  1. There is conflicting information. Some of the people who worked on it said that the released version is the "original", but it's unclear if they mean with that. I'd recommend reading BlackoutZone's blog post: https://blackoutzone.net/the-zone/say-yes-to-heaven-timeline-of-a-timeless-gem/ The way I understand it is that the released version is a new mix made from the original Rick Nowels session. Until we get a leak of one of the 2013 mixes we won't know exactly how much changed. It seems the song used to be even more stripped back according to the blog post.
  2. Jack talks a bit about Ocean Blvd in a new interview. https://www.musicradar.com/news/jack-antonoff-interview-taylor-swift-midnights-oberheim Tell us about how you approach vocal recording. Do you have a typical approach that you use across multiple projects or is it completely different every time? “It’s different for everyone. It's based on the context of what's happening. For someone like Lana del Rey, there's a very specific vocal treatment that we carried through her entire recent album. Whereas for other people, there could be different treatments for different songs. “Lana’s a good example of someone who when I record her, we're just grabbing that moment. It has to be documented from that moment. We don't do overdubs, we don't come in a month later and do more vocals, because it's happening there. So the vocal tone needs to reflect that. The vocal tone has to have a level of the room within it. Not a room mic, but even just in terms of how we're compressing, or where we're placing her, there has to be enough feeling of the space.

  5. Let's wait for them to send an email or message over this openstage platform, I have no idea how this will work in detail. So far there isn't anything interesting.
  6. Listened to it a couple times and happy to have it Glad that outtakes from this era find their place on other albums.
  7. I only listened to the iTunes preview and I also got movie soundtrack vibes but I think I'll like it because I loved Hollywood Bowl.
  8. Should be out in NZ on YouTube but I don't have a VPN to verify.

  11. Not seeing any signs that there will be new merch today. Definitely no new vinyl.
  12. The release date is again set to May, no one will see them without scrolling back.
  13. I haven't listened to it yet, too lazy to setup a VPN for a radio edit.
  14. I don't know, this was shared on the Lolla subreddit half an hour ago.
  15. No, but as far as I understand it the version in A&W is close to the original Jimmy, they just added some ad libs and distortion effects. Lana said in an interview that she recorded a demo of American Whore in a hotel, sent it to Jack and he didn't look it at for half a year. Based on that it's not from the NFR era.
