Imagine how many women have had their lives ruined by being raped........
It's a lot more than the amount of false accusations.
That's a misogynistic thing to say, maybe you should do some reevaluating, talk to some survivors. Rape apologism isn't a good look.

(Also guys, the incessant begging for proof and being met with shame and skepticism is why victims do not come forward. Keep that in mind.)

Just to give some merit to the victim, they seemingly were very close during 2015, maybe 2016 but not much there; Mel is known for being very close friends with a pedophile, yet "isn't aware of it"

here's a nice rundown from user Corsola from atrl though:
The thing is... Melanie has a very loyal fan base that largely looks up to her. She's even covered topics of sexual assault before; it's not like she's talking about a shady Hollywood producer or something. Timothy has a career herself that I'm sure she would not want shattered by going after somebody as trusted as her. There's evidence they were very close throughout 2015 but (as far as I know) nothing from them in 2016 and up. So I actually do think that the story about her being inspired by the #MeToo movement has merit, since using this timeline it would seem she was too scared to speak up before as she knows she doesn't really have an established fanbase like Melanie does.
And even *IF* she is lying, it really makes you wonder what happened between them that was so big that she would do that to her old best friend. No matter what happened here, there seems to be a lot that's to be uncovered if it really were a lie, which I personally can't find it in me to think that she's lying based on the way she has described it. I just hope Timothy has the support she needs and will be okay.

I won’t insult you by calling you an unsympathetic piece of sh*t but i will say this - addiction is not so cut and dry. He was very vocal about having mental health issues and even said it was getting worse and worse as he was on tour. Everyone has different coping mechanisms and that’s the only way he knew how to cope. -
