Got a lana del Rey fan magazine for Christmas, and had this question myself! A paragraph from one of the pages reads: Exposure aside, you have to wonder why Lana and her team keep signing up for TV appearances that she's clearly not prepared for. She'll also perform on the prestigious Late Show With Letterman on February 2, and Ellen DeGeneres' chat show later on. On tour in November and December 2011, Lana repeatedly told crowds that songs would sound better on the record. In French magazine Les Inrockuptibles she was asked whether performing is ever a pleasurable experience for her. "I'm concentrating too much to let myself go," she said. "I'm scared of making a mistake, so Itry and control everything... I can't escape myself." She also recently claimed she'd forsake touring to stay in New York. "My big plan is to get residency back down in the West Village. I'm gonna do my live television, but what I'd like to do is have residency (there and do my other work that's important to me on the side. And that would be a better life than most because I'd be doing what I wanted." This is in the context of the born to die era, but Lana’s never been on Ellen? my heart is going out to that poor fan awhh! I honestly don’t know what I’d do in that situation, especially considering that it wasn’t a particularly original post either and it’s been said many times before.. the psychic who told her about her falling out of the treehouse, how she grew up with her grandma in a trailer, saying she was born in 1986 to some interviewers etc etc. I can imagine tensions are high right now with her being with Jeremy and the vast media coverage she’s getting, so maybe it was a case of the fan simply getting the brunt of all that stress.

imagine the upheaval if she ended up getting a Grammy for tough out of everything in her discography 9+ albums later goodnight

I agree, in Los Angeles there's many gated communities and country clubs to escape the paparazzi and maintain somewhat normality. The infrastructure is built so celebrities can have that privacy, in Louisiana + other regions surrounding the area that's understandably not the case because not many celebrities hang around there, and as a result the paparazzi and locals have been quite invasive. I mean, Lana couldn't even go antique shopping without them posting the CCTV footage without her consent. In Los Angeles, that wouldn't happen but she’s happy in Louisiana so I'm wishing her the best! Hopefully they find a way around the constant media frenzy.

I'd love to add to this conversation that back in June of 2023 Lana went to Sweny's pharmacy in Dublin and left a note signed Elizabeth, I think when Lana's signing things like autographs etc she uses her 'work' name, but out and about casually she probably grabs her coffee signed Lizzy, or signs a receipt with her legal name as such. It makes sense after all, it separates her personal life from her work life. Just my theory, all speculation! only she actually knows x

Paparazzi and celebrity ‘culture’ (if you will ) is probably different in Louisiana compared to LA. Los Angeles is a hub for people within the entertainment industry so I’m sure there’s more regulations and training in place when it comes to paparazzi, and an expectation to be met. When an A-list celebrity is just chilling in Louisiana I can imagine the photographers and paparazzi are foaming at the mouth to capture every moment of it because they don’t see it too often. This is probably why the couple and New Orleans paparazzi are so invasive towards lana, they’re so eager to capitalize off of every sighting. Just my theory! what do you guys think of all this? It’s crazy to me. so so invasive.

The issue is that it’s not all paparazzi filming them, it’s the residents/fans doing so aswell
