Blue Banisters - Pre-Pre-Release Thread

I'm very intrigued by Sweet Carolina - a new song featuring lyrics from her dad and sister! - which not only comes right after a sequence of older tracks but also closes the album. It must be a very special song for her. And when her closers are original songs (Get Free & hope...) they usually end up being highlights of her entire discography. -

Yeah I'm tempted to listen to Arcadia actually...I haven't listened to the new snippet yet! I'll probably avoid the MV though because apparently it includes the interlude (unless it's only a part of the interlude lol) and I don't want to be left with only 6 unknown tracks. The dilemmas... -

I kinda hope the UO cover is from a second MV she's already shot because she looks so fucking regal. I love it. I can't believe I promised myself not to listen to Arcadia, The Trio and the LQ version of Dealer until the album is released. Lol, good luck with that! -

Are we going to get the duration and credits of each song today? -

Also, what is the general consensus on the new Arcadia snippet here? Do you guys love it? Has it met your expectations? -

Lol I missed everything that happened in the last few hours! I haven't listened to the LQ version of Dealer but I'm intrigued by how polarizing it is. The Twin Peaks comparisons are promising. I haven't listened to the new Arcadia snippet either. Is it true there are horns, strings and spacey sounds? I thought miss boz said that the sound will be same-y lol so I kinda expected it to be (mostly) piano-driven. I was genuinely touched by Lana's IG post. This will be her most personal album and judging from her little text, this is going to be narratively cohesive. I love the fact that she doesn't care about promotion, critical reception and people's expectations anymore. She's really entered her intellectual rock diva phase. -

This dead silence is...unsettling lol. Perhaps the insiders spilled so much yesterday because they knew that the tracklist will be announced sometime today? -

I don't think we're getting a cover this time around. Insiders would have spilled the tea. -
Don't we get news every time someone posts scat? Just do it. Don't wait.

The instrumental interlude is another interesting one btw. Will we listen to it in its entirety on the Arcadia MV or will there be just a short version/snippet of it? It won't be like Burnt Norton I suppose so it must be purely instrumental right? If it were a short track, I doubt Miss Lana would make a track out of it. It could have worked as Arcadia's intro or outro... -

It'll be hilarious if Elton John underperforms and Lana's physical sales push her to #1 on the third week of the album's release (assuming the physicals are released two weeks later). I suppose her team is scared that Lana will be overshadowed by Coldplay and Sheeran. In late October/early November Europe and the U.K. in particular will go gaga for Elton John and especially ABBA (not to mention Adele if the rumors are true). But yeah I hope there's some payola tbh. Push Arcadia hard on alternative radio stations, let the sexy close-ups of Miss Lana's Sierra Madre turn into glorious memes on social media and then release a high-budget MV when the album is released. -

I never understood the criticism against WFWF's production. I mean, the piano and drums are intentionally artificial, glitchy and distorted creating this suffocating soundscape that feels like a fucked up demo. If the track is close to Dealer etc. on the tracklist, then it'll make a lot of sense if Lana snaps and goes completely raw in the second half of the album (which kinda seems to be the case if the tracklist placements are to be believed). -

Oh this is interesting. So I suppose the interlude is the transition between the three more mellow opening tracks to this more grunge-y/COCC eleganza sound? Lol, I'd love a long ass interlude btw. Kinda like the instrumental in Venice biatch. -

I suppose people who buy physicals don't stream the album much (or at all) right? I guess the Lana fandom won't have any other choice so perhaps the album will perform well on its first week after all? -

Living Legend is the one that needs to be reworked the most. Her voice is very different now and much richer as well. Nectar of the Gods too but it doesn't need that much reworking assuming she keeps it as an acoustic track. Cherry Blossom and Dealer can have this raw/unfinished demo-esque feeling because it seems to enhance the lyrics and overall mood. Thunder sounds great although I assume it'll be cleaner on the album. I mean, these are all demos. I expect them to sound much better on the album even if she decides to keep them as they are. Anyway, it's so funny how much boz overreacted when he said that he's not a fan of the album because of the outtakes she decided to put on the album. I mean, he made it seem like she chose some unlistenable and borderline awful tracks when these actually turned out to be...Nectar of the Gods, Living Legend and Dealer. -

If this unfinished/raw texture is intentional, then I'll be fine with it. I haven't listened to the Dealer snippets (yet) but everyone got really excited so I'm being optimistic. I'm pretty sure they'll remaster the songs anyway. Besides, Lana's voice has changed so much. I really hope she's re-recorded them. -

Lol that's what I've been thinking actually because I can't imagine this sultry demonic dance to the sound of...piano. Unless there's an explosive bridge/outro on Arcadia lol. But perhaps she's serving Zorba the Greek realness after all. The beginning of the MV snippet did remind me of this lmao: -
