last time I posted here I triggered a big shitstorm lmao but I hate it when Lana sings too low for too long. It just seems monotone and boring. In my opinion the song Ride is completely ruined by the verses being far too low and the terrible lyrics with shit like "full time daddy white and gold" "dying young and I'm playing hard" "that's the way my father made his life an art" every time I hear it I cringe. - the prechoruses/choruses/bridge are perfect though. I also hate the Ride video. It's pretentious, most of it is aesthetically uninspiring, and far too repetitive (mostly just shots of her with daddies or pretending to be a prosititute) for a full 10 minutes. I hope Lana's gonna slightly change her themes and give us at least some songs that aren't based around bad boy/daddy/Lolita meth addict. I don't think I could enjoy another 14 tracks about the exact same things she's been overusing in the last 4 years

Foundation - C Real - A Shine - A Take Shelter - A Worship - A Eyes Shut - B Ties - A King - A Desire - A Gold - B Without -B Border - B Memo - A I love this album so much. They don't do anything particularly groundbreaking, but the songs are really strong overall. It's really listenable and I can easily listen to it from start to finish (in contrast to - UV which I love but it's hard to listen to it from start to finish). It has some really catchy hooks and melodies which have quickly entered my brain as earworms. ps. Don't really understand the savagery towards it by some people - all F apart from a C for King?

because the chorus only consists of 9 different words repeated again and again in a total of 3 phrases - two of which are barely phrases at all? Don't get me wrong, I love the song - but her lyrics in this particular song (especially in the chorus) aren't even close to being the standard of most songs on BTD. I also think Lana is a good enough lyricist to capture a moment/idea/atmosphere with strong punchy choruses, without resorting to essentially the song title repeated, followed by 2 short phrases which rhyme with it, repeated.
