seconds of Arcadia. So I think I'm good lol! @Future Jazz You could listen to the leaked stuff early and then treat the rest of the album as an exclusive 11-track edition or something! For example, you could start with Dealer, Thunder, Nectar, Living Legend and Cherry Blossom first, enjoy the HQ/remastered quality and then listen to the new tracks starting with the officially released singles (Text Book, BB, Arcadia, Interlude, WFWF) and completing your listening experience with the 5 brand new tracks (BBS, IYLDWM, Beautiful, VFR, SC). Upon your second listen, you could listen to the album in sequence just as Lana curated it in order to "get" the narrative/story of the album. Or you could treat the leaked stuff as bonus tracks upon your first listen. Anyway, Black Bathing Suit is a head-scratcher at this point. I'm tempted to predict it as the closest thing to a "bop" on the album; there's a reason why The Trio precedes it. And while I'm not really expecting another Cherry/Cinnamon Girl/Tulsa Jesus Freak to be honest, because I highly doubt Erickson and Dawes would co-write something similar to these tracks, I do think that the interlude's trap elements and spaghetti western sounds will somehow be incorporated... Besides, the longest tracks on a Lana album usually end up being highlights (Off to the Races; Cruel World; Blackest Day; Honeymoon; Heroin; Get Free; Venice bitch; Hope is a dangerous thing; White Dress) so this is promising. I'm being cautiously optimistic! Remember when boz said back in late June that she added a bunch of songs including Arcadia at the very last minute? I guess these must have been the Drew Erickson collaborations (tracks 3, 6, 7, 8 and probably 15). And a couple of days later boz told us that she added yet another song! It must have been Black Bathing Suit since no one seems to have it... I'm very very curious about Beautiful. It's a very generic and simple title and has a surprisingly short length. I really don't know what to expect from it. Would @111 like to pour the tea?
  15. Not miss Black Bathing Suit being the longest track. I’m shocked and even more excited. Boz sinks. Didn’t our alleged “insider” say that Sweet Carolina is 5 minutes? Bye girl.
  16. I'm optimistic and quite excited about Sweet Carolina. Rob and Chuck seem very proud of it. And don't forget that the Barrie/Erickson collaboration is a highlight/top-tier track according to eclipse!
  17. Zach Dawes and Drew Erickson are the main producers. Mike Dean only produced Wildflower Wildfire.
