  1. I used to get really annoyed by these cults because they always resulted in people making up lies in an attempt to cancel her (e.g. burning bible) but in the end it doesn't matter, people move on in a couple weeks and it has never harmed her career.
  2. Thank you, I just saw Lana's story that tagged Zella Day.
  3. I might be missing something obvious but how is Nikki Lane opening when she has her own tour dates? For example she plays a show on September 21 in Kansas City.

    Mitski

Lana said this in a recent interview, seems Mitski was one of the artists she meant. I had for example decided on the last two albums to work with Drew Erickson [Mac DeMarco, Weyes Blood...]. In the meantime, he has become a composer and a producer that the industry is snapping up. I consider him a genius, he will become a fundamental songwriter. I am honored to have collaborated with him when it was still possible.

    Taylor Swift

Also selling CDs with their cover hidden for a limited time so that fans can't even make an informed decision on which one to get
  6. The strings are by Patrick Warren who worked with Lana back in 2013 so I don't think they have been recorded later.
  7. I just watched the video Lana shared and she literally just said the tour dates with Jack improvising in the background? All the meltdowns because of that?
  8. There is conflicting information. Some of the people who worked on it said that the released version is the "original", but it's unclear if they mean with that. I'd recommend reading BlackoutZone's blog post: https://blackoutzone.net/the-zone/say-yes-to-heaven-timeline-of-a-timeless-gem/ The way I understand it is that the released version is a new mix made from the original Rick Nowels session. Until we get a leak of one of the 2013 mixes we won't know exactly how much changed. It seems the song used to be even more stripped back according to the blog post.
  9. Jack talks a bit about Ocean Blvd in a new interview. https://www.musicradar.com/news/jack-antonoff-interview-taylor-swift-midnights-oberheim Tell us about how you approach vocal recording. Do you have a typical approach that you use across multiple projects or is it completely different every time? “It’s different for everyone. It's based on the context of what's happening. For someone like Lana del Rey, there's a very specific vocal treatment that we carried through her entire recent album. Whereas for other people, there could be different treatments for different songs. “Lana’s a good example of someone who when I record her, we're just grabbing that moment. It has to be documented from that moment. We don't do overdubs, we don't come in a month later and do more vocals, because it's happening there. So the vocal tone needs to reflect that. The vocal tone has to have a level of the room within it. Not a room mic, but even just in terms of how we're compressing, or where we're placing her, there has to be enough feeling of the space.

  11. The meltdowns over 3 weeks of tour dates
  12. Let's wait for them to send an email or message over this openstage platform, I have no idea how this will work in detail. So far there isn't anything interesting.
  13. Listened to it a couple times and happy to have it Glad that outtakes from this era find their place on other albums.
  14. I only listened to the iTunes preview and I also got movie soundtrack vibes but I think I'll like it because I loved Hollywood Bowl.
  15. Should be out in NZ on YouTube but I don't have a VPN to verify.

  17. https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/duffel-bag-body-outside-lands-18295848.php The person was identified and according to the mother she was homeless with severe mental health issues. Does not appear to have any connection to the festival.
  18. Not seeing any signs that there will be new merch today. Definitely no new vinyl.
  19. The release date is again set to May, no one will see them without scrolling back.
  20. I haven't listened to it yet, too lazy to setup a VPN for a radio edit.
  21. I don't know, this was shared on the Lolla subreddit half an hour ago.
  22. No, but as far as I understand it the version in A&W is close to the original Jimmy, they just added some ad libs and distortion effects. Lana said in an interview that she recorded a demo of American Whore in a hotel, sent it to Jack and he didn't look it at for half a year. Based on that it's not from the NFR era.
