  1. She drowned in the pool. There are many things in common between the Arcadia MVs (both of them) and the Blue Banisters one. So I guess we should take the subtle visual hints at a Thunder MV a bit more seriously.
  2. This is one of her simplest and most poignant MVs to date. When I first listened to the song, I immediately fell in love with it. Its ambient spacey soundscape; the diaristic lyrics; the deeply emotional outro...everything just clicked. It's so ethereal and poetic, and this MV perfectly encapsulates the themes and the album's thesis. We should pay more attention to the little fleeting moments, and we should find the people who support and love us. Sadness lingers - there are many quick shots of Lana looking very contemplative and melancholy, particularly during the storm scenes and in the closing shot - and we have to live with it, but it's okay as long as we feel safe with the people - and in the places! - we love and care for. I loved the John Deere; the ambiguous bluish gray color; the weathervane; Tex's cameo; the birthday cakes; the modesty.
  3. She's totally singing Blue Banisters this Friday. I wonder if the alternate BB cover with the emerald dress was shot during the filming of a third MV. I'd love one long MV for two songs just like the one she made for FIILY/The Greatest.
  4. It'll be hilarious if she uses the footage with Clay for the first half of the MV. Dragging at its finest.
  5. Clay found dead in a ditch.
  6. I'm genuinely surprised by the fact that they haven't reviewed a single track so far. They did review LMLYLAW when it was released last year. At least they put Text Book on their Pitchfork Selects Spotify Playlist I guess. But I'm expecting yet another rating between 7.0 and 7.8 anyway lol.
  7. Not her signing "u little fuckers"!
  8. I really don't know what to expect from the critics but a positive review by Pitchfork will certainly help in terms of exposure and promotion. Anyone interested in detective work? Have they posted something similar for an upcoming album before? I hope this won't backfire and we end up with a negative review lol.
  9. If someone posted defamatory shit against me and I got the receipts, the least I would do would be to publicly call them out. End of story.
  10. The backing vocalists are credited so they're definitely featured!
  11. @MagicalTrancePotion @hashtagtylerh I can't wait for the epic violas and violoncellos in Violets for Roses.
  12. And If You Lie Down With Me apparently because he said it's one of the highlights of the album.
  13. No credits for The Trio btw. Who the hell made those trap sounds then?
  14. I thought there were synths in BB, no? @TextBook and @lanasbottom are right though. Wildflower Wildfire has those distorted drums etc. which haven't been listed either. So things are definitely missing. Anyway, I'm very excited about If You Lie Down With Me and Violets for Roses.
  15. Apart from not mentioning Rob on Sweet Carolina, these credits don't mention the synths on Blue Banisters or the distorted drums on Wildflower Wildfire for example. So yeah they are incomplete. I just noticed that Barrie isn't listed on the IYLDWM credits at all. I wonder if the song was in a very very rough form when Lana worked on it with Barrie back in the day. Anyway apparently we have: -> guitars + drums + keyboards on Black Bathing Suit -> trumpets + tubas + drums + guitar + piano + keyboards on If You Lie Down With Me -> piano on Beautiful & Sweet Carolina -> violins + violas + violoncello + synths + piano on Violets for Roses
  16. I just noticed that Sweet Carolina is two seconds longer than expected. What if Lana scrapped Rob's recording, replaced it with Erickson's recording session and hasn't told Rob yet?
  17. It's 100% reworked. Erickson is credited as a co-writer of the song unlike, say, Nectar of the Gods. I suppose Lana wanted consistency in terms of sound so the middle section seems to follow Arcadia's soundscape with all the trumpets on IYLDWM and the violins on VFR. And these are all Erickson collaborations. Unsurprisingly, the good sis Zach Dawes is keeping the rockier elements of Thunder/California on Black Bathing Suit with all the drums and guitars.
